Get The Look

Party season is coming up FAST and I for one am SO FREAKING EXCITED!
I absolutely ADORE getting all dolled up for a night on the tiles with the girls, for a dinner party at home (yes I get dolled up even for that) or a date night with George. It doesn't happen often but when it does, I like to go IN on the sparkle!
It's quite a tricky time of year for girls like us, dontcha think. We're tied between the devil and the deep blue see of wanting to get merry and get in on the sequin action but in a way that still feels understated and a little bit edgier than the norm.
I have SO much party wear inspiration coming up across the next month, so don't worry, I've gotcha back on that one! Do stay tuned over here, YouTube and Instagram as they'll be different thangs cropping up across errrthang.
And with that, I thought I'd kick start the festive goodness with some snaps that I shot with A Magazine last month! I'm SO freaking excited to share them with you!
A magazine is a fashion and lifestyle magazine for Manchester and when they got in touch wanting to interview me for an editorial piece I of course JUMPED at the opportunity, it was a pinch me moment to say the least, click here to have a nosey at the piece.
I had high hopes for the shoot but little did I know just how freaking awesome the looks would be; styled by the amazing Steven Spencer, he really, truly GOT ME! He understood my style and upped the ante a notch or two to create my dream outfit combinations.
With the A Magazine gang and Steven in tow, our fully Northern team was completed by the wonderful Louise McCann who did my hair and make up beautifully and was SO DAMN SWEET; and finally the man behind the lens Karl Collins, who somehow managed to make me look less of a nerd than usual and for that, I salut you Karl!
I thought I'd share these shots with y'all and link to the v swanky pieces from some of our fave luxury brands, whilst also offering some fun alternatives by our high street heroes too, so lets get this show on the road!

Get The Look

The look shown in the first image of this post is a really nostalgic look for me. Firstly it reminds me of something I would have loved to have worn when I was a little girl. The primary colours combined with the pink is a really fun child-like look and I really loved the combination of the two. Secondly and similarly to the first point, it was a look that made me feel like a children's TV presenter; all I was missing was some arts & crafts and an animal sidekick and I was well on my way to a new career in television. This is the kind of combination I'd rock on Christmas day; it's cosy and snug, but with a really fun vibe to it indeed.
The second look that features the most insane bejewelled denim jacket I have EVER laid eyes on was something a little more grownup, but still with fun elements with the embellishment of the Isabel Marant jacket and the foiled brocade of the Dolce & Gabbana dress. It's a look I felt truly at home in and a look I plan to recreate this party season. Unlikely pairings such as this are always a firm favourite for me, mainly as they're a sure fired way to make me feel confident but it's also highly unlikely that somebody else will rock up to the party in the same get-up... WINNING!

Now we're talking the ultimate of print clashes with the two looks above.
The first featuring not one, not two but THREE print clashes!
A look filled with unlikely suspects but a look that works due to the common thread of pink and blue running throughout. The black of the Alice & Olivia bomber jacket allows the look to be toned down a notch or two, but lets face it, this look is bold af and definitely one to make you stand out in a crowd this party season.
The clashing of cat prints in the next look is not something I'd have thought of doing before but something I think works incredibly well. Again an absolute show stopper of a look and one that is perfect to take you from work to play with just a change or footwear and a swipe of lipstick.

Now for a touch of star print, a print you guys now I go completely GAGA for! It's a print I totally adore and I must admit, a print I've invested A LOT in this party season. This is the perfect example of a party look that can be reworn in many different ways. Rocking a two piece in this way allows for maximum styling potential; I can totally imagine rocking the skirt with an oversized knit for a casual day Christmas Shopping and teaming the star print top with figure flattering leather trousers and a statement pair of heels for a night with the girls.
The below look is for you casual babes out there. Those who don't want to go all out on the glitz and glam but still want to nod to the festivities in your own unique way.
Team knit wear with metallic brocade and a fun flat and I betcha all your gal pals will be well jel of how you can dance the night away sans achey feet.

Love all the outfits and I couldn’t agree more with you about the first one, it reminds me of something my mum would have put together for me and I love it. Also love a little bit of star print, I keep seeing it everywhere this season (I think Topshop and Mango are full of them at the moment) and every time it reminds me of your style! That being said, I might invest in it this season as well!
