Hello everyone, I hope you all had a truly gorgeous bank holiday weekend, despite how rubbish the weather was this time around...
I’m writing this on the way back to Manchester after a glorious couple of days in North Yorkshire with George’s family. Saturday was spent with our closest pals celebrating one of my oldest friends birthday, which was filled with G&T's and a game of bowling (which I royally sucked at!) Happy birthday Katie ❤️
After a few days away from all things online, and no, I haven’t had chance to watch the finale of Line Of Duty yet... damn it(!!!) I really felt and still do feel excited to get stuck into work this week. I’ve got lots of ideas floating around my head for blog post topics, YouTube videos and I'm just generally excited to get a little bit creative over the next couple of weeks, before the travel kicks in again. Isn’t it funny how similar life is to that of buses... Absolutely nothing comes and then suddenly everything comes all at once; well that’s pretty much how I’m feeling now, excited and ready for a summer full of travel.

But anyhoo onto today’s post.
Something I really wanted to focus on this year was outfits I wear continuously over and over again. It’s easy and super fun to show you what’s new in my wardrobe but what’s real are the outfits you don’t often see. The outfits I wear to relax in on the weekends, the outfits I go to for travelling and the looks I choose for drinks with friends and family after work, yet they’re the outfits that go unseen as I’m often “off duty” whilst rocking them. So instead I’m making a conscious effort to share them with you as I continue my pledge to shop less and work my wardrobe more.

SUNGLASSES- RAYBAN c/o SUNGLASSES SHOP, BLAZER- TOPSHOP, TSHIRT- c/o ETRE CECILE, JEANS- & OTHER STORIES, SHOES- TOPSHOP, BAG- c/o MCM, EYE RING- c/o JULY CHILD, GREEN SIGNET- MISSOMA, PINKY SIGNET RING- THEODORA WARRE

And with that we have my go-to day-to-night look.
I’ve mentioned a few times how I tend to struggle with evening appropriate looks, particularly at this time of year when it can get a lil chilly in the evenings, yet it’s important to look seasonally appropriate which sadly means saying sayonara to my trusty faux fur coats.
Evening looks are one thing but day-to-night looks are a different thing entirely as getting the balance right without lugging about everything but the kitchen sink to ensure your look is “out out” enough can be tough.
After years of working in an office and more recently working out of home yet arranging after work drinks with pals, I think I’ve found my jam with day-to-night outfits.
Usually revolving around a blazer, a style favourite of mine no matter what the occasion but a piece that fits seamlessly into a work wardrobe as well as an evening wardrobe too. This particular blazer is a linen piece meaning it hangs beautifully off the body creating a stunning silhouette. And not to mention it comes in the most stunning pistachio meets apple green shade, which is perfect for nailing one of this seasons must have colours.
Paired with a simple graphic Tshirt by Etre Cecile to dress it down a notch or two and with my fave high waisted “smart” jeans from & Other Stories.
Throwing in a barely there heel and a box bag takes the look from day-to-night instantly but fear not, if trainers or boots are more your bag, they will work just as magically too.

So there we have a very real day-to-night look, something you’ll often catch me in after hours. What do you think? I’d love to hear about your go-to day-to-night look.
x M
Absolutely loving seeing your pieces being worn again. The colour of that blazer is everything.
It’s the most delicious colour EVER isn’t it!! x
