Good day to you all and happy almost the end of the freaking week!
I simply cannot believe that it is the 1st December TOMORROW, like WHAT THE FUDGE!? How on earth is it the final month of the year TOMORROW!? I'm seriously flabbergasted, and also quite thrilled that I was able to use my favourite word in the world, flabbergasted *FINALLY* in a blogpost without sounding remotely OTT...
And with that, and with the success of Sunday's post where I divulged you with some unlikely party-wear pairings, I thought today I'd share some tips to wearing a touch of sparkle this festive season if, like Amy and I you ain't that good when it comes to going "out out!"
Despite being quite the grandma at the ripe old age of 25, I do LOVE wearing sparkles.
Whether that be sequins, metallics, lurex, foil or lashings of glitter, I'm a sucker for anything that shines; And heck, we know that Amy is too if her online persona The Little Magpie is anything to go by...
There's a tonne of pressure on us girls around party season to find that perfect party dress. A dress that says "hey it's party time" without being too short, too booby, too try hard, too this, too that yada yada yada. And whilst I do believe that finding "The One" when it comes to a party dress is a serious fist pump moment for any gal, and once you've found said dress, you'll be together for many party seasons to follow; I truly believe that party dressing doesn't need to be quite so complicated and most definitely not a one size fits all formula.
I truly believe that styling in general is at no time a one size fits all formula and never was that truer than at this time of year.
So without further ado, here is the lazy girls guide (thats not really a guide) to wearing sparkle this season.

Whilst I don't go out on the razz all that much, I feel at this time of year I really get the buzz for putting a little more thought into my party looks. I'm a Christmas fiend and like it or lump it, I am one of those people who gets excited about the festivities to come in September, yeah rly! With that, I like to inject a little touch of sparkle into my looks from around about October time, which I don't think is too early now do you? Please? Anyone!?
There are countless rules and regulations that surrounds party dressing, all of which I don't agree with, forget styling rules!
It's no secret that jeans are my best friend all year round and during party season that is certainly no exception. Jeans are a failsafe and work incredibly well when teamed with a touch of glitz, so don't feel like a cop out if you find yourself reaching for them whilst getting ready with the girls. Hitting the dance floor is all about confidence and if it's jeans that make you feel tip top then darling, you just flipping wear them!
But if you'd like to step a little out of your comfort zone then I've totally got your back as there is sparkly denim by THE.SHED.LOAD this season, some of which I've listed below to show that you can still throw in the shimmer and still be you.

As I've said countless times already throughout this post (sorry) I love a sequin dress or two; however sparkles can come in much more understated ways thanks to the humble accessory, aka a lazy gals bff this party season.
Statement earrings and jewellery are an easy way to add a touch of sparkle to both daytime and evening looks, heck, even the metal-wear on your favourite handbag can class as sparkle if you so wish it too! But my ultimate accessory for adding both the razzle and the dazzle this party season is through footwear.
AND if, like me you're a fan of a statement shoe or two, I mean, how can you not be? Then, my friends you're in luck! Both the high-street and luxury market are filled to the brim with sparkly shoes to satisfy our quest for all that shines this festive month.
I've listed a few of my faves below, of course including the boots I'm rocking here, which just so happen to be my first ever pair of Louboutins... Hold me!

AMY WEARS: & OTHER STORIES BLAZER (SIMILAR), MONKI CROP TOP, URBAN OUTFITTERS JEANS, OLD TOPSHOP SHOES & ASPINAL OF LONDON BAG
I AM WEARING: H&M JACKET, & OTHER STORIES KNIT, LEVIS JEANS, TOPSHOP EARRINGS (INSTORE), CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN BOOTS, & STELLA McCARTNEY BAG

But I must say, this party season, my ultimate piece of sparkle advice would be to invest in some sparkle-ladened tailoring a la Miss Magpie here.
When asked what my go-to piece for party season is, I will ALWAYS shout from the roof tops “TAILORING!”
I’m at my most sexiest and feel my most confident when I’m rocking a two piece suit, a well cut pair of trousers or a curve creating, well-structured blazer. And why wouldn’t we want to feel both sexy AND confident on the dance floor this season?
With that you guessed it, here are my top picks for tailoring that glistens, all of which I may or may not be swiftly adding to my basket as I type, yes I am THAT good at multi-tasking…

So there we have it a little mini guide to wearing sparkles this season if you don’t want to go the whole hog. A guide that pretty much proclaims that there is no guide, you simply do you and sod everyone else, AMIRIGHT!?
Lots of love and have the best December, I’m SO excited for all the sparkle to commence.

OMG I’m not the biggest fan of sequins and sparkles, but those boots are gorgeous **
I’ve found that my perfect party wear is a pale pink slip dress layered with a t-shirt or a polo neck, with tighst and creepers or boots (I don’t like wearing heels that much), casual but still cute and somewhat trendy, but I may look into some tailored pieces, thank you for the suggestion! ^^
Ahhhhh your party-wear look sounds DREAMY af! LOVE IT!!! Let me know if you go for a bit of tailoring, I’d love to hear your thoughts x
