Good day to you all, I'm back with another transitional outfit, hurrah!
And it seems at the perfect time as this weekend brought with it the most gorgeous sunshine to kick start September with and then today, it seems autumn is back and it's drizzly af outside... Oh the confusion!
I certainly made the most of this weekend's glorious "Indian summer" vibes with a beautiful wedding on Saturday which was just so lovely. I've not been to many weddings in my time but it certainly seems that, that will be changing very soon. I guess it's just that time in life when friends and family start tying the knot and shit gets oh so very real! It's gorgeous though and I have to say I do love myself a wedding, I'm such an old romantic so ADORE seeing two people in love!
Aside from the wedding we spent the weekend in Yorkshire again hanging with family and sweating in corduroy and denim as the weather completely and utterly snuck up on me and I was not prepared with my sartorial choices.
But alas, here we are with todays look, something I think epitomises transitional dressing.
It involves layers which is always key at this temperamental time of year, a breathable shoe, again always key and incorporates not one but FOUR of AW18's key fashion trends.

I'll start with my friend corduroy, a fabric that plucks at my heart strings, so much so I just cannot stop investing in it!
I'm going a lil but corduroy crazy this season already as theres something oh so nostalgic, so retro, so luxurious and comforting about the textured and rather thick material.
This little blazer I picked up whilst ASOS was offering 20% off everything on site; a piece I had been eyeing up for quite some time so took the discount as a sign to finally add it to my wardrobe. I opted for a size 12 for a slightly more relaxed silhouette and to ensure I could sneak a piece of knitwear underneath it as things begin to cool off.
It's actually quite a thin corduroy piece which is great for all the layering possibilities, this time layered with yet another key trend for winter and one you guys know I am ALL ABOUT... Rainbow print!

Rainbow stripes were seen all over the catwalks this season with the likes of Burberry who incorporated rainbow stripes into their iconic check print whilst also throwing in a plethora of rainbow brights into their chunky knitwear, old school brand heavy sweatshirts, accessories and shoes.
Missoni went big on multicolour's but in a more subdued, desaturated kinda way. With patchwork knit maxi dresses, full length coats, scarves and with details such as rainbow sports tipping to knitwear, this was a really interesting take on my beloved rainbow trend and something a little more wearable for those who can be intimidated by lashings of colour.
Less rainbow per se and more multicoloured, Versace (who is deffo one to watch this season) incorporated those Crayola colours once more with lashings of tartan in red, blue, green and yellow to create a rainbow of their very own. Whilst Tom Ford included rainbow hues in his oh so 80s shell suits and sequinned dresses, perfect for party season!
There's something about rainbow brights that leave me in the best mood, they connote all the happy feels and work to set my day off on the right foot should I choose to adorn my body in my much loved print. There are SO many rainbow items on the market right now, much to my delight, those of which I'll be sharing in my trend update next week so stay tuned.

SUNGLASSES- QUAY, NECKLACE- CELINE, BLAZER- ASOS, TOP- ASOS MENS, JEANS- & OTHER STORIES, SHOES- TOPSHOP, BAG- DIOR VIA VESTIAIRE COLLECTIVE

Next up we have my most favourite bargain in a really long time, the animal print mule!
I snapped these cuties up in the Topshop sale for just £18... How awesome is that!? Animal print is the real trend contender for AW18 as it is quite literally EVERYWHERE on both the high street and the luxury market.
Look to Tom Ford once more for some serious head-to-toe animal print feels, to Ashley Williams for a lesson in layered animal print and Bottega Veneta on how to run wild and rock animal print outerwear.
The beauty of this trend is that it's a trend I reckon we all have in our wardrobes already. Whilst it's always nice to add a touch of newness to our new season wardrobes do take a good hard look at your current set up and rework your animal print pieces in a new way this autumn.

And finally we have the must have accessory of the season and the proudest fashion related purchase I have EVER made... The Dior Saddle Bag.
The recently reissued Dior Saddle Bag is back with a bang with all the coolest of cool babes rocking it on their arm or across their body if you're really championing the "new" way to wear the Saddle bag. I was so freaking excited to hear that this bag was coming back around as it's a bag I've lusted after for as long as I can remember, back in the early noughties when I was about 8 years old.
I sent my Nanna Doris off on her holiday to Turkey with a picture of the pink monogrammed Dior Saddle Bag, do you remember it? Begging her to bring me back a fake of it... Yeah, we've all been there haven't we!?
She came up trumps and that little pink, monogrammed saddle bag with it's rhinestone detailing and pearl centred flowers was my absolute pride and joy.
Fast forward almost 20 years (holy crap) and I managed to treat myself to the real deal, something I know younger Megan would be bursting with happiness about. It's a really amazing feeling to be able to treat yourself to something you've always wanted and even more so when you find a vintage version from the exact year you were lusting after it back then.
I've never bought vintage luxury before but my goodness I am SOLD on it, it's such an incredible feeling to find the piece you've been hunting for after searching high and low for it and I'll be forever thankful to Vestiaire Collective, a luxury rehoming website that I am now suitably obsessed with and that allowed me to get my beloved Saddle bag for less than half price of the new ones... RESULT!
So yes, it's safe to say you will be seeing A LOT more of my beloved vintage Dior Saddle Bag this season, as not only is it the must have bag of the minute, but it's a very special, nostalgic and proud piece that I am LOVING having in my collection.

And so there we have one look featuring four key trends for AW18, a look you can wear right now and adapt with layering as the temperature inevitably drops. Four key trends that I imagine we'll all be investing heavily in this season but will also no doubt already have in our wardrobe which is always a bloody bonus!
I can't tell you how in love I am with my Dior Saddle bag either and hope you're as excited for me as I am (probs not but hey) Is there a piece that you've ALWAYS lusted after? I'd love to hear if you have any stories similar to my Turkey fake saga? Lets chat in the comments and I'll see you on Thursday for another style post.

Absolutely gorgeous look as always, loved the encouragement to try to reware things we already have. Would love to see a post or video all about including old items for new seasons. As always have a great day and thanks for another amazing read.
Ohhh thanks so much Ava!
I am ALWAYS rewearing older items with new pieces, thats what makes someone a stylist I believe 🙂
It’s frustrating as my job is so focused on whats new that it’s only recently occurred to me that I don’t show this side of me. But I am ALWAYS rewearing things, so I’m going to make a conscious effort to share this side more as it’s become apparent that this is something very important to my audience which is so great 🙂
Thanks for the lovely comment babe x
Where is your necklace from lovely? x
It’s by Celine, super hard to get hold of at the minute so unfortunately I can’t link to it, but will do as soon as/if it comes back in stock x
Love the rust jacket.

This year marks the first year I love the animal print trend, I even bought my first leopard print dress. I love those mules and at that price they were a steal!

YES to rewearing old favourites! I‘m always down for that. And I definitely share your love for corduroy this season. Been lusting after a corduroy shuit from
