My goodness me, as if it's May!
And hello to my first post in May ey?
Following last week's debut Retrospect post, which you all seemed to really enjoy (thanks for all the messages you utter babes) I'm back with Retrospect Volume 2, a look over the past week, including what I did, where I went, what I wore, ate and drank along with any thoughts and feelings I've been having. It's nice for me to treat these posts as a little bit of therapy, as a diary if you will. I have no plan, I just let me fingers and my mind do the talking and barely edit the end result, minus the odd spelling/grammatical mistake of course.
This post, as discussed last week, was to fill the only day of the week (except Saturday) that I didn't have either a blog post or a video going live. However, with it being Bank Holiday, and with us being in Copenhagen towards the end of last week and then heading straight to the countryside for a Bank Holiday Weekend of relaxation, I struggled to stick to my promise... Sorry.
But sometimes you just have to give in to the temptation of doing nothing and sitting in your pyjamas watching Peaky Blinders, you know what I'm saying? That and also the fact that being in the countryside meant pretty terrible wifi, so instead we're kicking off the "working" week with Retrospect on a Tuesday, you don't mind now do ya?
Anyhoo, enough of my excuses.
This past week has felt like the longest week EVER! Which is nice in some respects, as I've been feeling like time has been flying before my very eyes for so long now, so the fact this week has been completely non-stop and therfore long as hell, has left me knackered but also extremely happy and fulfilled.
I'm really enjoying putting these posts together for you as it's nice to look back over the past week, to work out what I've learnt and to tackle the week ahead with new thoughts and ideas.
So this week kicked off with a Saturday fancy dress shopping, which was HIGHLY unsuccessful to say the least. It's my uncles 60th birthday next week and it's seventies themed which I am TOTALLY buzzing for but also struggling with as I want to look at least a little different to my day to day, but when you're so heavily inspired by that era it can be a little tricky. It's on this week's to-do list to nail both mine and George's fancy dress looks, so if you have any ideas at all, please do let me know.
The day was spent with my family and fuelled by coffee, which this entire post seems to be, from the look of the photos anyway.
It was a really lovely day which ended with dinner and lots of G&T's for my beautiful sisters 23rd birthday, God that gal is old 😉

I had a bit of a wardrobe meltdown that evening, which you would have seen if you're up-to-date with my weekly vlog.
However, in the end, and after I’d pulled myself out from under my strop, I ended up really enjoying my outfit of choice; simple ripped jeans, a black velvet shirt and a pair of seriously statement earrings from H&M.
I have to say that despite being absolutely flipping gorgeous, the earrings weigh an absolute tonne and I found myself moaning about the weight of them for the majority of the night, but my goodness are they worth it, such a beautiful design and really quite a talking point with such a simple outfit.

Following a Sunday sans hangover which was a treat, and having had the flat to myself, I spent Sunday afternoon pottering, tidying and ironing whilst getting stuck into the new Netflix series Girl Boss. Whilst I’m really enjoying it and finding it a seriously easy watch, there are elements that I find irritating from someone else who tried to break into the fashion industry, but to be honest I also found the book highly annoying too.
However, the actress that plays Sophia is drop-dead-gorgeous and her styling is out of this world so they’re two reasons right there why I think you should all get involved with it.
Monday came and went in a huge blur of life admin.
Receipt filing (my worst job in ALL the world), outfit planning, packing and drafting up blogposts for the week. It was a get-shit-done kinda day as I knew I was going to be busy and away for the rest of the week.
In true Megan and George style, we did find the time to head out for a cup of coffee a chocolate orange brownie and a bit of a breather.
Our Monday ended at my parents house for Faye’s 23rd birthday tea before she headed back off to London *Insert crying emoji and heartbreaking emoji here*
Now when it comes to the outfits, this week I struggled.
I really feel like I've lost my styling mojo right now, which I feel always happens, like clockwork at this time of year.
The shops are selling all things off the shoulder and floral, in shades of pastel and with teeny tiny hemlines and I just don't feel ready. Whilst currently not feeling very confident body wise (this MUST change) I'm avoiding getting my legs and arms out at any cost and of course the weather isn't quite there yet for us all to head outside sans faux fur jacket.
It's one of those things we all go through and whilst it's by no means the worst thing in the world, it's something I struggle with as thats what my job is all about, inspiring you guys through my own styling. So when I find myself in this kind of rut it's frustrating to say the least.
I'm planning for the next few weeks to work out which trends I want to buy in to and the kind of summer vibe I'm feeling, that and also getting off my fat ass and doing some exercise, these mysterious tummy rolls aren't going to shift themselves now are they?

Slogan tee's have been my go-to though.
There's something about them that makes me feel more like me and I truly believe they're a total styling saviour. I've invested quite heavily in a few newbies recently which I'm sure you'll be seeing very soon in an upcoming post or video of some ilk. This one's from Topshop and is oh-so totally awesome indeed! Awesome yes, but it's also a charity tee for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer which makes it all the more wonderful indeed. I've left the link above for you as 30% of each tee sold goes straight to the charity, how awesome is that! If you snap it, make sure you use the hashtag #FashionStrong as I'd sure as hell love to see em.

Towards the end of the week George and I headed to Copenhagen, but more of that coming up this week with a V delicious guide to spending 48 hours in the amazing Danish city.
But I thought I'd share two of the looks I sported for our first day in Copenhagen as we were there with the awesome brands Selected Femme and Selected Homme. They kindly invited us over there to attend their press day which was totally amazing of them.
We had a delicious brunch with many a blogger and journalist and were treated to a live performance by Danish fave Fallulah and she totally blew both George and I away! I'd deffo recommend checking her out, even just for her cover of The doors Light My Fire... UNREAL!
We were then lucky enough to raid their sample room, which is where I picked up this white laser cut top with high neck and tapered waist detailing, it's oh so delicate but totally statement with that sixties touch that I love so much. I styled it with the only pair of "dressy" shoes I had with me and my trusty ASOS Farleigh Jeans for a night on the town... Let's just say many a cocktail were consumed...

I also shot with the awesome team at Yeti again which was once again a dream come true!
The things those guys do is totally incredible and we ended up having another awesome day together. But this video is quite possibly my favourite video to date! It was in collaboration with Sunglasses Shop x Ray-Ban as, as you know, George and I are Ray-Ban ambassadors for 2017 and I am SO happy with how the video turned out.
It was bloody FREEZING and I styled up rather spring like get-ups, but I don't think you can tell all too much, minus the occasional goose-bump or two.
If you haven't seen it please do, just click here to be taken straight to it. It's short and snappy but I am SO insanely proud of it and so grateful to Yeti for being such cinematic genius'.
So there we go, another week done and dusted.
I'd love to know what you think of this style of post and if you enjoyed it as much as the last one. It's been a crazy busy week and I must say I'm excited to get back to normality and just be at home doing what I love most, creating content!
It's been a mental few weeks, as you'll know if you're up-to-date with my vlogs, so a relaxed week or two at the flat is most definitely on the agenda pour moi.
Have a good week you lot and remember you can watch the week in motion in the video below.

Love the vlog! I also don’t really care for showing off my legs at the moment, but there are so many cute skirts and shorts out right now I’m might just have to try some. I also totally feel you about the styling rut! This transitional weather is the absolute worst when it comes to getting dressed.

I would love to hear more about your experience trying to break into the fashion industry (and succeeding) and how it differs from what is portrayed on TV (like in Girl Boss etc) – would be really interesting to hear the stereotypes and misconceptions dissected by someone who really knows about it.

That Selected Femme top is everything! I love how you’ve styled it.
I reallý enjoy these diary style posts. It’s great to have a sneak peek into your week and gives you a chance to show your personality as well as your style. I’m trying to work out how to do something similar without looking like I’m copying anyone. Also, my week is a lot less interesting! I’m looking forward to your next instalment.
