I feel really lucky to say that in my line of work, no two days are the same.
Every single day varies from the next and I completely and utterly love it that way. I love having a jam packed schedule one minute, then a week of chilled more admin style work the next. Before then jetting off somewhere for a launch event or a press trip and then back to London I go for a day of meetings. It really is my dream lifestyle and I regularly pinch myself that this is, in fact my life. It's bloody bonkers!
And luckily enough, excluding that of anything to do with a tax return, I enjoy every aspect of it. Whether that be sitting at my desk for three days, emailing, editing, writing and planning or of course travelling and meeting new people, there isn't any part of my job that I don't enjoy or look forward to, I know, I know, I am lucky to be in this position, but let me tell you, it hasn't always been this way. I know exactly how it feels to be in a job you hate, so thats why I never, ever take anything for granted in my newly found job as a full time blogger and YouTuber.

I'm regularly asked for a "day in the life of..." video, and I simply don't know which day or what to share, it's always different and never, EVER as glam as one may expect, so thats why I share my life in weekly vlog form, so that you get a little sprinkle of every day.
But in turn, these images reflect at least one-three days of my working week.
I get ready, every single day as I struggle to feel motivated without being fully dressed with some form of make up on, before heading out with Sophie or George to shoot some content for Instagram or my blog and of course finding the time to grab some much needed brunch.
Manchester has THE BEST BRUNCH joints ever! Here we're in West Corner which is a relatively new place in the Northern Quarter but other faves include Federal, Ezra & Gil & Home Sweet Home.

I'll then pop back home for all of my kit, before heading to either Ezra & Gil or Foundation, as I am here to put fingers to keyboard and get some words written up or images edited.
I thought this was a great opportunity to also share with you my day-to-day kit, the daily kit of a fashion blogger if you will?
So lets start with the bag. Oh the bag! George and I fight over this bag on a daily basis as it's the most phenomenal bag of all time, in the world ever!
It's by Gucci and is from Mr Porter, so yes, it is a mens bag, but it is oh-so totally up my street and fit's EVERYTHING I need for a day of work within it. It's super roomy inside and also seriously secure with it's buckle fastenings which means it's perfect for lugging my electronics around town with me. I simply adore the classic Gucci, red and green striped straps, combined with the monogrammed Gucci print and sassed up with patches featuring Donald Duck, luggage stamps, florals and embellishments, it's the perfect bag for both George and I to adopt, especially whilst travelling. We've done a lot of travelling lately and this bag has served us well as a good ole over nighter.

So with that, now for whats inside the bag.
Above you can see my Apple Macbook Pro, it's not quite the latest version but I believe is the biggest you can get at 15inches. I selected the biggest design due to the fact it's the only thing I work from, so I need to see my images and my videos as big as possible without having the iMac (ONE DAY!) It's not the easiest nor definitely not the lightest thing to lug about with me but it does me proud and keeps me busy on the go.
Camera-wise, I generally have one or both of these with me AT ALL TIMES! I'll start with the bigger of the two, the Canon 70D a really cracking camera I must say, yet I still don't know how to use it. It serves me well for my travels, for shooting lifestyle and for filming my YouTube videos on, and it does a belting job at shooting outfits too, if I knew exactly how to use it, but alas, I STILL haven't got myself booked into camera school (damn it) and whilst I have the uhhhhmazing Sophie by my side, it'll do me just fine for now. It has a flip screen which is what attracted it to me more than the Canon 5D, that and the fact it's a smidgeon cheaper too.
The smaller camera is my beloved Canon G7X Mark II and by far my favourite camera I've ever owned, even over that of the Olympus Pen which is a camera SERIOUSLY close to my heart. It beats the Pen, only due to it's smaller size and how lightweight it is, meaning it's so easy to slip into my pocket (patch pocket's only OBVZ) or into my cross body bag and have it at my finger tips all day long. I bought this originally for vlogging however, it's fast become my go-to for Instagram snaps too and the occasional blog post, which is SO useful as it means I don't always need to rely on carrying the 70D beast around with me.
The flip up screen is super useful for selfies and vlogging and the image/video quality is flipping excellent. The selling point for me though, with both of these cameras is the built in Wi-Fi which means in just a few seconds, I can have all of the images on my phone ready to share on Instagram... GENIUS!
iPhone wise I have the 7 plus which is absolutely giant but by far the most amazing phone I've ever had. I'm totally used to the size of it now thanks to my popsocket, a device I now wonder how I ever lived without. It's a giant button that you stick to the centre of your phone, that retracts to create either a holder, meaning your phone is much more secure in your hand or a stand, perfect for watching videos and films on the train/plane... I'll say it again... GENIUS!

To finish up this post lets chat about the outfit shall we? "A typical day in Manchester working" outfit for me. Double denim is something I truly love to rock, especially if it's a co-ord such as this by All Saints. I adore the somewhat biker-chic embroidery on the legs of the jeans and the arms of the jacket, details such as this and the frayed edging are just the ticket for making me feel a little more put together than my usual sloppy boyfriend jeans.
A comfy boyfriend fit shirt, with a pale pink satin neck-tie, because why the heck not? And my beloved Gucci Loafers with Donald Duck (again!) this time from FarFetch and my goodness, I simply cannot believe this is the first time they've featured on my blog!!! You've got your fix over on my Instagram no doubt, but SERIOUSLY I am oh-so totally in love with them, I am shocked at their lack of airtime up in here.
They're the most perfect of additions to my wardrobe with their beautiful pink eastern embroidery combined with the classic Gucci horsebit detailing, they're my go-to shoe of choice for the summer and perfect for those down day's in the city too.
Love this post! I also love seeing how hard you work! You always make AMAZING blog posts and videos! X

I would watch your video of “a day with..”. You could choose a week and show the best moments of it. I like that my job is different every week too. It’s really exciting and we avoid monotony. Great post! I really enjoyed reading it. Plus, I love your Gucci loafers!!

That bag is fab. I’ve been toying around with investing in a new camera but a DSLR is canny big to be carrying around.
Love your posts and your youtube videos Megan! You are an actual delight xx
Was wondering about photography – do you pay your photographer or is it just helping out between friends? I am struggling with this…
Thanks 🙂 xx

I pay babes 🙂
She’s a professional photographer and is bloody marvellous at what she does so I’d feel terrible not paying.
It’s a good thing we’ve got going on 🙂

Great blog post, it’s always interesting to find out how people work. Also as aspiring full-time youtubers and bloggers it’s really informative to know what you have in your kit to make all this happen!
Good to see what cameras you use and why. I’m tempted to get a wee one myself. Love the Gucci bag
