This is so exciting! I can finally announce that the long awaited Saturday By Megan Ellaby T-Shirt collection is here! It’s been a long ole process, a process that has been fascinating, creatively stimulating in ways I never imagined but a process that, as is with anything new, was challenging at times. And with those challenges came delays that were completely out of my hands so I’m truly sorry it’s been a while, but I hope that you will agree that it was well worth the wait!
Saturday is back with a 6 piece collection of T-shirts, a collection we are naming the “core collection” and a collection I am so insanely proud of. You can head to YouTube to see and hear more about each piece but I also wanted to share some images and some info about the designs here too.
Each T-shirt is made from 100% cotton and honestly, it is the softest cotton I have ever had the pleasure of wearing. Quality is at the heart of everything we do so I’m chuffed to bits with the quality and softness of the cotton. I’ve had my set of samples for a few months now and have been secretly wearing them all the damn time. I’ve since washed them at least 6 times now and I’m proud to say that the cotton and the fit of each piece hasn’t faltered one bit.
Within the collection there are three fits; The Boyfriend, The Girlfriend and The Ringer, all of which I totally adore for different reasons which I’ll go into below. I’m wearing a small in the photos below and the prices vary from £30 or £35, a price that I know you’ll agree is pretty amazing for such a high quality garment. The collection officially launches on Saturday 27th July at 10am so I do hope I'll see you all there.
But anyway, enough of my waffling, lets get down to the collection itself… EEEEE!
So first up we have the Amy tee.
The Amy is in a girlfriend fit which means it’s relaxed yet a little more fitted than your traditional boyfriend fit tee. Featuring the most amazing striped design in my much loved primary colour palette and with the Saturday clam logo beautifully embroidered on the left breast.
This is an absolute wardrobe failsafe, particularly as we all love our stripe tee’s so much. I’ve ensured that each tee tucks seamlessly into anything high waisted so it naturally looks amazing with anything you pair it with… Even with leopard print for the ultimate print clash, see my YouTube video if you don’t believe me 😉
The Amy- £35
Next is the Lulu tee.
The Lulu comes in a retro ringer fit and is the most figure flattering shape EVER! It was important for me to pay homage to my love of the 1970s so in steps both the Lulu and the Dana tee, but more on Dana a little later.
It was clear from the first merino wool collection for Saturday that you lot LURRRRRVE the colour combination pink and red, just like me, so I simply had to incorporate that into the first T-Shirt collection too. Along with the retro “Saturday” typography, the ringer fit and super soft cotton, the star is also flocked so super tactile and seriously cute.
The Lulu- £30
Now for the turn of the Nelly tee.
The Nelly comes in a boyfriend fit, I wanted it to seem as though you have quite literally stolen it from your boyfriend's wardrobe. It’s super relaxed, oversized and the perfect every day go-to plain white tee.
Championing the Saturday pink shade it features an adorable pink embroidered clam to the left breast. A failsafe for your wardrobe and hopefully a piece that sticks around with the colour of the cotton and the embroidery changing seasonally. Tuck it into jeans or leave it hanging loose, Nelly looks fab either way.
The Nelly- £30
In the same boyfriend fit as Nelly we now have the Fee tee.
The Fee tee features a divine tie-dye wash on the same cotton as the rest of the collection. The Fee is hand dyed so each piece will vary slightly which I think you’ll agree adds to the charm of the T-shirt.
Along with the tie-dye the Fee has an insane back motif, a design I’m so super duper proud of and a little bit obsessed with I must admit.
I would LOVE to continue with this motif across a number of upcoming designs so I truly, truly hope you love it too.
We've had a bit of delay with Fee so we will be joining the crew in a couple of weeks time.
The Fee- £35
Now it’s The Dana tee’s turn in the spotlight.
The second ringer fit to the collection and inspired by non other than Mick Jagger and this photo of him that I’ve always loved so much. We know from the previous collection that you’re also partial to a bit of green and pink so that, with the inspiration taken from Mr Jagger brought us to the Dana tee, isn’t she a cutie. I just love having the large clam logo as the centrepiece to this tee and I think you’ll agree it gives all the retro vibes.
The Dana- £30
And last but no means least is The Lennie tee.
Similarly to The Amy, Lennie comes in a Girlfriend fit but this time with the gorgeous rainbow tipping to the collar and the sleeves. I’m a little bit in love with The Lennie and I know you will be too. She has a super cute blue embroidered clam to the left breast and is bound to be a failsafe in your wardrobe forever more.
