How was your weekend? I hope it was a gooden. Mine was ultra mundane but ultra necessary and I loved the freedom of having absolutely nothing planned. The majority was spent at home with the spring sunshine shining through the open windows, the fresh air very much appreciated, oh how I love this time of year.
A relaxed weekend it was, however we did take sausage dog one and two out for a couple of monstrous walks with my uncle and his Saluki cross Flynn. Our little dachshunds have never been overly great with other dogs, aside from George's parents pups, so we've been working really hard to socialise them as often as we can. They have one or two group dog walks with a dog trainer during the week then on the weekends we head out with my uncle and his pooch for an adventure. And an adventure it is, scaling hills, climbing over fences and battling the longest grass I've ever seen, it's been so fun and totally heart warming watching them get acquainted with other dogs and exploring in this way! Exploring and adventures aplenty and little Nancy even fell into a lake which was absolutely hilarious! She lost her footing whilst taking a quick drink and PLOP(!) straight into the lake. A bath was certainly on the cards for that little lady.
Aside from that, some delicious Ramen at one of Manchester's latest foodie joints and that pretty much sums up our weekend at home. I adore weekends like that; especially when you know life is about to get ever so busy.
Next weekend we are heading to Warrington for Neighbourhood Weekender and the following weekend I'm in Barcelona for Primavera festival which I am so freaking excited about. Festival season is one of my fave times of the year and I'm excited to slip into a summer dress and sing my heart out to some of my favourite bands with some of my favourite people!

Today I fancied chatting diary style. When I've been on the go a fair bit (weekends aside) I struggle to come up with the words or ideas for meatier blogposts, so I hope you don't mind a bit of a waffle with today's post. I'm feeling SO damn good right now I have to say. Having had a rather exciting day of meetings in London last week, followed by the dreamiest few days in Norwich with mega angel babe Helen, in which we hired a boat and sailed up the Norfolk Broads (see more in my latest video) I’m feeling really rather fuzzy inside. I think it’s a concoction of feeling totally fulfilled with my work, my social life and personally with the way I feel about myself, oh and of course hefty dose of sunshine is always good for the soul.
I’ve become a real Reflective Rita of late- allowing myself to take time to remember what I’ve got, what I’ve done and what I’ve achieved. Taking just a couple of moments a week, particularly when I’m on the verge of feeling stressed, uninspired or low, really works to add a pep to my step and levels me out a little bit.

As well as feeling mentally sound I’m feeling really great about work and everything I’m creating right now. It’s so awesome to feel like you’ve got things balanced and to be enjoying everything that I’m doing again. Whether that’s creating YouTube videos, imagery for Instagram or writing blogposts, particularly since my blog got a style update, I’m really enjoying being creative and hopefully it is translating across to you lot too.
I’m also feeling pretty damn good about the way I look too, which isn’t something I ever thought I’d say. Having struggled with my skin for the past two years it’s nice to-finally feel that I’m getting to grips with what my skin does and doesn’t need and I can just about see results. The glow is back thanks to a few key products (I’ll chat about them soon) and the spots are finally few and far between. All I need to do is get rid of the scars and darker marks they’ve left behind and we’ll be back on track, if you have any great remedies for this then please do let me know.

My skin, combined with my new lighter locks and of course the addition of a hair clip or two are bringing me such joy, it’s definitely all about the small things in life.
The two I’m wearing here are personal favourites, but trust me my collection is pretty hefty indeed. The rainbow pearl barrette is by Girl With Pearls from July Child, and as soon as I laid eyes on it I knew it just had to be mine, such a beauty of a piece right!? The second was a super kind gift from Lollipop The Brand and one that made me squeal with excitement when I opened it. I mean a personalised hair accessory... hello! There’s something about a nostalgic trend such as the whole hair accessory thing that I just cannot resist. It’s like jelly shoes, if I loved them as a kid, I love them right now too.
But tell me, how are you feeling?
x M
It’s lovely to hear how well you’re doing, and very inspiring! I’m feeling a bit wobbly after returning back to work after having a long and fabulous break – but I love the idea of setting time aside for reflection. P.s. love the changes to your blog 🙂
Oh darling, sorry to hear you’re feeling wobbly, I hope you’re back on track now? Thanks so much for being so lovely as always babe, lots of love x
So nice to hear everything is going well for you quite holistically! I feel a bit lost and tired with everything at the moment, but I know is temporary. I will be in Primavera Sound next week as well though! Hope to stumble upon you! Greetings from Barcelona 💕
Oh Lea thank you darling. I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling a little lost, we all have those moments but I truly hope that you’re feeling better <3 x
