Happy Thursday folks and oh what a marvellous Thursday it is ey?
I must admit that I wrote this post last week and had it scheduled for Tuesday... But, with some imagery set backs I had to hold back and instead you got a Guide To NYC on Tuesday and I bring to you this outfit post and good old catch up post today instead.
After my first weekend back at home and my first (now two) week getting back into the swing of things work wise I’m feeling real good and very excited for all that is coming up.
I have some seriously exciting things in the works and whilst some have been giving me sleepless nights (I am such a nervous being) I am super buzzing to be able to reveal all to you wonderful bunch and to get set on some of my most favourite projects to date.
This weekend involved a much deserved rest! The New York jet lag and the aforementioned nerve-induced sleepless nights have meant that the last week has been driven by copious amounts of coffee and a variety of eye masks to ensure that I got my overgrown to-do list NAILED! I spent both Saturday and Sunday lay in bed until gone 1030 which was dreamy to say the least, whilst Saturday night was spent in Manchester with a gin & tonic permanently attached to my hand and watching Liam Gallagher absolutely slay it at Old Trafford Cricket Club! I absolutely adore watching him play; as a huge Manchester icon it almost moves me to tears to watch him perform and my goodness is he incredible. It was my fifth time seeing him live, once with Oasis at Heaton Park (oh the memories), once with Beady Eye and the other times solo. He’s just such an utter legend and I completely adore everything about him, especially that potty mouth of his!
So yeah, thats my weekend in a nutshell, how was yours? Beautiful I hope! This week is a busy one with lots of filming and writing and with an exciting trip to London at the end of the week (today), life is looking good and I’m SO thrilled to be extremely busy but feeling on top of everything once again.

But anyway today’s post is all about my love of the seventies. Yep, thats right, again!
I’ve been in love with all things seventies for the past five years solely, but looking back I think it’s always inspired me, just more on a subconscious level.
I remember seeing a moodboard, back when I was working at ASOS a million years ago that was based around the seventies. It included references from the past, street style imagery from fashion week’s of that time and tonnes and tonnes of textures, fabrics and finishes that go in to making said seventies trend. I can still remember the feels it gave me looking at that board, it filled me with SO much inspiration and I just KNEW that that was a trend I was going to stick with for many seasons and years to come.
And boy was I right!

Almost four years later and I’m still loving all things seventies but no more so than when Autumn/Winter comes back around. Whilst I adore summer and all the fun antics and opportunities that it brings with it, I feel my styling takes a bit of a back seat during the warmer months and I kind of struggle to find my groove when there is little to no layering involved.
But, since the weather has turned to an unsightly shade of grey over the past week or so, I feel like I’m back on my A-game and absolutely LOVING styling myself again.
I’ve recently purchased some new seventies inspired items, that you may have seen some of in Sundays New York shopping haul video and I’m just SO into styling them up in different ways to make some really fun, different and unique looks to set myself off into Autumn on the right foot. I’m shooting some of said looks next week and I can’t bloody wait to share all the Autumnal content and styling inspiration with you!
Saying that, I do have a funny feeling that summer isn’t quite over just yet- September is often one of our warmest months here in the UK, I remember it back when I was at school and desperate to go back after 6 long weeks off with a brand new coat. Mum would never let us get a new coat that early on in the year as she knew that we wouldn’t like it when Autumn finally came around in mid-October.
SO, with that I’m not getting too bundled up just yet and am here today with the perfect seventies transitional piece.

SUNGLASSES- c/o CHLOE, JUMPSUIT- c/o SISTER JANE, BOOTS- ZARA (old), BAG- STAUD

Said transitional piece is this jumpsuit by my friends over at Sister Jane, a brand that if you’ve been along for the ride over the past 5 years, you’ll know I am suitably obsessed with and shout about A LOT! They just get that whole sixties-meets-seventies-meets-right-now combination and every single collection they drop I always find myself coveting a piece or two and inevitably adding them to my wardrobe.
This collection is no exception with the jumpsuit being one of my picks; Made from a really lightweight blue chambray with contrast white stitching, flap pockets to the bust, zip fastening down the front and topped off with the most gorgeous jewelled heart belt to tie the whole thing in at the waist. It’s a piece that just epitomises everything I am about and I totally ADORE wearing it!
Styled here with my most girlie and kooky of accessories, the Zara lip boots of last season, my velvet Staud handbag, again from last season, what a great purchase that was; And a newbie for summer with these epic and totally retro octagonal sunglasses by Chloe. This is a really great way to rock the jumpsuit for smarter occasions whether thats a business meeting, drinks with the girls or for a fun date night look with your lurrrrrve. However, throw a T-shirt underneath or perhaps a high necked knit when it gets a lil cooler, a pair of fun trainers or a lower pair of heeled boots and it’s perfect for day-wear too.
I did plan to wear this for the daytime whilst in New York but honestly it was WAY TOO DAMN HOT over there so for now you’ll have to wait and use your imagination until I bring this baby back out again, sorry about that guys but I promise you it won’t be long!

But anyway, me and the seventies are here to stay. It’s a love affair like no other, a trend I can always rely on to make me feel like the best version of myself, to give me confidence like nothing else and that completely and utterly empowers me! Do you have anything that makes you feel that way? Perhaps a trend or a specific item? A colour or a silhouette? I’d LOVE to hear about them!
So thats me done for the day, I hope you enjoyed this post and it’s given you some inspiration for styling your way into Autumn/Winter 2018 and maybe a bit of food for thought about what it is that makes you feel like the best version of you?

Yasss, that sunglasses-wavy hair-boiler suit combo is superb! I adore the 70’s inspired trend and you rock it like no other xx
This outfit is so cute! 🙂
Thanks gorgeous Izzy x
You look AMAZING Megan 🙂 As with anything you wear I fear it may only look this good on YOU <3
The trick to summer "styling" is cotton, loose fitting and/or skimpy clothing – I know living in Tauranga, New Zealand. Anything in a polyester turns to a sweat rag and if your clothes are clingey you'll be cringey.
NO WAY! You’d totally rock this piece for sure! It’s a really flattering little baby!
YES cotton is certainly the way to do summer, although I’m not quite there with it just yet haha! x
Love the sunnies! And that little embelished heart detail on the belt. So cute!

So adorable right! x
Totally obsessed with this outfit Megan! I find some seventies pieces quite hard to style sometimes but you always rock them so effortlessly! I‘m inspired by all fashion eras but my fave is probably the 90s era cause i just feel most myself in spaghetti strap tops and slip dresses!
Ohhh thanks lovely lady! I guess the silhouettes are pretty intense and exaggerated, it’s all about working with what makes you feel good. Ahhh yes, I’ve never really been into the 90’s that much but recently I’m being sucked into it! SO many great 90’s pieces are cropping up for the season ahead so I am TOTALLY on board! xo
ADORE this jumpsuit! What an amazing piece! Plus, I’m sooo happy to hear that you’re sticking with your 70s vibe. You suit it incredibly, you BABE xxx
Ohhhh youuuu! Thanks darling girl xo
