First up today I must apologise for missing a blogpost last week!
It quite honestly breaks my heart when I can’t stick to my usual posting schedule, but unfortunately things have gotten a little busy around here lately which meant I simply had no time to put fingers to keyboard and get something out to you!
I’m so sorry about that but I promise I’m going to do everything I can to continue with my usual posting days from here on out, despite how busy I currently am. Perhaps this organised gal just needs to get a little more organised, or at least schedule a couple of days at my desk... Ohhhh how nice that would be nice!
But alas I’m not complaining, life is very much wonderful right now. I have some super exciting projects in the works and I’ve just got back from Cannes, in fact I must be honest, I’m actually writing this on the plane home after three days in the South of France.
I was there with Magnum, yup everyone’s favourite ice cream (pinch me) for their awesome collaboration with Alexander Wang! I was representing the UK and it was honestly such a huge honour! I even got to step outside of my comfort zone and interview Alexander Wang himself! Having never interviewed anyone before I really was thrown in at the deep end but I truly and utterly LOVED IT! I had the biggest adrenaline rush I’ve had in SO long and it’s now something I’d love to explore further in the near future whether that be for my blog, YouTube channel or perhaps something new entirely? It's so nice to step out of ones comfort zone from time to time as they do say it's good to do one thing that scares you each and every day, and let me tell you... It bloody well scared me! But hey, I did it and was SO super proud of myself, stay tuned for Wednesday's weekly vlog for a snippet of the interview.

It was a whirlwind trip but one I’ll never forget, Cannes is truly beautiful and Cannes film festival absolutely mental!
I’ve created a video sharing everything I wore whilst in Cannes but thought in today’s post I’d share with you how I’ve dressed down the white two piece suit that I wore for a very fancy Magnum x Alexander Wang party last Thursday evening. I honestly felt SO incredible, so powerful, strong yet sexy; a combination I truly adore! You know I am the biggest advocate for a suit so I won’t bore you with other connotations that come with a two piece suit, but my goodness did I feel good, head to this Instagram post if you’re unsure what I’m talking about and to see this suit all dolled up.

So anyway onto the styling of this look, here I am wearing the same suit in a much more day appropriate fashion, see(!), I told you a suit was powerful.
Powerful, sexy, empowering but utterly versatile in every way.
First up you have two pieces that can be worn completely separately for a start; simply team the blazer with a boyfriend fit tee and straight leg jean combination for a dressed down and casual vibe or rock the trousers alone with a thin knit and trainers for the ultimate minimalistic yet totally cool ensemble.
Secondly the suit can be totally transformed whether you're opting to wear it for an evening as I did in Cannes or for a more day-time appropriate look such as this with just a few tweaks in styling.
See here for example, I’ve teamed the oh-so long and extremely wide legged trousers with flats and a simple striped tshirt for the perfect casual get up this spring. I'd TOTALLY rock this for a day shopping with the girls, a date night with George or for a summer party with the fam, it's the perfect mix!

If there is one thing I’d urge you all to consider exploring or investing in this spring it would be a suit (or two), with wedding season, prom, graduation and the races all providing the perfect occasions for rocking it all fancy it's the perfect time to take the leap. But remember, cost-per-wear can be virtually nada if you utilise it and work it with your favourite basics to create something new and casual entirely, in my mind it’s a no brainier and I promise you’ll fall in love!
Are you sold yet?

Love this! I am definitely a fan of suits but I am still on the hunt for one that flatters my figure! I love your tips on putting cool outfits together.. as I certainly am not cool myself haha x
Thanks gorgeous girl!
You’re the coolest silly! THE ABSOLUTE COOLEST! xo
Ok, I’ve got to admit that I’m not a fan of this look, but I really wanted to be! I think since you have such a petite frame, a well-tailored suit would be more… suitable (pun kinda intended). This looks like it’s just hanging off you, and all I can think about the pants is how dirty they’d be at the end of any given day from constantly dragging along the floor. I do love the stripes, and the bold/subtle contrast with the lines/color – red always looks really great on you.
I dunno, in this case it feels more like a power suit because it’s “overpowering” your frame, but I do understand that fashion and style are subjectively unique to the individual wearing the clothes, so if you love it, that’s really all that matters. (I’d still love to see you style a more tailored piece.)
Also, no need to apologize for not posting. Life gets busy, we get it! Glad you’re back.
Fair do’s Jane, it’s all good to not be a fan, and as you said it’s all about what makes “you” feel good, and I feel great in it 🙂
x
Always so beautiful and classy Megan! I love the white suit on you ! Quick question, I’m having a solo photography show in June and have no idea what to wear. I’m not a big dress person but want to look edgy and put together -any advice ? I live in Austin, Texas so it’s sure to be warm and humid (!!) live your blog, YouTube etc… keep up the authentic content-it sets you apart!! Xxx p.s if you are EVER in Austin I would LOVE to photograph you!
Ohhh Lizzy thanks so much darling, means a lot!
Why not go for a suit? It’s a fun way to dress up and you can really make it your own, maybe even wear with trainers or flats for a more relaxed look? x
Stripes on stripes…the elegance
