2 DAYS IN POSITANO | HOLIDAY OUTFITS

As soon as George and I arrived in my parents villa, a truly beautiful villa with all the right Italian rustic vibes; set high up in the mountain which meant for the most insane of views from both the villa and the descent down the mountain to the centre of the town.
Once we arrived at the villa, we slipped into something a little more weather appropriate, Positano is around 30 degrees at this time of year, and we headed straight to the walk down into the town. 

For this, I opted for a seriously lightweight playsuit by River Island with the most gorgeous of lemon prints, apt as we were on the Amalfi Coast, the home of the lemon tree. This playsuit was the perfect piece to explore Positano in; it was lightweight and airy, fun and bright with just the right amount of skin on show to explore the town respectfully. In theory, this playsuit has a lot going on with it's blue and white gingham, it's scattered lemons, lace trim shorts, key hole neckline and cold shoulder detailing, however, I truly feel it somewhat works to be the most beautiful and most immaculate of summer holiday get-ups I've ever owned, honestly I felt so sassy in it. 

The sass factor was also due to the accessories of a wicker hat... An absolute holiday game changer for me I have to say. Never normally one for hats on holiday, this baby came up trumps for allowing my fringe to stay in place whilst exploring and once again when it was too hot for a fringe, the hat allowed my fringe to do one whilst not making me feel any less me or compromising my sass ... Game changer I tell ya!
Gingham sandals 'cause you can never have too much gingham and a yellow netted beach bag by H&M and I was good to go and by "go" I mean good to get an Aperol Spritz or 6 you know!?

After copious amounts of Aperol Spritz' were consumed we headed back up to our villa via a 5 minute bus ride to get ready for an evening out. For this I selected this bloody beautiful pink wrap dress with ruffle detailing by Bershka and honestly felt so great in it. We all know how powerfully flattering wrap dresses are for cinching in the waist and skirting over the hips and this was certainly no exception. The fact it features such a beautiful key colour for the season and my much loved ruffle detailing was a pure coincidence I swear.
Going all out on the pink factor I threw on some SERIOUSLY comfortable pink suede mules from Topshop and some tasseled earrings by New Look. The girliest look of mine in some time but a look I felt oh so great in. 

That was until I spilt Pasta Vongole down it and had one epic oil stain... Worth it though as this Pasta Vongole was the most delicious pasta dish I have ever tried. Pasta Vongole is an Italian classic and is essentially pasta with clams cooked in white wine and is SO simple yet OH SO divine. My dad sampled Pasta Vongole from 4 different restuarants whilst in Positano which I though was such a great idea, "rate the Vongole"; maybe thats something for me to do on my return to Positano?

The restaurant I sampled Vongole at was the Ristorante Saraceno d'Oro and it was the cutest of road side restaurants lit up and sparkling by candle light, with live music and the most delicious of Italian food, I would highly recommend it for the perfect laid back evening in Positano.

Now time for another recommendation, this time a restaurant with the most sensational of views and the most delicious of fresh pasta dishes, Brunos.
All four of us left in a food coma, so perhaps not the best idea for a lunch time option but my goodness was this place delicious and those views incredible... Totally worth the midday food baby for reals!
This time around I opted for pasta Puttanesca, a simple Italian dish of tomato, olives, anchovies and capers my idea of the most perfect of pasta dishes and it was truly and utterly incredible. 
I would highly recommend Bruno's for their delicious pasta and seafood (dad had Vongole again and it was his best one yet) and for the incredible views, but if you want to make the most of the views, you have to eat. As is with most of the viewpoint restaurants in Positano, if you're just after a drink, they won't give you the best seats, just a pointer for when you visit.

For our final night we got a lil dolled up and headed up the mountain some more to a restaurant that came highly recommended, La Tagliata.
A family run restaurant that is truly beautiful in setting with the most INSANE of views of the whole mountain, with a handy shuttle bus service that will collect you from your villa or hotel 10 minutes before your reservation.

However, I have to say that the food was pretty damn terrible indeed. Not to be overly negative as it may just have been the food we were served, but yes, not a place I would recommend, although everyone you meet in the town will do so.

Crap food aside, we had a beautiful final night together, finished off with fireworks from our villa for the Corpus Christi Italian celebrations and a bottle of prosecco overlooking the stunning village. 

Tonight I wore a Zara fish tail skirt, a piece I adore and have had for some time but haven't known how to style, until this little asymmetric white crop top from ASOS came into my life and it was just the ticket to finish the look off perfectly. I felt totally chic, especially in my pointed, kitten heel, sling-backs, also from Zara, but oh so me and holiday ready at the same time.

And there we have it, our 48 hours in Positano, as my dad kept saying, a "taster" of the beautiful Amalfi Coast village. 
A taster it most certainly was as George and I are both desperate to return, to see the village again and to explore it's neighbouring towns.
