Well would you look at me looking all fancy ey? It's not often that I share fancy shmancy looks such as this but every now and then it's nice to inject a little bit of occassionwear into this casj gals wardrobe and in-turn her blog too.
So hello, hi there, how are ya? I hope you've all had a gorgeous sun filled week, I have to say I'm feeling rather good at the minute after having almost a full month at home to finally get on top of everything. As always thanks so much for your comments and emails, it means a lot to hear from you, to pick me up when I need it and to give me a much needed reality check, you guys honestly rock.
So with a slightly perkier and much more organised Megan than before, today I bring to you the perfect summer occasion dress, 'cause we all know how down right stressful it is to find the perfect dress for summer nuptials such as weddings, the races, baby showers, christenings, prom, the list is endless!
I shared a post not so long ago about how I feel we should all throw shade to the occasion-wear dress and rock a suit instead, and whilst I am still completely partial to that idea, sometimes (and quite honestly only sometimes) does a dress come into my life that completely knocks me for six and demands me to eat my words.
Well, you guessed it, this little spotty number did just that, lets dissect...

So, first up and possibly one of the most important and attractive factors about this dress is the sheer affordability of it. Coming in at just £30.00 it's an absolute steal, especially when it comes down to occasion wear which can often be some of the most expensive outfits a girl can by. And, if you're anything like me, you'll wear the dress once and then bring it back out a summer or two later for yet another outing, this time styled a little differently, so spending an absolute fortune on a fancy dress that I will inevitably forget about after one wear is just not something I'm prepared to do, so £30 is just dandy for me.
The second MAJOR bonus point for this little baby is the fact it's a jersey sun dress. It's lightweight and perfect for this warmer weather, so once you've dolled it up to the nines for your summer do, you can bring it out for something a little less plush. Perhaps throw on a pair of white trainers such as the Nike Blazer Lo's or Veja plimsoles for example, just something super white and super simple to ensure that all eyes are on the dress!

Perk number 3 and admittedly a little less of "I MUST BUY THIS DRESS NOW!" feature is the fact it features the must have print of the season, polka dot.
Granted a little large so perhaps in fact a spot rather than a dot, but regardless it's ticking all those SS18 trend boxes thats certainly for sure.
I really love the fact that these spots/dots are in fact contrast spot's with the mix of powder pink and french navy, an absolutely stunning colour combination, one that I just know would suit a whole host of complexions.

And finally, ladies and gentlemen this dress is quite frankly the most flattering dress I have EVER graced my body with.
I've been a little naughty when it comes to going to the gym lately, just another part of my life that I loved and that has fallen by the wayside, excellent!
But yes, my fitness routine is rather non existent right now and has been for the past month or so (FFS!) and with that I'm not feeling quite as confident in my own skin. However, when I slipped into this figure flattering baby with it's little bandeau neckline and tie front, I have to say that I liked what looked back at me in the mirror.
It skims your hips and bum, nipping in at the waist and skirting out around your calves to make the most beautiful of flattering silhouettes. The strapless top allows the sexiest part of a woman's body, (in my opinion) your décolletage to be shown off in a really demure and sophisticated way. I just find the whole shape of this dress to be incredibly flattering and whilst the tie bust may not be suitable for everyone, I'd highly suggest trying a few of these slinkier shapes of dresses out, I have a feeling you may be pleasantly surprised as I was.

When it comes to accessorising, my priority is ALWAYS comfort, nowadays anyway.
There's nothing worse than being totally uncomfortable in a pair of sky high sandals or developing a gorgeous pair of oh so painful blisters from pointed stilettos; So for that I am excited to introduce you to this little pair of angels by Reserved.
You've probably seen them over on my YouTube channel and my Instagram already, but thats purely because I simply cannot get enough of them and how damn comfortable they are
They're buttery soft with a solid cylindrical heel which allows for the dreamiest and comfiest of walks ever! They wrap up the leg to give a really elegant touch to the look which allows the round toe to be dressed up a notch. I would honestly recommend trying these babies to see if they work with you summer wedding/event/party outfit as I can assure you you'll be able to last all day and then some in them.
I then threw in some white with my trusty and old faithful Saint Laurent sunglasses and an all new Topshop beaded bag which my mamma hilariously thought was bubble wrap... But seriously I get it!
The white accessories works to add another touch of quirkiness to this look, something I'm always rather fond of and plus, going for white means you can restyle the accessories with countless other looks to ensure cost per wear is kept to a minimum.

And so there is an all round faaaaabulous dress for your occasion dressing needs. It's affordable, flattering, it's versatile, comfortable, on trend, sophisticated yet totally kooky with the contrast coloured spots, personally I think it's a no brainer and I hope you do too.
Have a fabulous rest of the week and a beautiful weekend!
