Why hello you gorgeous humans and Merry Christmas! How was it? I hope you all had a good one spent with your loved ones.
I had a really gorgeous time back home with my family and had a very unexpected and lovely surprise when George turned up on Boxing Day, just lovely!
I’ve eaten more food than I care to admit and drank a heck load of Prosecco and Cafe Partron…Oops, but alas it was just fabulous and this week between Christmas and New Year is always my favourite week of the year!
I thought I’d share with you a look that I intend to rock for New Years Eve in a couple of days time. It’s one of those looks that’s not overly festive and lends itself perfectly to being worn after the festivities have left us.
A co-ord by & Other Stories in the most beautiful of coloured stripes, it’s a get-up that I feel looks a hell of a lot more spendy that it actually is.
The top is made from a really lovely, flowing and somewhat sheer taffeta-style fabric whilst the skirt is a heavier brushed cotton. I really like this mix up of textures and think it’s a really interesting way of doing a co-ord don’t you think?

As always a co-ord, similarly to that of a two piece suit, is a really great way to do party dressing as it means you have ample opportunity to restyle. Pair the top with your favourite jeans and throw on the skirt with a T-Shirt as I did in this photo here.
But when paired together it seriously packs a punch and the stripes are really rather pleasing on the eye too!
I’ve never really been one for midi skirts such as this as in all honesty I didn’t think they were right for my 5ft4 frame. However, when paired with a set of sixties style knee boots, of course in a snake print pattern for maximum impact, I feel that it works perfectly for me. In fact I’d even go as far as saying that this kind of look, midi skirt + knee boot, is one of my favourite ways to style myself of late.

TOP-c/o & OTHER STORIES, SKIRT- c/o & OTHER STORIES, BOOTS- ASOS (old, SIMILAR HERE), CHARM BRACELET- c/o SWAROVSKI, JACKET- MAJE, BAG- STELLA MCCARTNEY, EYESHADOW PALETTE- ESTEE LAUDER, LIP CRAYON- CHANEL- CASSIS

Keeping my hair relaxed with a messy low pony tail I’ve upped the ante with a festive spot of make up using the Estee Lauder La Dangereuse Palette on my eyes and a deep red lip colour with my favourite Chanel Lip Crayon in Shade Cool Plum
Throw in your favourite “Out Out” bag and you’re good to go, whether you’re staying in at a house party or heading out on the town, this is a pretty failsafe New Years Eve look.
As it stands I don’t have any solid plans for New Years Eve, but rest assured this will be the look (or something of this ilk) that I intend to rock for the big night.
What are your plans? I’d love to hear them, perhaps they’ll inspire my plans too?

So with that, this is my final blogpost of 2018, what a crazy thought that is!
I’ll be back in the new year to reminisce over 2017, as it’s always nice to look back and to see how far you’ve come through the good and the bad times.
I truly hope you’ve enjoyed this post. I hope you have a gorgeous festive week and a cracking New Years Eve whether you’re in or out.
And finally, thanks for everything this year. You guys are a complete dream and I couldn’t ask for a better audience to tackle this weird old world with.
Have a good one, and roll on 2019!
Lotsa love
x M
