I’m back, finally with an outfit post hurrah!
It feels like it’s been an absolute age since I last got down to the nitty gritty of styling, shooting and chatting about one singular outfit, and let me tell you I have missed it!
Life has gotten a little bit chaotic to say the least recently and whilst it’s been absolutely flipping incredible, what with travelling to San Francisco and Cinque Terre in North West Italy, more on both of those places very soon, and with working behind the scenes on two very exciting secret projects, again more on those should they ever come to fruition. But alas, I’m knackered, absolutely bloody shattered, both physically and mentally drained and as I write this, on a Friday afternoon on the train to an exciting meeting (about said secret project) I am very much looking forward to some time away from everything as I head on a family and friends filled weekend, no doubt with much food and much, much fizz.
But as I say all of this, I have really missed doing what I do best and that is styling and chatting about fashion. I’ve missed my day-to-day routine of conjuring up an outfit or an idea for a post or video and getting down to shooting and talking about it. I really do like routine it would appear and it feels good to be getting back in the swing of things and getting my upload schedule across all my platforms back on track once more.
So anyhoo, now thats all out of the way, lets get chatting about todays outfit shall we?
A look I am actually going to wear this weekend for a very special party with the family; A look that on first glance, couldn’t be further from what I normally like to wear, but a look that once I’d put it altogether, made me feel pretty fabulous indeed.

These simple silhouette dresses are all over the place right now whether it’s the high street, the luxury market or over on Instagram, nineties style slip dresses are here in a big way!
And whilst I LOVE how they look on other people, there’s something about the column shape and the longer length that leaves me feeling a little out of sorts and not really myself. For the most part, I’m more of a mini dress kinda gal, being 5ft4 and all, however, it’s always nice to push yourself out of your comfort zone from time to time and thats what I did with this very dress.

Despite the straight up and down, nineties style cami dress being a thing, I thought I would take elements of that look and make it my own by throwing in a more flattering shape. This beautiful, form fitting dress by Warehouse was just the ticket to find that happy medium, whilst also throwing in some retro vibes to boot. It nips in at the waist and makes my waist look a hell of a lot dinkier than it actually is, I mean honestly when I looked at these photos for the first time I couldn’t believe that, that was me. It’s genuinely the most flattering little baby in the world.
The thicker straps are also adding to the flattering silhouette, particularly with the almost sweetheart neckline with bow-tie detailing, adding a little lift to my usually non-existent bust.
And even the length of the dress I can get on board with; The empire line meets A-line silhouette is super flattering when teamed with such a form fitting waist area and therefore the midi length didn’t drown me like all those before it.
It’s a really unlikely style favourite right now and I’m truly excited to wear it again on Sunday, perhaps this time with a wedge lace up espadrille to dress it up a little bit and of course sans denim jacket.
And there we have another reason for truly loving this dress; it is so easily styled up or down, for day or for night with just a few key pieces.

SUNGLASSES- c/o LAZY OAF, DRESS- c/o WAREHOUSE*, SANDALS- c/o LULU GUINNESS, BAG- ZARA, JACKET- TOPSHOP*

Here I’m wearing it with my trusty Topshop denim jacket in a deep indigo shade and white contrast stitching which naturally compliments the navy and white polka dot print of the dress. Throw in some cat eye sunglasses, from Lazy Oaf, to really amp up those somewhat 50s Hollywood Glamour vibes and keep it sunny daytime appropriate with a striped sandal by Lulu Guinness, I mean, c’mon, can this look get any damn cuter?

A really gorgeous, classic and comfortable look- yes both the dress AND the Lulu Guinness sandals are tres comfortable indeed! The perfect dress for all your summer needs, whether that be shopping around town, a picnic with pals or something a wee bit fancier such as a summer wedding, this dress has got you covered.

Oh my goodness, I adore these shots! Plus, I think I need this dress in my life aha xxx
Thanks darling girl, I really love these shots too. Shooting in China Town is always fun, so much colour!
OMG yes you’d look killer in this dress! xo
In love with the dress! I have startes leaning towards more midi-length dresses, but whenever I try them on I feel like I look stumpy. Which is weird, given that I am 177cm tall!
