Crochet for Summer... Groundbreaking eh!? But who really cares if it's groundbreaking of not, it's a summer fabric technique that I've always been utterly obsessed with! It's nostalgic connotations and of course the rainbow of colours that it usually comes in, tick all of my boxes and I struggle not to add a crochet piece of two to my collection each time summer rolls around.
I feel we've been super lucky so far with how our spring/summer has gone, weather wise at least and long may it continue throughout the "warmer" months. The great weather has meant I've been able to rock this dress a number of times and I honestly don't plan on slowing down anytime soon.
Despite it being a relatively bold dress I'm finding it really easy and rather fun to style up in a number of different ways.
This particular crochet dress is quite the splurge piece, however I was completely honoured to have worked with Kate Spade, the designer of this dress, throughout spring (this post isn't part of that work) but rest assured I'll certainly be getting my wear out of the little beauty!
This particular dress is sadly no longer available but I've left a lil carousel below of crochet goodness that I thought you may like also. And I just have to mention Shop Fluffy one of the most incredible independent stores that specialises in all things rainbow and crochet, I'm patiently waiting for their crochet bucket hats to come back in stock so I can add to my crochet collection.

DRESS & BAG- c/o KATE SPADE (previous partner), SANDALS- WEEKEND BY MAXMARA (old similar here)

While I'm quite the seasoned crochet dress or top or even shorts wearer, a crochet bag has never come into my life before... Until now of course.
Double crochet and double lilac is just what I'm talking about to create a really fun and rather unique look don't you think? I also adore how the orange and green are somewhat clashing with one another, fighting for the limelight, yet in other respects totally working together, do you know what I mean!?
Anyhoo, paired with this seasons must have Grandal (grandad sandal) it's pretty much my fave summer look that has been on rotation A LOT lately with just the occasional styling update, shoe change or layering piece thrown in for good measure.

I am absolutely obsessed with this look. Itβs totally different to what Iβve been seeing lately. Also, such beautiful photos. I think once lockdown is over you should still continue to mix professional and self shot photographs.
Oh Megan! I am utterly INSANELY obsessed with this look and these pictures! I have huge love for lilac at the moment and well, this crochet co-ord of dreams is delightful, v upset the sandals are old – been eyeing those up on your feed! But just managed to bag some very cool VERY chunky sandals this week so please universe let these pics be a message to bring back the sunshine coz lord knows we need those rays (and so we both can wear outfits like this again immediately) <3 Hope you are keeping well darling <3 xxxxx
Hi Megan, so glad to see you back on the blog again, forever love your content! Hope you are doing well. This dress is super dreamy! You mentioned in your previous blog post about suggestions for content – you’re so inspiring when it comes to shots, and I am loving your self shooting! Would you consider doing a blog post or even IGTV about how you self shoot / any tips or tricks you have? Xx
Hi Megan, glad you’re back! Hope you’re doing well! Love this lilac post and the back garden shoot. I want to let you know that you inspire me a lot with both fashion and home styling. Recently I was in doubt about a look, and I caught myself asking: What would Megan do? Haha!
Hi Megan! I’m so so glad to see that you’re back blogging again. Your platform has always been such a positive, inspiring corner of the internet and I so appreciate how much effort and energy you put into your blog (I love Instagram, but blogging has always felt much more personal – I feel like your style and creativity come through in a way that is impossible when limited to little squares). I was also reading your last post and just want to say that I completely understand and support you! Social media has lead to a level of connectivity that, while in some ways is really incredible, can also result in people feeling like they’re entitled to know more about your life than you’re willing to share, and you should never feel like you need to please everyone. I’m excited to see what you create going forwards, especially in terms of fashion and style content – in some ways it’s like a throwback to the older blogging days when everyone was just creating and sharing what they were passionate about.
I really really love this look – I’ve been so into crochet lately, and I recently bought a crocheted cardigan that I’ve been wearing constantly in the evenings and on cooler days (especially with floral dresses). It is nostalgic whilst also being very of the moment (the best pieces in my opinion, because they’re always the most timeless)! It reminds me a lot of Sharon Tate, who is one of my greatest style muses. This Kate Spade dress is dreamy; I especially love the lilac colour and how the logo is crocheted into the dress without it being too overt!
I hope you’re doing better and are feeling inspired to create again :). No matter what you decide to post or what direction you take your blog, I will be here!
What a look! Absolutely love it!! Dx
Might be useful to know you can’t replicate crochet via a machine, its all done by hand. So maybe think twice about buying some of the crochet items listed above from the likes of Nasty Gal etc. (who are pretty terrible anyway in terms of sustainable fashion). One of those dresses is listed for Β£24…. that baffles me, it will have taken someone hours and hours to make that dress. You’re better off shopping small independent brands. Recently learned that Grandals will be the only suitable sandal for my feet, so pleased to learn that they are the hot shit of the moment. Maybe that will mean that next season I can shop sandals in other shops than old-people-orthopedic-shoe shops. So long I’ll stick to the one and only wolky sandal I could find and like.
LOVE IT! ππΌππΌ
