Good day to you all, I hope you all had a bloody delicious weekend, delicious being my new favourite descriptive word and all... Weird.
I thought today, after quite a heavy start to 2018, blogpost wise anyhoo, that I'd strip things back, that we'd have a little chat and keep things ever so light hearted. Theres an awful lot of newbie readers around here, which I'm SO thrilled about (Hi!) so I thought today I'd disclose a little more about myself, the things that even the OG readers may not know about me, 'cause I'm all about that oversharing life!
I've spilled my guts online for the past 5 years (Happy 5th Birthday Blog!) and whilst you may know an awful lot about me and my life, there are of course some things you are yet to learn, some things I keep completely private and some things even the biggest over sharer would never share. So with that we have some complete and utter menial facts about me, the weird, the wonderful and the down right impressive (I'm looking at you point 12) so I really hope you enjoy getting to know me a little better and that we can be mates for another 5 years, yeah!?
*edit*
It's SO funny that despite writing this last Friday, the Five Facts About Me Tag on Instagram happened on Sunday evening, timings ey!? So I guess this is my addition to that tag, just with a hell of a lot more facts to share.

1 .I LOVE A COWBELL
Let's kick things off with something a little odd, I am a sucker for a cowbell. If a song features a cow bell then you can bet your bottom dollar that I love it! Key songs featuring a cow bell that I love include Royal Blood- I Only Lie When I Love You, Rolling Stones- Honky Tonk Woman and The Beatles- Drive My Car
Please feel free to feed this obsession and send over any key cow bell tracks... Thanks in advance
2. I'M OBSESSED WITH TIME HOP
Like REALLY obsessed. I love it. An app that throws up photographs, tweets, musings and videos from the same day 1-7 years ago (and beyond) depending on when you started sharing online/ taking photographs on your phone. It's one of the first things I do each and every morning as a somewhat morning ritual and it fills my little heart with such joy. If you haven't succumbed to the power of Time Hop I would highly suggest downloading it for the ultimate throwbacks each and every day.
3. I TALK TO MYSELF A LOT
Like, an awful lot. I spend a lot my time by myself, working from home so I've got to talk to someone right!? I'll mutter under my breath and plan ideas out-loud. It might seem weird but it gets me through my loneliest of days... Until George comes home of course.

4. MY FAMILY IS HUGE
My dad is one of 9 children, there are 7 boys and 2 girls aka A LOT of Ellaby's! My mum is one of 5 children so it's safe to say I'm from quite a hefty family indeed and I absolutely LOVE it! Family means more to me than anything else in the world and I feel so #blessed (LOL) to have come from such a huge family. I have TONNES of cousins too who are some of my best friends in the world!
5. I LOVE ANCHOVIES
If there is an option to add anchovies then I will ALWAYS add anchovies... To EVERYTHING!
6. I HATE SHOPPING
Yeah, I know, a fashion blogger who hates shopping, well, tis true. I adore clothes but the thought of actually going shopping isn't something I get off on. In fact I have to actually build myself up to hit the shops IRL. I find the whole shopping in store prospect a little overwhelming and not at all enjoyable, unless I know exactly what it is I am looking for and I can nip in and out within an hour or two. Give me online shopping any day of the week.
7. BILLY BLANKET
Billy Blanket is my baby blanket, a blanket I loved and carried with me almost everywhere until 2016. It was a literal safety blanket for me, a little piece of home whenever I was away from home, travelling with work or on holiday. It was a sure-fired way to calm me when I was stressed and to comfort me when I was sad. I loved that little blanket.
That was until George left my suitcase on a train one time and my darling Billy blanket was inside it... RIP Billy Blanket, you are missed every single day.

SUNGLASSES- c/o DKNY, JACKET- TOPSHOP, JUMPER- H&M (IN STORE, SIMILAR HERE), SKIRT- TOPSHOP, BOOTS- SAINT LAURENT, BAG- c/o MARC JACOBS

8. I AM A PROFESSIONAL AIR DRUMMER
Well not really, but I freaking love a good air drum from time to time. While most people will rock an air guitar when there fave song comes on the radio, I can't help but drum along. And whilst I never quite get it right (thanks George for always pointing that out) it doesn't deter me and my love for a good air drum.
9. I GOT LOST IN A WELL KNOWN SPORTS SHOP
As we've all done at one point in our life, as a child I wandered off from my family in a popular sports shop. Frantic, my parents searched the store for me and when my dad found me I was embarrassingly (and at the age of around 4-6) kissing a calendar of Michael Owen... Yeah really HA! I was holding a calendar and going IN on smooching the nineties football star, a man I never even really fancied, just fancied giving him a big ole smacker that day, go figure.
10. I PLAYED HOCKEY FOR THE NORTH-WEST OF ENGLAND
Whilst at school I was BIG on playing hockey. The captain for my school team and a member of my local town's team too. My weekend's were spent competing against other towns in my area and I absolutely LOVED it!
When trials for the regional team came by I was selected and represented the North West of England in several nationwide tournaments, quite a highlight of my life tbh and not something I ever really talk about, until now.

11. GROWING UP MY DREAM WAS TO LIVE IN NYC
And whilst, if I got the opportunity to do so now, I'd be extremely tempted to up sticks and head to the Big Apple, I'm not sure it's a dream anymore. I was infatuated with the place throughout my teenage years and it is still one of my favourite cities in all the world. However, nowhere will ever come close to my beloved Manchester and I reckon I'll be here for the rest of my life.
12. I KNOW EVERY LINE OF MATILDA
It's my favourite film, and I pride myself on the fact that I can recite it. I guess I'd say that was my party trick. My sister likes to quiz me on Matilda trivia and I'm proud to say I out do myself every single time.
13. I WON THE CUTEST BABY AWARD IN MANCHESTER BACK IN 1993
What can I say, I was cute.
14. I CAN PICK OUT A HARMONY IN ANY SONG
Sometimes badly but often pretty damn well, or so I am told.
15. I'M A CANCERIAN
Through and through in fact. To be honest, I should be the poster girl for the star sign. Each and every aspect of what it supposedly means to be a Cancerian I possess, whether it's being extremely maternal, extremely sensitive to the point of being touchy, loyal, moody, loving and creative, I tick every damn box.

So there we go, 15 absolutely pointless facts about me, you can sleep better tonight now you know ey?
I hope you enjoyed this fun post and you managed to learn a little more about me, despite them being totally menial. Let me know one pointless fact about you (the weirder the better) I just LOVE getting to know you and chatting in the comments!
x M

Omg I am actually heartbroken for you about Billy blanket!!! I had a blanket (didn’t have a name, I missed a trick there) and one day it just vanished! I used to take it with me on holidays. V emosh indeed
It’s just the worst isn’t it! RIP Billy 🙁 and Libby’s blanket 🙁 x
Oh Megan, you’re insanely beautiful – inside and out! All these facts made you even more adorable to me. And I feel so sorry for you about Billy Blanket, too! How do you actually cope with situations like that, meaning when a material thing you really loved disappears or gets broken or anything like that? I myself can hardly get over such incidents so I’m very curious about your point of view indeed. Take care, my dear! xx
Ohhh Claudia wow thank you!
It honestly breaks my heart every time I think about it so tbh, I try not to think about it too much. It’s so rubbish when I’m feeling down and I can’t reach for what I know will bring me up and level me out again 🙁 Sucks! Thanks lovely lady, your comments always mean the world x
Hands up fellow Cancerian gal xoxo
Woooohoooo! x
I got the cutest baby award too haha! But it most have been in 1995 i think! How funny xx
Frances Kayleigh | Fashion & Lifestyle
HAHA we’re just so cute! X
I still sleep with Blankie the blanket. My Mom cut off a piece when I was little, so I also have a travel sized Blankie. During the day it keeps my boyfriends Teddy bear warm?. Jup, we are weird!?
Ohhhh CUTE! Blankie the Blanket, thats adorable! I wish I still had Billy 🙁 x
Please tell me you’ve seen the Saturday Night Live “cowbell” sketch? If you haven’t, I know you would love it, as it’s about 1970s music and cowbells!!

OMG I HAVEN’T! I must must must watch this at once! Thank you for sharing it eeeee! x
Hehe that’s exactly the first thing that came to mind when I read this, “more cowbell!” I giggle EVERY time I rewatch that clip. X

It’s ok, I talk to myself a lot all of the time. It’s a company thing.

Oh thank gawwwwd! Thanks babe x
Well I’m a professional air keyboard player…. shall we start a band? Maybe George could give us a regular slot at Jimmy’s? ‘Ellaby & Jay’ has a good ring to it don’tcha think?
And YES to anchovies!
Helen xxx
AHHA OH HELL YES! I’m so keen for this! Ellaby & Jay, could it be any more perfect!?x
I talk to myself ALLL the time too! So much in fact that when driving alone, sometimes I talk to myself rather than listen to music! Haha I’m so weird! (The people stopped next to me on the road probably think so too!) ?
Oh thank goodness for that, I’m so glad to hear that somebody else does too haha! Thank you for making me feel less of a weirdo x
Cowbells always remind me of Good Shoes and Larrikin Love back in the (indie disco) days ha xx
YAAAAAS! I bloody loved Good Shoes omg what a band! Takes me straight back to my teenage years! x
I love this post – mainly just because I’m so damn nosy – but also because I love getting to learn more about you! I always adore people’s style, but it’s interesting to get to know them more as a person too!
Plus, I also talk to myself a lot haha… it must be the working at home on your own thing! xxx
Ohh Holly thanks boo!
I deffo think the whole talking to yourself is working alone at home thang for sure, or atleast thats what I’m telling myself ahaha x
Yessss girl – HERE’S TO KNOWING MATILDA OFF BY HEART HAHA! I used to fall asleep to the recording of it and I think it’s bloody imprinted in my brain now haha! Such a lovely idea for a post! x
http://www.stylepetal.co.uk
AHA YAAAAAAAS! I love that you used to fall asleep to it, CUTE! George and I do that now tbh, but it never sends me off as I just lie there relaying the entire script… I have problems ahhaha x
It was so interesting having a read at this, can definitely agree with the whole love for NYC! I still want to spend at least a few months living there but I don’t think I could leave Manchester for good! It’s my 5 year blogger anniversary this year too, 5 years ago 13 year old me was writing posts about GCSE decisions, oh how times change! Love the chatty vibe of this post, one thing I adore about your blog is that you still write content rather than just post pictures. A lot of bloggers nowadays don’t bother with a whole lot of writing but I think it makes it much more personal! Adore your outfit as well!
Lucy Jane | Infinity of Fashion
happy blog birthday my darling! Woooo, we’re such old timers now aren’t we haha!
Oh really? Thats awesome to hear, thank you gorgeous! I literally spend SO much time of the written content that I’m thrilled it doesn’t go unnoticed, thank you x
I’m still sad about your blanket and about the case. ? Random fact about me. I’m really dull but I guess there was that time I was on a Travis track…?
Ohhh Jen thank you, I’m glad you understand, it’s honestly heartbreaking when I think about him being lost forever :'( LOL that I just reffered to a blanket as a “him”…
OMG a Travis track… Tell me more! x
Aaah I love the colours in this oufit, blues and oranges look so good together, and the silhouette of this look is gorgeous too.
I love anchovies too haha (in my area we have this anchovies-based sauce that is dreamy)
A random fact about me is that I know all the songs from Les Miserables by heart ?
Thanks so much Anna, really glad you like the look and thrilled you too love Anchovies, it’s rare to find someone else who loves them as much as me. WOW Les Mis…That is seriously impressive! x
Forever in our hearts Billy Blanket x
I had a teddy owl when I was younger and refused to sleepover anywhere, including my Nana’s, without it to the point where I made my dad drive over three hours to go and get it when I’d left it at home!
HELL YES HE IS! I miss him so much! Teddy the Owl sounds adorable!!!!
And, aren’t dads just the best!!! x
I love a good cowbell myself! Blue oyster cult ? My fact is that I’m absolutely TERRIFIED of slugs!
Like super petrified ???
OMG slugs are the worst!!!!!!
I’m thinking of starting a cow bell club, there seems to be SO many people who love it too, yayy! x
I have my very own Billy Blanket, except he’s in the form of a Lamb and his name is Larry! I have had him since I was a baby and he went to uni with me. Now he has even gone international and lives with me in Budapest! I couldn’t bare to lose him so I’m sorry about Billy :((
A random fact about me is that I cannot sit cross legged! It’s so weird and I used to get told off in school by the teachers when I refused to sit in that position. So insensitive aren’t they?!
X
Ohhh Larry the Lamb sounds too cute!
SO insensitive, bloody teachers ahhaahhaa Thanks for sharing babe x
Love love love this! I got lost in ikea when i was little and they had to shut down the entire store and not let anyone leave until they’d found me. I’d crawled up in one of the beds to have a nap! Also definitely a talk to my selfer and an air drummer!
OMG that is INTENSE but hilarious, SO freaking cute!!!!!
I have just startet reading your blog, and I will definatly keep reading, im hooked! I have been subscribed to your YT channel for long over a year now, and I have to say you have been the biggest inspiration for me when it comes to fashion. In all my teen years i have been inspired by youtubers, but it wasnt until i found your channel that i really felt inspired to dress JUST like i want to. I overdress for school and work compaired to all off the people i surround my self with, but i dont care anymore cause i feel great all day err day !
Thank you for being inspiring, fashionable in the coolest way, and powerful!
Much love from Norway!
Ohh Synne thank you so much, really means soso much that you’ve come over from YouTube to read my blog, thanks so much.
Thanks so much for your gorgeous words, you have no idea how much they mean to me!
xo
I love the ‘5 facts about me’ tag going around Instagram at the moment! It’s so good to learn a little more about people! I too am obsessed with Timehop I love/hate how much it makes me cringe at my 7 years younger self! Plus I’m totally sad and like to make sure I go on it everyday to keep my streak up! Yes to a Cowbell as well, it’s so good when you love a particular instrument, it makes listening to music even better! I’m such a big fan of steel drums, as soon as I hear them in a song I am in HEAVEN! Loved this post and loved getting to know you a little bit more! x
Tash | natashatodd.co.uk
It’s ace isn’t it, so lovely to learn more about our faves! HAHA I’m SO chuffed that I’m not the only obsessive time hop streak gurl around here! It’s SO addictive. We seem to have a lot in common as I too LOVE a good steel drum! xo
Megan, I found your YouTube about a month ago and literally binge watched all of your videos. Your sense of style is SOOO inspiring. While I’m not sure I could rock many of your looks, you fuel my creative juices in SO many areas: fashion, bullet journals, drawings etc! Can’t thank you enough for your constant posts and videos! Always stay true to yourself cause you are simply slayin the game!! ❤️
Also RIP Billy Blanket, I have my own that I called “Blankey” that I’ve had since I was 2. Def can relate to the heartbreak ?

Cowbells are my absolute favourite! So happy to find a fellow cowbell lover ?
HELL YES! We should start a club haha! x
I’m with you on staying in Manchester. I’ve just been away for a year (Australia) and whilst it was good it’s certainly told me that I definitely want to keep Manchester as my home. It is and will always be my my favourite place on the planet (and I’ve been to a good old few places), there’s a magic to Manchester and I think we should be proud to be able to be, so proud, of where we are from ??? x
No way! Thats SO amazing to hear, thrilled you love manchester as much as me! Hell yes, manc’s are the proudest people in the world, it’s amazing! x
Also a tried and true Cancerian. To the point that it’s exhausting! And yes yes yes to the Royal Blood track. One of my favorites at the moment!
