I thought it was about time I got back to regular blogging, what do we say?
Since getting back from New York I’ve been busying away working on other projects, home life and of course the beginnings of wedding planning along with the most fun weekend EVER at Leeds Festival, but more on that soon.
It feels really great to be slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things despite things being busier than ever, busier, but extremely exciting indeed!
These photos were shot a couple of months back now when the sun was shining and Faye and I took the dogs out for a little walk around the park. Days like that always get me thinking about my happy places, the little places in life that make me instantly happy and completely grateful for all I have in life. Those happy places aren’t always places I can get to so easily or often but I thought I’d share them with you today since these photos were shot in one of said happy places.

I adore living in North Manchester and having such easy access to the city centre but leaving the hustle and bustle of the city and returning to the suburbs is definitely my happy place.
Particularly the fact that we have Heaton Park super nearby. It’s one of the most beautiful parks, particularly during the week when there is nothing but joggers and dog walkers and it’s super peaceful and quiet.
Being amongst nature, with the sun shining down and my little pups (ideally without the temptation of squirrels for them to chase…) is something I’ve really learnt to appreciate as I’ve gotten older. Just 10 minutes of walking every day does wonders for my soul and for my mind and is often one of the happiest parts of my day. The park, along with our lovely home in Manchester are two of my most happiest of places.

Having just returned from the most insane weekend at Leeds Festival where the weather was out of this world incredible, 30 degrees and pure sunshine throughout our 4 days at the festival it really was a weekend to remember. I always feel so super happy and free when at a music festival, particularly when the sun’s shining, something that I’m learning is paramount to how I feel. There really is nothing like being in a field surrounded by some of my favourite humans with a warm beer in my hand and listening to some incredible acts. This was my fourth time at Reading and Leeds fest and as it was the first festival I ever went to it really does hold a special place in my heart. The Foo Fighters, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Royal Blood and The 1975 were my absolute highlights and added to the fact that this weekend, at my happy place with my happy people was a weekend I will never, ever forget.

New York, I bet you knew that was going to end up in this post didn’t you!
New York has always been a city I’ve been infatuated with. I dreamt of visiting the Big Apple throughout my teens only to be surprised with a trip for my 18th birthday with my beautiful family. As soon as I got there I knew it was the most special place on earth and it lived up to all of my expectations and then some.
I’ve since been super lucky to visit many times again, three times with George. We headed there on our first holiday back in November 2015 having been together for just three months. It was the place we truly fell in love and it fast became our special happy place.
We returned in the summer of 2018 and on the same weekend in 2019 for our 4th anniversary where he then proposed in a helicopter over Manhattan. Just when you thought a place couldn’t be any more special or magical something like that happens, knocks you for six and you see the city you love again for the first time. New York is up there with my ultimate happy place, a city filled with the most incredible and happiest of memories and a place that we will continue to visit, hopefully every year to remember the happiest day of our lives.

And so there we have my four happy places, our home, the park, a music festival and New York City. Four very different places but all super special for very different reasons! I love how getting older means you truly appreciate the smaller things in life, the things you may have once taken for granted. I love learning what truly makes me happy and embracing those things to the fullest!
I’d love to hear about your happy places so do drop me a comment and we can chat it out in the comments.
It feels good to be back 🙂
