BLOUSE- c/o SELECTED FEMME (coming soon)
Here goes another retrospect post, this time volume three and the first retrospect of May, despite being the second week of the month... I accidentally found myself having a week off from both vlogging and therefore retrospecting last week, I do apologise for that, and to be honest I have no excuse, I don't really know how that happened, but alas, it did so here I am with numero tres.
So this week has been a bit of a fail of a week.
From Friday last week I completely broke my vlogging camera... AGAIN! These bloody Canon G7X mark ii's are so damn fragile it's insane! Pulling out my vlogging camera every few minutes is now part of my day-to-day so naturally my camera gets a little beaten and bruised from time to time, but this is the second time it's been completely out of action, damn it! However, I really wanted to vlog my weekend, so quickly ordered a new one from John Lewis which, might I add was such a wonderful experience, they were so fast and efficient and I had my camera in less than 24 hours later.
However, like the moron I am, I accidentally packed the broken camera in my overnight bag on Saturday morning instead of the shiny new camera, so couldn't bloody vlog on it anyway (FML), which explains the shoddy iPhone footage and snaps from the fancy dress party on Saturday night.
Epic fail's aside, last week was a good one, albeit a chilled one. It's funny isn't it, that thing called life. We have our ups, our downs and highs and our lows and with all of the above we still seem to be both happy but stressed. I like to call it happy stress, when you're happy with how everything is going, whether that be a really busy and exciting week, or that of a chilled, laid-back week; However what comes with both of those kind of week's is a little bit of stress. For the first, stress of not having enough hours in a day to get the never ending to-do list complete and the second for not having enough work to fill the hours in the day, oh life. This week involved that of the latter as you may have already guessed by now...

But anyway, lets back it up a little bit. Friday was a bit of a pinch me moment and I have to say a little career highlight of mine.
I had the opportunity to work with Mulberry, a brand I've admired, lusted and obsessed over since I was around 16 years old. I have two Mulberry bags in my collection, my first ever dabbling into luxury purchasing, so it's a brand that is extremely close to my heart. I'm ALL about the new rebrand and how they've brought things back to their roots, branding wise, so it's beyond exciting to have one of their all new bags in my collection, I can't wait to shoot it properly for the blog. Here's a lil sneak peek of the bag I selected, a gorgeous mini Bayswater which has the bonus feature of being a cross body bag, truly perfect for me in every way.
I chose the teal shade as it's brand new for AW17 and such a great, versatile colour whilst still being ever so quirky indeed. It's love and I'm so excited to introduce it to my wardrobe and to you guys in due course.
Saturday came and it was FINALLY time to dress up for my uncles 60th birthday party which as discussed in my last Retrospect post, was seventies themed. George and I ordered matching seventies fancy dress costumes from eBay but they unfortunately didn't turn up and still haven't turned up, which reminds me I must request a refund asap.
So Thursday night was met with frantically rummaging through our wardrobes to find the perfect seventies get up. Thankfully the seventies is HUGE right now in the ole fashion world and it's no surprise that it's a trend that I adore so finding both myself and George the perfect seventies outfit from clothes I already had was pretty easy indeed.
I opted for this utterly beautiful off the shoulder dress with EPIC tiered flared sleeves by Storets, teamed with my favourite star print boots, any excuse to whack those bad boys out, a baker boy hat, snake belt and some OTT star earrings from ASOS, not bad ey? A Soul Train disco diva ready to hit the dance floor, and that is exactly what I did... ALL NIGHT LONG! Dancing around to seventies tunes with my little sister is my ideal of heaven so a good night was had by all!

DRESS- c/o STORETS (coming soon), BELT- JUST CAVALLI, HAT- NEW LOOK (old SIMILAR), EARRINGS- ASOS, SHOES- DAISY STREET, BAG- CHLOE

The weather this week in Manchester has been TOTALLY insane to say the least. The sun has shone ALL week long, which lets face it is a little unheard of here in Manchester. I mean, it's May for crying out loud, this should not be news. But alas, it is and it finally looks like spring is rearing it's beautiful head, better late than never ey? It meant that we've had the perfect weather for shooting some rather exciting shots for some rather exciting projects that as always I'm so excited to share with you.
I spent all day on Monday shooting with my love, Sophie which, as always, and as you'll have seen if you've seen this week's vlog, was a barrel of laughs. I then spent Tuesday with George; we spent the majority of the morning in a very exciting and terribly nerve-wracking meeting, which I'm hoping to have news on in the very near future, but until then...
We then spent the afternoon in the sunshine, trying out the all new Cold Brew Starbucks beverages and just basically catching up and lapping one another up in the sunshine, which was bloody lovely indeed.

T-SHIRT- RAGGED PRIEST, SKIRT- ASOS, BOOTS- V V V OLD ASOS

Outfit wise, I have to say I'm still in a little bit of a style rut. I'm just terribly uninspired in all aspects of my work right now, which happens sometimes. As I've said a few times, I believe it's the turn of the season and the weather not quite reflecting whats in stores, but it'll catch up soon I'm sure. I kept things simple for the majority of the week with what I know I feel great in. Slogan tee's, gingham and stripes made up the basis of the looks, with some seasonal accessories thrown in for good measure.
I'm uninspired in my wardrobe, with words for the blog and with ideas for my YouTube channel too. It's frustrating as hell, especially as these past two weeks and next are my down time before things really heat up again, so they should be spent gathering content ready to share when things get a little too hectic to create, but alas here I am, bogged down with a spell of creative block.
If you have any content ideas big or small then please do let me know, it would mean the absolute world!

I just quickly wanted to touch upon this beautiful Monica Vinader Fiji Bracelet too. It's in conjunction with the fact La La Land aka my absolute FAVOURITE film ever is coming out on DVD... HURRAH! So with that, it's beautifully inscripted with the words "Here's to the fools that dream" which is taken from the song "Audition" within the film. It's a truly beautiful bracelet with a seriously beautiful message and I'm totally over the moon to have a third MV bracelet to add to my wrist (see more of my jewellery collection here)
JACKET- c/o ALL SAINTS, TSHIRT- TOPSHOP, TROUSERS- ASOS, BAG- LOEWE, SHOES- GUCCI

SUNGLASSES- SAINT LAURENT c/o SUNGLASSES SHOP, SWEATSHIRT- c/o ETRE CECILE, JEANS- c/o MATALAN, SHOES- ASOS, BAG- ASOS
So there we go, another week wrapped.
I hope you've enjoyed catching up and I promise next week will be a little more exciting news wise, this week's been both frustrating and hard working and I'm hoping next week will be a little more on the fun side of the scale.
Have a gooden errrrbody
