SHIRT- H&M
Hello there and Happy Monday.
Welcome to what I hope will become a weekly thang here on PBM, schedule dependant and all that.
But basically I really LOVE the idea of having a different piece of content going out every day on my channels (except Saturdays, who wants to read on a Saturday anyway!?*)
Whilst I post daily on Instagram and Twitter I wanted my blog and YouTube channels to host alternate content on every day of the week.
I'm currently posting video's three times a week which I LURRRRVE and then posting up in here twice a week, so it's just Monday thats not got it's own little thing going on.
Not one to favour, I thought I'd give Monday it's own thing to look forward to and came up with Retrospect.
This is Retrospect Volume 1.
A look back over my week and a little "Dear Diary" style post.
I mentioned at the beginning of the year that I wanted to bring back the diary style posting that got me into this crazy ole world of blogging four years ago now, and I think this is just the ticket.
I'm FOREVER taking snaps for Instagram and Twitter and thought it might be nice to share those, along with those that didn't quite make the cut, here on my blog so you can see what I've been up to, and to support that of the ole weekly vlog.
It occurred to me that some of you may not be as frequent YouTube viewers as I, so you might be interested in seeing what I get up to in photograph form rather than in video form... What d'ya say?
*That was a joke

So this week was by no means a typical week for me.
It was absolutely carnage and involved A HECK LOAD of eating and drinking, which you'll know all to well if you've caught my vlog this week.
Basically, my dear Nanna Doris turned the big 8-0 and we did a shed load of celebrating because, I mean why the heck not!? 80 is seriously one hell of a milestone and she bloody well deserves being completely and utterly spoilt this year!
My mum and dad hosted a beautiful Easter Sunday party for her and all the family and it was truly wonderful to be surrounded by my most nearest and dearest and to be celebrating the head of the family in such a way.
There was delicious food cooked by Mamma Ellaby and baked by Father Ellaby, dancing, cocktails by yours truly and Jaegermeister c/o George Craig!!! Yep, thats right Nanna Doris had not one, but TWO Jaeger shots and called us the morning after to say she was hungover... WHAT.A.WOMAN!
Her official birthday was on Wednesday so we celebrated some more with lunch and drinks... As you can see from the above image, I may have only had a salad for lunch and a number of gin & tonics for desert...

The Saturday before Nanna's celebrations began George and I hit town for a rather impromptu shopping trip and got a lil bit spendy to say the least... Well, he did anyway. I picked up that GORGEOUS pink ruffle blouse in the first image of this post, it's from H&M and is probably the most ghastly thing in my wardrobe, which, of course means I love it even more!
George went a bit cray cray and pretty much updated his entire wardrobe! There's something SO fun about shopping for another person, don't you think? I find it much easier to shop for George than I do for me and it's always so nice to see him treating himself. Perhaps there's a blogpost or video in that but styling him is SO MUCH FUN!

Outfit-wise this week I went for tonnes of colour as per.
Red is a shade that I simply cannot get enough of right now, it makes me feel oh so powerful whilst also feeling extremely young and playful, I think juxtapositioning in that way is is why I'm opting for it so regularly right now.
This blazer is a newbie to my life and I really like how it looks when contrasted with monochrome; red, black and white is a complete colour combo failsafe in my eyes.
Another favourite colour choice right now, as you may be able to tell is pink.
I spied this striped and ruffled fine knit tee in H&M whilst shopping with George at the weekend and simply had to have it. I believe it was £19.99 too, so an utter bargain, I'm not sure I've ever found a more "Megan" piece.

We ate like bloody champions this week and I wanted to take this opportunity to give some awesome foodie recommendations for Manchester, should you be visiting any time soon.
First up is Yard & Coop a fried chicken joint in the heart of the Northern Quarter. My family and I visited there on Good Friday and as per usual, it definitely didn't let us down. The decor is seriously bright, colourful and eclectic, whilst the food is simple but absolutely divine. Fried chicken with skin-on-fries and a sauce of your choice, or of course a fried chicken burger, salad or otherwise.
It's a great relaxed little place that I always recommend to people new to the area. PLEASE also try the chip shop curry... You will not be disappointed.
Next up we have Albert Schloss!
If you've already seen my vlog or perhaps you were around last week when I had a love-in with them over on Instagram Stories, well... I love that place OH SO MUCH.!
Towards the bottom of Deansgate Albert Schloss is one almighty bar, a bar that is flipping huge, decked out with a German ski-lodge vibe and I've quite honestly never seen it quiet.
I've also never been anywhere quite like it before in the sense that it caters for everyone! Any type of person, old or young, male or female, for couples, groups of boys and girls, older people like my Nanna and the occasional family, it's a place with absolutely no front, with no airs and graces just a bunch of people who are there for a good time.
The drinks are also completely TO DIE FOR, I would highly recommend the Watermelon Aperol Spritz and the food is truly delicious; but what does it for me is the incredible service from the waiters and front of house staff. They're always SO welcoming and so helpful, but on my Nanna's birthday they took it to a whole new level. Offering us two free bottles of Prosecco, giving my Nanna a Happy Birthday Ice Cream dish and rejigging their entire reservations to ensure that my Nanna could have a table on her 80th birthday. It was incredible and I cannot thank them enough for always being so wonderful, but especially on that night for my little ole Nanna Dot.
We also tried out Rosso for the first time this week too, and it was such a beautiful restaurant. A beautiful room decked out in marble, see the image of my little Princess Faye for scale. It was a really fancy affair but the food was INSANE so I already can't wait to go back.

So there we have a little look over the past week, I really hope you enjoyed reading this post and hearing a little more about what I get up to.
I thought it would also be a really good excuse to talk more about my weekly outfits and recommendations for Manchester whilst offering a little insight into my world. Please let me know what you think and check out the video below to see it in action.

p.s. I absoloutely love your confidence in colour, I’m trying to add bits here and there to my rather monochrome wardrobe!
I already love this new series <3 Your blog is the Platform I prefer, I feel like there is this little spice on your writing that makes it "Ho-so-special". And of course your photography is so amazing that every outfit deserves its own little pic ! Keep up the good work, I'm excited to read what comes next (and I love reading on a saturday :p ) Lots of love <3
Beautiful pictures 🙂
I love your style 🙂

I discovered your blog through your youtube channel and I found this to be the perfect companion piece to the weekly vlog! hopefully you’ll keep doing it x
also: i really really love your style! i’ve been binging all your videos and it’s amazing how consistent you are but at the same time you try different things that still makes sense overall. that’s when you can tell the style been shown is authetic, imo, which makes it more enjoyable for the audience. anyway, this is a compliment to you and your amazing style and your amazing content on all your online platforms, hahaha!
