Hello hi how are you?
I hope you’re all doing so super well. That’s me just back from an utterly incredible 5 days in San Francisco!
I honestly cannot tell you just how truly wonderful that city is, but I promise I will, very soon with one almighty guide to everything we did, saw and ate in San Fran.
However, until then I thought I’d get this post up pretty sharpish, a detailed look into everything I wore whilst in San Fran, a city break outfit diary if you will, or perhaps even a homage to my Reebok trainers cause honestly those babies need some shouting about! They were honestly life savers for this trip in which we walked around 19,000 steps a day, yeah really! I’m writing this on the 11 hour plane journey home and I think both my knees and my poor feet have just about had enough!
But anyway now for the outfits!
So many of you have been asking about various different pieces that make up different looks so I thought this round up post could be pretty useful to direct y’all too if you’re feeling a wee bit spendy!?
But, I have to say that I packed terribly for this trip. I packed quickly, in a rush and in a bit of a mood as two orders that I’d made for this trip had failed to turn up, so it really was a scramble the night before to muster up some outfits to take with me.
And to be honest, I needn’t have bothered ‘cause the shopping in San Fran really is second to none. Both Amy and myself went absolutely wild when it came to shopping, see everything I picked up in my latest YouTube video by the way, so a lot of these items are new and bought in the US, however I will try to link as much as possible for you and any alternatives I may find.

Aside from a fabulous pair of shoes that you’ll see more of within this post, this little jumpsuit is certainly my favourite purchase of the entire trip! It just feels oh so totally me, the perfect piece for every day wear but I reckon it could also be dressed up amazingly too, with a few clever styling touches, don’t you think?
I got mine in a size zero, as I did find that reformation come up a little big and zero was the absolute dream fit for me, once I’d adjusted the dungaree style straps for my shortass body that is?
Keeping it simple and rocking those decorator vibes I chose to style with a super soft plain white tee, the best trainers I have ever, ever bought in the form of those Reebok Classics, my leather jacket which I did not need, we were SO lucky with the weather, my fave Prada sunglasses and a super old yet super fabulous Ashish inspired bag by ASOS.

Now we have a little more of that must have oatmeal shade with the outfit that I wore on our first day in San Fran and an outfit that I’ve worn before, yes, Megan Ellaby is an outfit repeater! But I just love it SO freaking much!
The tee is by Bella Freud x Fred Perry and I completely adore the somewhat Dennis The Menace colour-way with the black and red stripes; it brings playful and boyish vibes with it which I really love and I adore how classically Fred Perry it is whilst still screaming Bella Freud, do you know what I mean?
Teaming the T-shirt of my dreams with the jeans of my dreams, the Weekend Voyage jeans in 100% organic cotton and that delicious oatmeal shade. Natural shades such as oatmeal appear to be the new white and I am so excited to have finally found the perfect pair of natural toned jeans. These fit like an absolute glove, as do all Weekday jeans (hear more about them in my high street jeans video here) and add a super cool minimalistic feel to this look.
Accessorising the look with Miu Miu sunglasses and that sequin bag x white trainer combo as before; this is 100% my uniform right about now, my go-to kind of spring look for comfort yet cool vibes, I just can’t help myself.

For an evening on the town, or should I say for pizza and pints, I kept things casual with another pair of stellar jeans, this time the straights by Topshop, a deckchair striped yellow tee by & Other Stories, my beloved leather biker jacket from All Saints and an all new and totally fabulous pair of shoes by Miu Miu. These shoes are quite honestly perfect for all your occasion dressing needs this summer and beyond, whilst being the perfect pair of heels to rock with jeans for a real chic smart/casual ensemble, I am so thrilled with what a grade A purchase they truly were.

SUNGLASSES- SAINT LAURENT, JACKET- TOPSHOP (old similar here), DRESS- URBAN OUTFITTERS, SLIDERS- RAG & BONE c/o NET-A-PORTER, BAG- GUCCI c/o NET-A-PORTER
Another purchase I made whilst shopping in Donwtown San Fran was this gorgeous, figure hugging white denim dress from Urban Outfitters. It was love as soon as I saw it and I am SO tempted to go and pick up the blue denim version too, it is such a great piece for summer, a real staple for me I can already tell. Styling it simply with a colour clash of accessories, my favourite and oh so comfortable Rag & Bone slides and my green Gucci Soho Disco Bag, which is still a firm fave in my handbag collection I must say!
The dress features really elongating buttons down the front of the dress along with line work which works to shape and flatter your figure beautifully, drawing the eye down the body and working to elongate, something I am ALL ABOUT.
I felt a million dollars and have already lined it up for an upcoming birthday party later this month!

Next up is the polka dot wrap dress that you lot went wild for over on Instagram, a dress I picked up in Brandy Melville in downtown San Fran, my first time in a Brandy Melville store but certainly not my last, I absolutely bloody loved it! I picked up a few things, the first and possibly my favourite being this polka dot wrap dress. Unfortunately and typically this piece isn’t available online just yet (damn it!) however, I have linked the other prints and colour-ways below just in case one of those tickles your pickle.
It’s lightweight, flattering and super easy to style whether you go for trainers like me, ankle boots or dress it up to the nines with a pair of platform heels, it’s a fabulously versatile piece.
It was 28 degrees Celsius on this day and this dress came in SO super handy, I was beyond thrilled that I’d picked it up the day before!

SUNGLASSES- MANGO, TEE- BRANDY MELVILLE, JEANS- c/o WEEKDAY, TRAINERS- VANS ( Thrifted, similar here)
Bloody hell, it really does seem that I wore absolutely everything that I picked up whilst in San Fran, but trust me, there are a few items that I am yet to wear, but if you’re keen to have a nosey, check out this video here.
Keeping things casual for a couple of drinks in the Mission District in another Brandy Melville tee, my new Vans, that I bagged for a faaaabulous price of $14 GET IN, Weekday black jeans, Mango statement sunglasses that just so happen to match Mission Vintage shop front beautifully, and this truly gorgeous straw and beaded bag that I found in a thrift shop in Haight Ashbury. I mean, it was $12 can you believe it? And can you believe that it isn’t from Mango or Zara or somewhere of that ilk? I sure as hell cannot and I am sure as hell in love with the wee little bargain!

I finally got around to wearing this little camo number, a piece I selected for our Maldives trip back in March, but granted I found it to be way too thick for the weather out there.
So, I took it with me to San Fran determined to wear it and my goodness I am a little bit into it to say the least! It is such a fun, statement and unusual piece that I’m already itching to style it up again. It’s a vintage reclaimed piece by Milk It by the way and I finally settled on styling it with those Weekday jeans and Vans, allowing it to do all the talking, the way a piece like that should!

TSHIRT- BRANDY MELVILLE, SHORTS- TOPSHOP, SUNGLASSES- DKNY, BELT- URBAN OUTFITTERS, TRAINERS- VANS
Another little Brandy Melville purchase is this bad ass motor car crop top with long sleeves. Made from thee softest cotton on the planet it is such a dream to wear and hangs off the body beautifully.
With a simple vintage blue car motif to the breast and a more elaborate “vintage poster” design to the back, it’s such a fun and cool piece to add to my wardrobe. I adore T-shirts right now so this will be getting a lot of air time I am sure.
Paired with a little Topshop newbie with these long line white denim shorts that I am totally obsessed with!
I’ve been on the hunt for something like these for ages so was buzzing when I saw them crop up on good old Topshop.com last month. Go for your usual size with these I would say, unless you’re blessed in the bum region, I am unfortunately not blessed in that region and still found that wedgies occurred rather frequently…
But alas wedgies aside I loved the tomboy feel to this look, I think maybe one of my absolute faves! Styled with my DKNY sunnies which you have seen here and here before and my thriftiest purchase of the trip with these awesome slip on Vans.
I was on the hunt for the checkered slip ons but couldn’t find my size in any stores, but fate would have it that Buffalo vintage in Haight Ashbury would lead me to a sassy little chevron print version instead, a little different and therefore a little more me don’t you think? I am obsessed!!!!

And finally the last look of the trip was a throw on fluke of an outfit as I was royally hungover and in need of clothing that felt like pyjamas!
I’d thrown in these polka dot jersey flares from Daisy Street to travel home in and decided they were just the ticket for my hungover get up. Throw in a new band tee, this unreal colourful Pink Floyd number in a really gorgeous faded lavender shade, I picked it up in the most awesome band tee shop on the planet ever! But more of that in the guide hey?
Those Reeboks proving they were worth every single penny and finishing off yet another look along with the Chloe Faye and huge Gucci Sunglasses to add a little bit of glam to my rather rock & roll yet totally hungover get up.
And so there we have it, a look into my San Francisco holiday wardrobe, I bloody loved writing this post and it’s taken at least two hours out of the 11 hour flight so that’s something hey?!
I enjoyed experimenting with photography again on this trip, on challenging myself to learn more about the camera I worked so hard to purchase so I really hope you like these snaps and of course the outfits too,
Let me know which is your fave of the looks and please do let me know whether you like this kind of round up post or prefer single looks or guide and outfits combined in one post.
And with that, thanks so much for reading and I shall see you in the comments honeys

I hope you enjoyed San Francisco. You certainly looked great. I want to get a pair of wide leg white and black jeans. Have plenty of regular denim but need a pair in white and one in black. I visited SF for a weekend right before I moved back to NY from Seattle. It is a wonderful city.

I’ve never commented on your blog before but this post is probably my favourite of yours ever so I had to! Each and every one of these shots is gorgeous and has given me so much inspiration for summer dressing. I can’t believe how perfect those vans are – I would love to see you do some videos to do with thrifting/charity shop/vintage shopping as I find it super hard to have the patience to look for things and don’t know what I’m doing! It’d be a really nice addition to your new re-styling unworn clothes series on youtube. 🙂 xx
Oh Sarah HIIIII! Thanks so much for taking the time out to comment, really really means a lot!
