Waheyyyy I can finally share these shots with you, Woohoo!
It feels as though these shots were taken a millions years ago now for Blogosphere magazine and with the ultra talented Alex Cameron, someone I've wanted to work with for donkeys years! So it feels pretty damn special to be able to share them with you after all this time and it's beyond exciting to actually see them in print! You can pick up a copy in WH Smiths or on the Blogosphere website if you fancy taking a peek at the little interview I did with them and for tonnes more fun articles and info on the world of blogs, YouTube and social media.

But anyway, I thought I'd make the most of having such a colourful bunch of images that truly showcase my style to the fullest to offer a few thoughts on wearing colour this season.
These looks were shot before summer began and I'm thrilled to bits to see that each and every one of these looks are still TOTALLY relevant this autumn.
It’s absolutely no secret that a world full of colour, variety and fun is something I am very fond of indeed. I have a wardrobe filled to the brim with rainbow colours (for now anyway… Hello HUGE clear out happening soon!) a house that is slowly becoming a multi-coloured dream and I want to encourage you to do the same. Living in a world of colour whether that be in your home, with you outfit choices or simply with just a wash of colour to the lips for a change; colour is a sure fired way to set you up for the day. Regardless if you’re a monochrome kinda gal, I’m sure even you can’t dispute the fact that a colourful bunch of flowers can brighten your mood or a touch of red lipstick can make you feel all the more powerful; colours evoke strong feelings deep within us and thats why I love them all so dearly.

I’ve written a few blog posts on the matter before, both of which I’ve read over and still find to be very much true today (give them a read here and here, if you fancy), so I won't go on for too long but the key things to remember for enjoying a life of colour are;
Start small- Injecting colour in small doses is the easiest way to get over your fear of colour. Throw on a colourful pair of earrings, a pair of socks or simply add a bright yellow vase to your bright white living space and see how you go. I have a funny feeling you'll be injecting a few more doses before the week is up.
Update Your Basics- This is probably my most used tip whenever anyone asks me how to be braver with colour, just simply update your basics. Your trusty plain white tee or go-to black midi skirt, switch them up with a wash of colour. Go for a yellow tee and style it as you would your usual white tee. Trial a pop of green instead of your black midi skirt and again style it with your usual suspects; this way it doesn't feel all that alien to you and your easing your way into a world of colour slowly.

Go BOLD or Go HOME- On the contrary to the above, sometimes the best way to try something new is to really throw yourself into it. Go completely BOLD with it and rock a colour from head to toe as I've done in a number of these shots here. I often find head-to-toe blue is the easiest colour to champion as you can wear your trusty blue denim which always seems to sweeten the deal a little. Go for it, rock your fave colour from head to toe in varying shades, that is absolutely my favourite way to wear colour!
Break It Up- And finally, a tip that works with all of the above tips is to break it up. Whether you're dipping your toe and starting small, updating your basics or if you're going HAM in head to toe colour, break up the colours with a touch of print and it's a little less daunting and a hell of a lot more interesting. Take the yellow look for example, the rainbow psychedelic knit by House of Holland works to break up the matchy-matchy yellow co-ord to create a look that is a little less in yo face BANANAS and a touch more palatable.

And there we have some further notes on rocking colour and being brave enough to take the plunge with it. I find that each of the rules above apply to both outfit building and home styling so go have some fun with colour today!
So thats me over and out, I truly hope you enjoyed this blogpost and hearing some more about how to style colour.
Thanks so much for reading, for all of your support and for all the love on the Blogosphere magazine feature, I'm honestly so thrilled with how it all turned out and couldn't have done it without you lot!
