Hey Hey!
Thanks so much for all the love on my posts recently, it really, truly means the world and is absolutely the driving force behind every post I write, I wish I could kiss each and every one of you that takes the time to comment on the pieces I put together here on my blog, so I guess a big sloppy smacker of a virtual kiss will have to do for now, but honestly, thanks a mill, you're all ace.
So today's post has been a highly requested post for the past few months now, since this little beauty came into my life thanks to the utter babes over at Net-A-Porter, but I truly wanted to have a full, well rounded opinion and therefore review of the oh so beautiful Prada Cahier bag so thought a 3, almost 4 month review would be a good place to start, what do you say?
Here we have a post dedicated to reviewing the Prada Cahier bag, a bag so beautiful it has made grown women cry (seriously)!
Prada is a brand that has ALWAYS sat in the top three ranks of "brands I hope to one day own a slice of" and I'm going to give you a little spoiler... It certainly did not disappoint.
I thought I'd split this post into some pro's, a few con's, the things I carry around in it and finally whether I would recommend it to you lovely bunch, who's with me?

The Pro's
The Prada Cahier is an absolutely beautiful bag, named Cahier, which is french for notebook, and I’m sure you can see why. Shaped like a magical, whimsical notebook it is truly the most beautiful bag I have ever seen. Inspired by the bindings of antique books, the Prada Cahier bag features ornate and oh so intricate antique gold metal wear, you only have to take one glance at the bag to see why the price is so steep.
I feel the antique gold metal wear adds a somewhat timeless element to the bag, particularly as I decided to opt for the hot pink leather, which is less of a timeless shade.
And despite the fact I chose to go for the hot pink shade, it’s working SO well with my wardrobe for both day time looks and evening looks to boot. If you’ve been following along with me for some time now, you’ll know what a huge pro this is for me.
A big question mark always appears above items if I’m unable to take them from day to night. I like to have the option to wear my more luxury items for all occasions so the fact the Prada Cahier works wonders to add something extra to my slogan tee, jeans combination, but also with my fave Rixo night out dress, well that’s just flipping fabulous.
However, if pink isn’t you bag (sorry) then you’ll be pleased to know that this baby comes in a whole host of colours and fabrications, some of which I’ve shared below, HELLO dreamy green velvet!
The Prada Cahier bag is of the highest of quality and the craftsmanship of the bag is second to none, the leather is shaping up beautifully, albeit softening a little, and the bag is holding it’s structured shape perfectly. It’s sturdy, yet elegant and oh so charming on the eye; the bag is divided up into two compartments with a small patch pocket on the inside back panel, which I find extremely handy for putting memory cards, lipsticks and camera batteries… Oh that glam life. I find the accordion structure to the bag to be an awesome design feature as it means everything within the bag is strategically placed and therefore easy to find sans rummaging. Some people may find the strategic packing a bit of an issue, however, for me, it’s a quality I look for in a bag.
The Cahier also features an adjustable strap which, once again, is something I like my bags to feature as it makes for mixing up how I carry it on the daily. Usually I go for the shortest strap length and enjoy wearing the Cahier cross body- but it’s nice to know that if needs be, I can easily make it longer.

The Con's
So now, lets address the elephant in the room and talk about the cost. Now this oh so teeny weeny bag is by no means cheap. It comes in at a whopping £1,950 so is definitely something to save up for and to think long AND oh so hard about. It’s a V small bag, which you can see from these images here, but we all know by now that I’m an absolute sucker for a small bag, so that never really bothers me too much.
A few things to note about the Cahier bag from Italian Fashion House Prada is firstly, it’s a little on the weighty side of things. It’s made from quality leather and the most dreamy of brass metal wear so it really is not surprising. However, it can get a little heavy if the bag is jam packed (it’s small, so it isn’t hard to jam it packed) however, the thick strap ensures that it isn’t overbearing. I also own the Gucci Dionysus bag which, is the heaviest bag in the entire world ever, so this really doesn’t compare with the heavy weights.
So we have the price and the weight of the Prada Cahier bag which let it down slightly and for some the size may well be an issue too. It is a mini bag so if you’re used to carrying everything but the kitchen sink around with you then I’d streer clear of this one. However, I’m a sucker for a mini bag and like to know that I’m only lugging around the essentials, so this bag suits me just fine.

What Fits Inside?
So, as I said the Prada Cahier bag allows you to strategically bring out only the things you truly need with you. It’s a small bag featuring a patch pocket and two compartments of the same size so prepare to play a game of Tetris when you pack your bag on a day/evening.
As I’ve mentioned a few times now, this is how I like to pack my bag, I’ve got no time for rummaging around in a big ole bag and when I do carry a bigger bag with me, there is usually a smaller bag or pouch inside that allows me to find the things I need when I need them, I don’t like to waste time.
So with that, this bag is pretty perfect in the size department, for me.
It fits my Canon G7X Mark II, which is the camera I use pretty much daily, so the fact this mini bag can fit this within it, gets a huge thumbs up from me. It also fit’s my phone, which is the iPhone 7 Plus, another thumbs up. Along with those two essentials, I carry my Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate palette, mainly for the huge mirror that comes with it, my big old stash of keys with the most ridiculously sized fringed keyring (note to self, must change that) a pair of sunglasses in the form of my new loves, the Gucci Fuchsia Glitter shades and my Gucci card holder. As I mentioned previously, the patch pocket also houses various boring items such as my daily lipstick, hair grips and bobbles along with spare camera batteries and SD cards. All the essentials right there in a pretty exceptional beauty of a bag, AMIRITE!?

So there we have it, my review of the oh so beautiful and covetable Prada Cahier bag. It’s an absolutely exquisite bag; one that makes me feel a million dollars and one that receives compliments by the bucket load from every single person it comes into contact with… Can you blame em? It’s a bag I feel I will never, ever tire of, despite the hot pink colour, and even when I’m not quite as young and sassy enough to wear pink (please lord don’t let that happen) I’ll be handing this baby down to my children for them to revel in all it’s beauty.
All in all I would say this bag is a belter of a bag and if you’re into small but functional, beautiful bags that add that missing piece to every single outfit then what the heck are you waiting for, the Prada Cahier bag is for you!

This is my ideal bag! I love the colour! Thank you for being honest and not being like oh wow it’s great because it’s Prada! Some designer bags can be the worst – I say that from other reviews because I can’t afford any designer bags but this gal can dream! X

Glad you enjoyed it babe x
Beautiful review about the Prada Cahier bag. I agree with everything you mentioned here. I bought it in grey and loved it so much that I also ended up by the powder pink too and I am in love with both colors. This bag is definitely one of my favorites for all the reasons you mentioned. Thanks for sharing. Hugs.
This bag is sooo beautiful, love the review sounds like it’s worth the money
Isn’t it juts the prettiest! x
I love the pink! I used to have a hot pink handbag years ago and I adored it. I do like bags to be a bit bigger though, so I an fit everything in. This looks like the perfect size to take out in the evening though x

It really is the perfect evening bag but as I said, I find it so great for carrying just the essentials during the day x
Ah is so pretty, but I could not justify that much cash for such a little bag
