Hello everyone, I hope you’re all well and good. I’m here today, reporting from my dining room table, where I’ve been sat for the past three days whilst the house is in complete disarray and I’m juggling making ALL THE BUILDERS BREWS, advising on what goes where and in what finish (etc) and trying to stop my dogs from barking at every loud bang or footstep… But more on that some other time ey??
Anyhoo, I thought I’d take this time at home to get stuck into a little guide to this seasons fashion trends, which I am really excited to share with y’all today. These are just a handful of my top trends for the season ahead, the trends that I’m excited to get cracking with this autumn/winter and the trends I think you’re gonna love just as much as me.
These are some of my fave picks from the high street with a sprinkling of luxury thrown in for good measure so I really hope you find something you just love and have to add to your basket immediately.
But, saying that, these trends are rather easy trends to nail, which is partly the reason why I love them so much; so I reckon a whole bunch of you will have some pieces that fit the trends already. Take a good look at your current wardrobes and restyle ready for Autumn, cause there aint no better feeling that being new season ready using pieces from last season… Cost per wear people!
Enjoy!
RAINBOW

Naturally I had to kick start this trend edit with some good ole rainbow didn’t I.
Rainbow was seen all over the catwalks this season, much to my delight. Take a look at Burberry, Missoni and Tom Ford for more inspiration for how to nail the trend.
My top picks from my selection above, are- ASOS Scarf, Paul Smith Patchwork Jumper, Burberry Mini Backpack, Warehouse Tote Bag and Monki Polo Neck Top.
ANIMAL PRINT

Now for our most loved print, animal print! We’ve been mad for all things leopard print for quite some time, but now things have gotten wilder with the introduction of zebra print, tiger, snake and more. Look to the likes of Ashley Williams, Bottega Veneta and Tom Ford once more for your animal print fix. My top picks- & Other Stories Patchwork Bucket Bag, Office Green Snake Print Heels, Topshop Cow Print Coat and Topshop Leopard Print Shoulder Bag.
CORDUROY

Look to the incredible A.W.A.K.E presentation for a lesson in jumbo cord and corduroy two-pieces! My top picks are: M.i.H Pink Jacket, Urban Outfitters Green Trousers, ASOS Red Trench Coat and & Other Stories Corduroy Boots, yep, thats right CORDUROY BOOTS!
UNLIKELY COLOUR COMBINATIONS

Think colour clashing but in a big way for this one. All those colours that on paper shouldn’t quite work with one another, however when styled in the right way they’re a match made in colour heaven. Look to Marc Jacobs and Balenciaga for art school lessons in colour. My top picks: ASOS Lilac Corduroy Trousers (hello 2 trends in one) & Other Stories Green Cardigan, Balenciaga Triangle Duffle Bag in Pink and of course the Jakke Green & White Faux Fur Coat.
CHECKS, CHECKS, CHECKS

And finally we have another trend that I’ve talked a wee bit about already this season, and to think it’s only just begun! Checks in all it’s forms is huge for AW18, a trend I feel the majority of us will have in our wardrobes already. If you fancy some more inspo on how to do the trend differently then look to Versace, Stella McCartney, Rochas and Balenciaga.
My top picks: Topshop Kilt, Topshop Tartan Bum Bag, & Other Stories Plaid Trousers, Monki Faux Fur Checked Coat
Plaid and rainbow prints are my favorites! Nice picks!
Hello Megan! Would you write a blog post on tips when buying in second hand stores? I moved to a new city and I am exploring the second hand stores to evaluate the best one, right now I am really into these kinds of stores.
I am a big fan! I like what you post online, either Instagram, blog and YouTube channel 🙂
Great post! Got so inspired to wear colorful clothes this autumn.
YAY! So chuffed to hear that Sara 😉 x
I can’t get enough of animal print – either leopard or snake for me! I quite fancy grabbing a cord jacket, maybe a skirt a too. The other trends aren’t really doing it for me…
