Every now and again a dress comes into your peripheral that you totally fall in love with. This season it is the turn of Martha by Rixo.
A pricey little lady she may be, but I've already got the cost-per-wear down quite substantially having worn her 4 times in just 2 months! And despite the Martha being quite the statement piece with her maxi silhouette, thigh length split and clashing print I’ve had a ball styling her up in many different ways.
First up I rocked her in Marrakech whilst away last month in the desert, teamed simply with a pair of killer cowboy boots by Ganni and an oversized pair of sunglasses from Chloe. It was the perfect look for tackling the sandstorms whilst still looking and feeling awesome. Made from a truly beautiful silk it is extremely lightweight meaning it is the perfect dress for any holidays you have coming up this season.

Secondly I wore the Martha Rixo dress to my Aunties 50th birthday party and upped the styling ante a little by adding yet another print with my trusty failsafe snake knee boots. Scraping my hair off my face and into a high ponytail fit with a plait, I then layered up the jewellery and threw on a leather biker jacket which took the dress from holiday to party seamlessly. This transition is something that makes this dress such a great piece for me to have in my wardrobe as both summer dressing and party styling aren't my forte, therefore having a go-to dress hanging in my wardrobe for all occasions makes getting ready all the more easy, and the fact that I am quite literally itching to wear it is quite the bonus!

And finally, I couldn’t wait to wear my new fave dress again so wore her just two weeks later to my sisters birthday meal at The Ivy in Manchester. It was a beautifully sunny day in the city over the Easter break so I wore her with my usual texturised waves and a simple pair of white plimsolls by Veja. I have a funny feeling this exact look will be worn a hell of a lot throughout the summer months as it was the perfect combination of boy-meets-girl styling, which is always a winner in my book.
I’m really enjoying investing smarter with the pieces that really make my heart sing rather than spending frivolously on every dress that catches my eye. I invested in a beautiful red linen mini dress by Reformation last year which I cannot wait to whack out again this season; it’s so refreshing to be excited to wear something over and over and over again.
I really hope you enjoyed this post, despite it being a little more casual than the norm, but I thought it would be nice to just chat about something I love in the hope that we all get over the “can’t wear again as Instagram has seen it” culture, do you know what I’m saying?
Which is your fave look? And do let me know how you’d style it, I am SO up for all the ways to wear this beautiful investment piece.

I am in love with this dress! You just make everything look amazing with those snakeskin boots, don’t you?!
Ahhh thanks babe! But yes, those boots are bloody belters for making literally EVERYTHING look great x
Love the different ways you’ve styled this beautiful dress! Totally agree that we need to get over the “can’t wear this because Instagram has seen it” and it’s great to see you promoting this 🤩
I’m so glad you like the styling of my fave dress, I honestly can’t stop wearing it!
Thanks babe, so glad you agree x
This dress is gorgeous, my favorite styling option is the one with the snake boots.
If I owned it, I’d wear it with espadrilles or at least sandals that you lace up around the ankles 🙂
Thanks so much lovely Madeline, that means a lot! I’m itching to wear with wedged wrap up espadrilles, roll on summer!! x
