Howdy from sunny Brighton, well today at least!
I'm writing this on the morning that this post is set to go live, not something I've done in years and years! I'm currently waiting for the morning's brunch-joint-of-choice to open and fancied writing a little summin summin, so here we are. I bloody love Brighton, it's one of my favourite places in the UK and totally somewhere I could see myself living. The people are lovely, the architecture is adorable and it has absolutely everything you could ever want in a city including great shops (particularly independent) an insane array of bars and restaurants and of course the beach! I just love it and I am pretty sad about leaving later today.
Faye and I headed down here for a little girlie staycation, to create some summer content for both myself and Saturday (T-Shirts coming SO SO soon!) and I have finally gotten the two tattoos I've being thinking about for the past two years HURRAH! But more on that some other time. The weather has been good to us and I've been able to don some of my latest summer pieces and it's been soso lovely, however there was one item I didn't pack that I really wish I had.

And it's this dress, another piece of Rixo to add to my ever growing collection (I'm on 4 now!) This little number is a piece I think about wearing every day, a piece that makes me feel INSANE whenever I wear it! I'm really learning the value of having special pieces like this in my wardrobe, pieces I REALLY, TRULY and DESPERATELY want to wear on most occasions. It's so nice to have pieces that excite me the way this dress does and pieces that I can always rely on to fall back on when a particular occasion arises.

Despite it's bold blue shade, there's something about this dress that is working wonders for my wardrobe. I think it has something to do with the black tiger print running throughout it that makes it that little less... Blue I guess.
The cut of this dress is truly beautiful and makes me feel really rather sexy indeed. You know how I feel about a deep V neckline and showing off my décolletage, well that love is intensified when a statement shoulder and a handful of covered buttons are involved too. Not to mention the maxi length with the centre split which allows this 5ft4 gal to finally feel comfortable in a longer length.

What I'm really enjoying so much about the two latest Rixo dresses in my life (see here) and to be honest the majority of the little summer dresses I've been investing in lately, is their sheer versatility. As you know from this post here I'm not wanting to save my best for best any longer, I want to dress them down to get ample styling opportunities out of them and thats what I love so much about this dress.
It looks equally as amazing with trainers as you can see here, as it does with killer platform heels, pointed court shoes, ankle or knee length boots. It takes a really special dress to work in this way and that is something I feel Rixo do so well. Yes, they're a little on the pricey side of life (there's a number of them on sale now though) but when it comes to styling possibilities and my need for wanting to wear it every single day, it's worth every single penny.

What do you think to todays styling job? Styled with my trusty summer plimsoles of choice by Veja, my second hand Maje jacket (hello print clash) and classic black accessories.
Do you have any more statement pieces such as this dress that you just yearn to wear day in and day out? I'd love to hear about them.

Bloody love this outfit! You’re really making me want to splurge on some Rixo pieces!
Do it girlie! I personally think they’re well worth it x
I love how fearless you are when it comes to bold patterns, colors, and layering – your style is so inspiring to me for this reason! I totally get the importance of having pieces that you want to wear again and again – I have a moss green jacket and shorts set that I am absolutely in love with and want to wear all summer! The colour is definitely a statement and I don’t know if I would have picked it up a couple of years ago, but seeing how effortlessly you style bold colours inspired me to try it on, and I am obsessed! Love love this post.
Oh Sydney thank you so much for all your gorgeous comments, truly means a lot! Moss green is such a beautiful colour, one of my faves actually! Thanks for reading babe x
