I REALLY wanted to call this post "The Old Megan Can't Come To The Phone Right Now..." in homage to good ole Taylor Swift and naturally due to that first photograph where I'm oh so casually on the telephone, but it felt somewhat dramatic and a little too much like click bait for a blog post that could be summarised in just one paragraph...
Whilst this year has been filled to the brim with changes both good and bad, and whilst I feel that it's been the most crazy rollercoaster ride of my life, I'm feeling somewhat reflective I have to say.
What with moving into a new home, training two puppies, experiencing my first bout of online negativity, working harder behind the scenes on passion projects than I've ever worked before, yet my day-to-day tasks such as filming videos, writing blogposts and replying to emails have suffered in the process so some think I'm being "lazy", well it's been mentally draining but all the same, an exciting year and whilst at times I've wanted to throw in the towel and pack it all in, it's nice to have come out the other side and to be feeling back to my positive and happy ways, exciting things are coming people, THIS WEEK IN FACT!
So anyway, hello there, I hope you're all doing rather well indeed.
It's 1:15 on Monday 22nd October as I'm writing this and I've tried writing this post three times already. I have a number of different ideas for how I'd like to approach this blogpost, however none seem quite right, especially as I've just summarised exactly how I'm feeling right now in just one opening paragraph... So instead I thought I'd tackle this as a diary style post and see where it takes us, how does that sound?
First up, thanks for the amazing feedback from my last couple of posts, (see them here and here) it's been really encouraging to hear how game you are for shaking things up a little around here when it comes to the topic of sustainability within the fashion industry. I've had some really great messages of support and I'm looking forward to seeing where this takes me, content wise, as I explore this further over time.
Whilst I'm never going to be 100% the best human ever, especially with what I do and all, it's certainly a step in the right direction and personally, I believe it's all about a number of small steps from both you and I that add up to make a huge step in the right direction in the long run.

This week I'm gearing up for a pretty exciting launch (did you see the first teaser last night?) so I am just beavering away at home and waiting for it to all unfold whilst the finishing touches to our home reno takes place... The carpet and runner is FINALLY going in, HURRAH! I'm so excited to have our house feeling like a home once again and I'll of course be sharing it all with you very, very soon!
I'm also heading to LA and Arizona on a very exciting press trip next week which I am so insanely stoked about! I've never visited LA or Arizona before so I'm really, seriously looking forward to exploring and ticking two new places off my travel list. I'll be sharing everything from the trip over on Instagram and in due course on here too, so stay tuned for that and who knows, I may even vlog the trip too which will be fun! Please let me know if you have any recommendations on places to visit in both destinations as I'm sure we'll have some free time to do our own thing during the trip and you guys always have the best tips!

So anyway, now that little life waffle is over and done with lets discuss today's outfit shall we!? These were shot in Paris during Paris Fashion Week by my favourite Russian friend Renata Kats. This gal, my god THIS GAL, you must all follow her on instagram immediately!
Not only is she the coolest gal I've EVER met IRL, she's so crazy awesome and fills my little heart with such joy. She has an incredible creative eye and has me looking a million times cooler than I actually am in these shots, which as I always seem to say with Renata's work, are some of my favourite shots of all time ever!
Whilst we shot in my gorgeous room for the night at The Hoxton Hotel, I remember Renata shouting "Let's create a story" "Be Somebody Different" and it really got me thinking about fashion and more specifically about personal style.
I truly love how styling can transform you into a different persona each and every day. My personas are often depicted by my mood, by the weather, by what I'm currently binge watching and what's my go-to playlist or album of the moment.

BLAZER- ASOS (sold out similar here), T-SHIRT- c/o PAUL SMITH, SKIRT- c/o ALL SAINTS, SUNGLASSES- DIOR, BOOTS- GUCCI, RING- c/o MONICA VINADER, BAG- FENDI via VESTIARE COLLECTIVE

But contrary to my mood or the weather or all of the above for that matter, an outfit I always feel absolutely KILLER in is one that incorporates all four of my wardrobe staples;
- Blazer
- Slogan T-Shirt
- A-Line Mini Skirt
- Ankle Boots
These four pieces are fabulous individually, they can each make and transform an outfit and are of course ever so truly versatile which is why they are my top 4 wardrobe staples (throw in a leather biker jacket if you want to round it up)
However, when combined in one look, well thats a force to be reckoned with if you ask me. A force that makes me feel absolutely bad ass, a force that combines my four favourite styling pieces and a force that nods ever so slightly to my love of music too, which is always how I know I'm on to an outfit winner.

The persona that is created when I wear this kind of look is a sassy one. She's someone who doesn't give a fuck, she's strong, she's powerful and she believes in herself. She knows what she wants, she knows how to go about getting it, something I need a lot of right now. I need my confidence back, I need my sass back and I certainly need to believe in myself that little bit more. That's what I love about this kind of outfit and about styling in general, it can give you that much needed boost to allow you to feel on top of your A-game, it allows you to know that you've got a firm grip on reality and your life and that you can take on whatever is thrown your way.
The girl in the oversized blazer, the slogan T-Shirt, the A-Line mini skirt and the bad ass ankle boots, well she's my favourite persona.

Whats your favourite persona? The outfit that makes you feel like the best most powerful version of you? We all have them, different outfits that allow us to be a different person for the day. I have three go-to looks for the different personas I'm wanting to portray on any particular day can you guess what the other two are? I bet, if you've been reading along for a while, that it's a bit of a no brainer for you, but alas I'd LOVE to hear them, lets chat styling personas in the comments below.
