I genuinely can't believe that I'm here again, recapping over the past couple of months and whether or not I achieved the goals I set out to do. You lot know the drill by now that every season I set myself some goals to hopefully tick off throughout that particular season. I find that this keeps me on track, keeps me motivated and with something to allow me to keep on keeping on. I wouldn't say that I feel bound to these particular goals, and as the months pass by new goals come into play that I didn't even know I wanted to achieve, however I do find it somewhat cathartic to sit and write out my goals for you and I to read back on in a few months time.
Summer quite literally zoomed by and until now, I didn't really know what I had and hadn't achieved when it came down to the rather realistic goals that I put in place back then (see them here). So, let's get cracking shall we and if you'd like some inspiration for your goals this season then check out the "goals" archive here.

Be More On It With House Stuff
Now this is something I think I have achieved this year, I wanted to be on it with house stuff when I see that something needs doing. I wanted to do it right away and be proactive rather than making a mental note or adding it to the list of things to do.
I have a real love for old, period properties and with that comes quite the bit of maintenance, and having been a home owner now for two years, I've learnt a lot about what it means to be a own a period property and what happens when you're not quick to sort out a problem. So, with that I'm more on it than ever before, if something needs fixing, it gets fixed straight away. If something needs cleaning, it gets cleaned there and then.
Of course life gets in the way sometimes but it's an ongoing goal that I'm keen to stick with as we grow into our beautiful new home together.
Learn Something New
I wanted to learn something new throughout the warmer months and when I first read over this goal I thought damn it... I didn't learn anything new.
Nothing like the things I hoped to learn such as a hobby, a creative outlet outside of my businesses like a language or an artistic talent or getting back into some form of physical activity... So certainly something to think about for the months ahead. However, I would say that I did in fact tick this one off as I finally learnt how to drive... HURRAH! I passed my driving test back in August and whilst I wouldn't say I'm totally comfortable behind the wheel of a car just yet, I'm certainly getting there as I push myself every day to get out there and drive.

Eat Better & Continue with ALL THE WATER!
I wouldn't say that things have really changed a lot when it comes to my diet. I'm still all about balance, still cooking the same recipes each and every week and I'm still rationing the amount of meat that we cook and eat at home. What I would say though is that this summer has been heavy on the celebrating front; what with us getting engaged, moving house and successfully opening a second Jimmy's in Liverpool... There's been a lot of celebrating which of course means a lot of drinking...
George and I said only this weekend that we're going to take a couple of weeks off the celebrating front as we prepare for the festive period, so this goal is certainly one that will carry on into the colder months.
Have More Fun
Following on from the summer of 2018 which was the best summer of my entire life I wanted to have an even better summer this year, which I certainly did. This summer was the best summer of my life, trumping that of 2018. We celebrated our birthdays in Cornwall, got engaged in New York, saw Queen live at Madison Square Garden, we moved house, we went to Leeds Festival and we had a whole lotta fun in between. Yep, I certainly had more fun and can 100% confirm that this goal is ticked the hell off.

Say Yes To Things That Scare Me
This is what I said back in June about this particular goal "I used to always say YES, and honestly I think it’s had a lot to do with where I am today, but since settling down in our gorgeous home in Manchester I’m finding myself saying no more. And whilst I think it’s super important to trust your gut, it’s also important to do things that scare you and I’ve turned into someone who shies away from things that are a little outside of my comfort zone or that worry or scare me a touch" ...This goal is to be continued and definitely not getting crossed off the list this time around damn it!

And that's it on the goal front this time, not a bad couple of months for making movements in both my personal and my business life but definitely not my best season for nailing my goals, but hey, you win some you lose some and I guess you could say I was too busy achieving my goal of "having more fun" to really focus on the other goals this time around. I'll be back in a week or so with my next set of goals, granted a little later than usual but hey, thats alright.
Did you set any goals for yourself this summer? I'd love to hear if you managed to cross any off?

I love reading these kinds of reflecting blogposts and oh my gawd this outfit!!! I think it suits you so well and these boots are just the dreamiest thing.
I’m so glad to hear that Marlena, thanks so much for reading x
Hi Megan! I red all in here and I think you are very inspiring me and all people who reads your blog! By the way 2019 is not finished yet so you have couple of months to finish your goals and by the way I think this 2019 was and still is your year, you have your license to drive, you are engaged, you moved in a brand new home and launching your personal brand and as you said you have lot of fun too! A year full of news, good news!
I think I’ll do the same! I will focus on my incomplete goals and try to close this year in best way!
(sorry for my bad English, I am trying to improve it)
I bloody love your boots! And finally I’ve learned the brand
Keep on smiling and keep on shining Megan!
Adriana thank you for the gorgeous comment, it truly means so much 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement, that is ever so kind of you! Good luck with your goals and closing the year on a high x
