Anyone else absolutely sick to the back teeth of this oh so depressing weather!? COME ON SPRING PLEASE HURRY UP!
We’ve had sprinklings of great weather lately which has got me so excited for all things spring styling which is exactly what I’m going to chat about today with this look.
But firstly I must say a ginormous thank you to you all for the incredible reaction to the latest Saturday knit, The Ultimate Saturday knit! The response was quite frankly shocking for me and I can’t believe that we have very nearly sold out of all sizes already! BONKERS! If you have no idea what I’m talking about then do check out this blogpost here or this video if thats more your style, to take a peek at the newest piece in the Saturday family and to see how I’ve styled up the older designs ready for spring too.

Speaking of spring, this look here is the kind of look you can expect to see me rocking a hell of a lot this season. Consisting of all my favourite things including jeans, a T-shirt and a fancy handbag and shoe combination. Not to mention a pop of colour (albeit rather subtly in this look thanks to the sunglasses and a hint of red through the print of the blazer) and a statement print.
A look that is SO current for the season ahead, incorporating key trends such as neutrals and oversized tailoring but that features a 1980s piece by Burberry that I bagged on eBay for a bargain £100.
I’ve got a real bug for shopping second hand and vintage lately, particularly when it means finding something that is so key for the current season, there really is no other buzz quite like it!

Working the old with the new to create a unique look is what makes styling fun for me and that always keeps me coming back for more. As I mentioned in a recent blog post (thanks so much for all your gorgeous words on that) I’ve recently come to realise how important it is to stay completely and utterly true to yourself and your failsafe pieces, no matter how bored of them you may become. It’s those pieces that when you’re at your lowest and most lost style wise that allow you to recenter yourself once more and bring you back to your best self and for me a good ole jeans, tee and blazer combination is just that, along with a handful of other pieces that I’m sure you can all guess by now ey?

There’s something about a blazer that really makes me feel powerful, particularly when teamed with jeans as it feels like a somewhat rule breaking situation ~ The idea of pairing something so traditionally smart with something that is typically casual.
In fact as I write this blogpost I’m wearing that exact combination and feeling really rather bad ass indeed, a stark contrast to how I felt when I woke this morning. I think it’s also in the touches of masculinity that allow me to feel both powerful and rule breaking, it’s my go-to combination when I’m not feeling particularly confident, positive or outgoing as this type of ensemble acts as an armour against the world, my superhero uniform that transforms my mentality almost instantly.

Whilst I’m on the subject of transforming ones mentality I must say that I am truly thankful for all the light that has been shed on sustainability in the last year. It’s really allowed me to reevaluate the way I view fashion, consumerism and my own personal wardrobe and has allowed me to shop in a very different way to what I had previously. Now, instead of buying all things new in order to create content for my blog, Instagram and YouTube channel, I’m digging a little deeper to come up with fresh ways to discuss all things fashion without forking out on an all new wardrobe. I’m also scouring places such as charity shops, vintage emporiums, eBay and Vestiaire Collective to get a second hand version of that must have trend piece which is honestly so much fun!
And that is exactly how I got my hands on this blazer, a piece I’ve been wearing SO much recently whether that be layering underneath larger blazers and coats (it is made of linen after all) or rocking it buttoned up with a pair of leather trousers and heels for a night out, it really is a versatile little baby.
However, I truly think that it’ll come into it’s own in the summer time when worn open with a plain white tee and a pair of cut off denim shorts… A girl can dream ey!? COME ON SUMMER!
I'd love to hear how you would style it?

There’s something so satisfying about stumbling across a great vintage piece that you can’t get when buying high street. I’ve always been a lover of vintage coats and blazers and I must say this one is absolutely gorgeous! x
