Hello you wonderful bunch and welcome to the first "Reworking my wardrobe" blog post. I'm so excited about this post as I know how much you lot enjoyed the video version of this and I truly loved putting them together too so thought it would work rather well as a blog post instead.
Reworking our wardrobes is more important than ever before and I'm hoping that these posts will inspire you to rework even the most "boring" and "mundane" of pieces and reinvent them time and time again to create something super fun and new.
I thought I'd kick things off with a look I am wearing CONSTANTLY right now due to it being January, it being cold and my need for comfort and cosiness, a look I'm sure many of you are gravitating towards right now too; the good ole jeans and jumper combination! Comfortable, warm, cosy and reliable, yet can get a little boring if overdone. So I've styled up the humble jeans and jumper combination in five different ways in the hope that it will inspire you to step out of your comfort zone, and show you that even the most simple of pieces can make for some really different and fun looks.
I'm using one of my most worn cashmere jumpers and my absolute fave jeans, styled with a variety of different pieces from my wardrobe and I truly hope you enjoy.

The first look is a very simple look and one that lets the jeans and jumper do the talking. A look you can wear for many an occasion and a look that is totally timeless! A simple and classic look that I'm sure many of you can recreate using pieces you already have in your wardrobe. I've paired the jeans and jumper with one of my favourite purchases of all time, a classic black wool coat from & Other Stories which works to smarten up the casual get up a little bit alongside my seventies style ankle boots and cross body Gucci bag.

Next up I thought I'd show how I'd take my fave jeans and jumper combination seamlessly into an evening look. Honestly I can't tell you how often I've been rocking this look lately, particularly over Christmas time. It's such an easy look yet in my opinion super cool!
Paired with a leather oversized blazer and my trusty socks and platform sandals situation, I can always rely on this combination to add a little something something to a simple look.
The metallics from the shoes and bag again adds a certain something to the outfit which creates the perfect evening ensemble. This outfit can of course be worn in the day time too, I'd just switch out the bag and the shoes for something a little more casual.

Now for a bit of colour, huzzah!
Layering knitwear over knitwear is one of my fave layering hacks at this time of year and usually it means you can leave your coat at home, as I mentioned in this post here.
The versatile grey shade means it's perfect for pairing with all kinds of colours to add a little life into a miserable January. Whether it's a cardigan or a jumper, layering knitwear in this way creates a super fun look whilst keeping it cosy and winter appropriate. Tying in the pink of the jumper with my new Converse babies this is a look I've been rocking fairly regularly lately for casual work days in town, my oversized Burberry tote filled with laptop, notepads and 72,000 lipsticks of course...

If you follow me over on Instagram you'll be fairly acquainted with this look and how I just love layering high neck pieces underneath a band T-Shirt, particularly this vintage Queen tee (best vintage find ever!!!!)
T-Shirts are usually layered underneath jumpers at this time of year but I'm SO into layering T-Shirts over the top of things, I'm particularly partial to recreating this look from 2017 very soon, what do you think?
An oversized tee layered over the top of a jumper is a great way for you to rework your fave spring T-shirt's in a warm and winter appropriate kinda way. Throw on an additional layer, perhaps a coat, blazer or for the ultimate in cosiness a fleece jacket, this one is by Lazy Oaf and their brand new Flinstones collaboration... HOW FREAKING AWESOME!
And yes, the baker boy caps are back in business, it feels good to be reunited!

And last but no means least how about throwing on one of your fave summer shirts over your knitwear to create a new look entirely? I was going to go for the classic flannel checked shirt but then thought how about mixing it up with a crisp white shirt from the summertime... Fun eh?
I really LOVE the proportions of this look, particularly with the balloon sleeves when paired with the straight leg jeans. Throwing on that classic black coat once again (it honestly works with everything...duh!) a black beret and my absolute favourite Gucci shoes.
And so there we go, five ways to rework your wardrobe this winter and get some fun out of your trusty jeans and jumper combination. What do you think and which looks are your faves?
x M
I love that there’s been a new post every time I’ve come on here recently haha. The pink cardigan look is my fave but that Lazy Oaf Flintstones jacket is pretty amazing. ๐ xx

Also proper chuffed you like the looks! x
Yayyyy I’m so happy you turned these from video to blog format – they were my fave videos of yours on your Youtube and have transitioned perfectly into something readable. The baker boy on you is iconic, I’m convinced you were the reason for their comeback in the first place! I’m certainly blaming you for the number of baker boys I have… ๐
Hey Amy, I’m so chuffed that you like the new format, I personally think it transferred quite well from video to blog ๐
HAHA HELLS YES TO THE REBIRTH OF THE BAKER BOY! x
“Comfortable, warm, cosy and reliable”, well those are my keys words! Especially in winter!

I love, love, love these! I’m finding it hard to choose a favourite ๐ I have a similar Uniqlo (it’s one of my fave stores atm!) jumper but in green, so I’m definitely keeping these styles in mind for when I travel to a cold city. ๐
Ahhh Izzy I am so so glad you like all the looks ๐ x
hey! I was wondering if you found a way to sort out the slipping at the back of these Gucci loafers? I have them and they KILL my feet (the slipping causes awfuuuuul blisters). I need your help on this! ๐
I love that you’re focusing on the blog in 2020, your writing is the best.
Love from Paris,
Marie
To be honest I haven’t as with an insole they become too tight across my toes but for me they don’t rub, just slip. Sorry babe and hope you manage to sort them out, too good a pair of shoes not to wear x
I saw that pair of converse on their website the other day and thought they were so you…and saw this post haha
Love the last and the one with the band t-shirt! The last look is so well proportioned both in colors and overall vibes, not overelegant or too costumey, not predictable in use of colors, yet still stylish in a delicate way. love your styling!
You know me well girlie ๐ x
Hey Megan! Just looove this new category! I think it’s so important to reinvent your wardrobe thinking about the climate and also the value of clothes plus it’s super fun ๐ The outfits are stunning, yet easy, exactly my taste. Keep on rocking your blog like that, please! ๐
