What an utterly fabulous weekend I’ve had! The first bank holiday that’s actually felt like a bank holiday in SO many years, do you know what I mean? I’m going to get so very British on you now but my goodness how incredible was the weather!?!?
It was honestly like nothing else I’ve ever seen here in the UK, especially in May – it felt absolutely bloody tropical and we most definitely made the most of it!
We headed to Helmsley in North Yorkshire to visit George’s family on Saturday which just so happened to be the Tour De Yorkshire too. It was such an awesome thing to experience, (cider in hand ofc) hundreds of bicycles whizzing past all at once was really rather surreal to say the least and it was so great to see an entire county coming together to show their support in the sun.
Sunday brought with it a garden party on my side of the Pennines for my uncles birthday and then Monday was a Bank Holiday Monday well spent as George and I were in the garden centre by 930am stocking up on plants and outdoor decor to transform our little yarden (yard meets garden, you know?!) finishing the long weekend with a bbq with our closest friends and my family, such bloody fun!
Normally I spend bank holidays hungover or feeling duped as I’ve either spent it working or fuming that the weather is so bad, so I have to say it felt bloody damn good to have some fun in the sun for THEEE WHOLE DAYS!
So much so, I’m actually writing this post on the day of publishing, something I very rarely/never do.
It’s 6am currently so picture me, still in pyjamas with bed hair, two puppies on my lap, Good Morning Britain on the television and a big ole cup of coffee by my side as I try and muster something of a blog post together for you all as I really do hate missing an upload day!

So anyway, how was your weekend? Whether you’re in the UK or not do let me know what you got up to this weekend in the comments below, I’d love to hear!
I think I’m going to keep this pretty short and sweet today as I’m heading to London later on in order to catch a flight to Cannes tomorrow,
Ooo la laaaaa! I’ve never been to Cannes before and I seem to believe that we do have a little bit of spare time so please let me know if you have any recommendations at all. I’m still yet to pack for the trip so I really ought to get a bloody move on!

Anyhooo today’s look is one I’ve really loved wearing lately, constructed of some of the newest things from my wardrobe all of which are PERFECT for spring, especially when teamed together.
First up we have the Sister Jane jacket of dreams! It’s the must have spring cover up, something that can be layered up and layered down and that is just down right fun to wear.
The rose satin is such a gorgeous colour to wear this spring, particularly with the delicious sheen to the material, but what I really adore about the piece is the juxtapositioning of “themes” with the western style piping and swallow embroidery combined with the Harrington silhouette and sportier additions such as the contrast yellow cuffs.
It’s a piece that lends itself perfectly to the dark wash denim and looser fitting jeans by Me & Em; a pair of jeans that are unlike any other jeans in my collection and a pair of jeans that are SO flipping comfortable I’m finding myself reaching for them daily!
The cropped, frayed hemline is also the perfect length for teaming with my trusty Supergas, a pair of trainers I cannot get enough of right now, as you’ll know if you’ve read this post here or seen my latest fashion favourites video.
Throw in some coordinating socks and of course yet another colour with the Ray Ban round metals and Cafune mini bag and it’s the perfect mix of seventies x sporty and the perfect everyday spring look, now the weather is cooling back off again anyway (WHY!??)

SUNGLASSES- RAYBAN c/o SUNGLASSES SHOP, JACKET- c/o SISTER JANE, TEE- COS, JEANS- c/o ME & EM, BAG- c/o CAFUNE, SOCKS- TOPSHOP, TRAINERS- c/o SUPERGA

And there we have it, what do you think of this look? I feel like so many of you are going to like this as it’s pretty easy to recreate using pieces we already have in our wardrobes but hey I’d love to hear any thoughts you have on it As always.
Do you prefer my casual styling posts? Or would you like to see some occasion wear thrown into the mix too? Please let me know what you’re itching for style wise, or perhaps even beauty/interiors/advice-wise too.
I better get planning as things are about to get busy around here and I’m not sure I can hack another 6am writing session!
Anyway, I better go pack! Love ya!
x M

Ahhh absolutely loving this jacket!! My bank holiday was spent at the beach and even though I’m a bit burnt, it was totally worth it!?

Yaaaaasss that outfit is to die for! I HAVE to get these sunglasses now <3 Personally I love your casual styling post because I can use them for daily inspiration and my style is rather casual anyways lol. I think it would be awesome for this time of the year to blog about layering outfits because although the weather has been glorious I feel like it can't really be trusted at the moment haha 😀
Lovely to hear about your great weekend, and I wish you lots of fun and sun in Cannes! (I am aware of the rhyme and I'm sorry but I couldn't help it) 🙂

Aren’t they just! It’s so funny how small details such as that make SUCH a huge difference to a look x
I LOVE your blog posts!!
Where is the best platform to start a blog? I really want to, I just need a push and a bit of confidence in doing so!!
Lucy x
Ohhh Lucy thank you darling! Means the world.
I started with Blogger 5 years ago as it’s super user friendly! I’ve recently (1.5 years ago) switched over to wordpress at it’s a little more sophisticated with more options for designing the perfect blog. But would highly recommend blogger as your first point. Good luck babes you’ll rock it! x
I love how fun this outfit it!
It definitely deserves it’s own blog post.
I was wondering if you follow any ‘fashion rules’. Obviously you have a unique style but do you even consider Coco Channel’s ‘always take something off” or the rules of thirds?
Thanks,
Amy x

Ahhh thanks Amy, really glad you like it!
I don’t follow style rules at all, I just simply go for what I like and what I feel amazing in! I don’t really believe in rules when it comes to style x
A big YES from me for the Supergas (and Bill Withers!). I’ve had my flatform leather babies for about a year now but seeing yours makes me think I’m in need of another pair! I absolutely love your more casual stylings, as a university student myself, and am definitely looking forward to some more posts like this for inspiration.
