Happy Sunday Kiddos!
I hope you've all had a really wonderful weekend indeed, and how wonderful that it's a Bank Holiday too, NO WORK TOMORROW WAHOOO!
A few posts ago I divulged you with some thoughts on my latest luxury purchases, purchases good and bad, mulled over and otherwise and I really hope you found it useful. You lot know I'm a HUGE advocate for the British high street and everything it has to offer. I simply ADORE the trend based pieces, the way you can mix up your look seasonally and for any occasion too, not to mention the sheer affordability of it all.
With that, one of my fave high street stores, New Look have kindly sponsored this post today, along with the complimenting video too (check it out here) to show how to elevate your high street look, using the occasional luxury purchase or two.
When it comes to shopping for clothing, the high street wins hands down and ALWAYS, ALWAYS will do for me. It's always been the case and it will forever more be the case, I don't believe you need to spend a lot of money on clothing to look both on trend and high end, it's what you do with the pieces thats the key.
However, luxury handbag's well, we all know that I'm a sucker for them, and I truly believe that you could be wearing ANYTHING and then throw on a luxury handbag that makes you feel a million dollars and your look is elevated to the absolute max, similarly to the occasional pair of designer shoes but in this instance, that isn't the case at all.

GINGHAM, I am completely and utterly obsessed with the stuff, if you hadn't already noticed. I've gone a bit gingham cray cray, but it's just such a great accessible trend for anyone. It's a totally adorable and somewhat childlike print that is oh-so nostalgic for me, for all those school uniform reasons, but it can be totally tomboy'ed up with ease, especially when combined with simple silhouettes such as this long sleeved tee from New Look and tailoring which I've featured in the video too. It's a trend I can't see slowing down anytime soon and thats a bloody good thing since I've invested in it so highly already... Oops.
But thats the sheer beauty of high street dressing, you can divulge into a trend massively without spending a shed tonne, it's a win, win situation if you ask me.
Vinyl and high shine pieces are another thing that the high street are doing oh-so wonderfully right now. It's a HUGE trend this summer, which is something I'm finding totally interesting indeed due to the somewhat festive connotations that come with it. But I must say, that juxtaposition just amplifies my love for it. This red mini skirt is the perfect partner in crime for the picnic blanket inspired tee for a totally matchy matchy get-up, throw in some floral double strap sandals and you've nailed three trends in one look, HURRAH!

Now this look is totally trend heavy, what with the gingham, vinyl, florals and fishnets; so a classic handbag is essential.
In steps my absolutely beloved Gucci Dionysus bag. With it's classic shape, it's iconic GG print and the gothic silver hardware it's the perfect piece to tone down the colour heavy get-up and elevate it to a whole new high fashion level, smart ey? The clashing of the gucci print with the gingham gives me all the feels, it's the perfect quirky addition to such an awesome look.
Make sure you check out today's video here too, to see this look plus two other looks in motion. Three New Look outfits elevated by the beauty of one or two classic luxury pieces.

I truly hope you've enjoyed this post.
It's not something I've ever really spoken about on here before, but thats simply because I've never owned any luxury pieces. It's really exciting for me to be able to share my purchases with you and show that it's totally NOT about head-to-toe luxury outfits and it never will be. It's all about combining your high street faves such as New Look with your spendy pieces and a spot of thrifted vintage to create something oh so totally wonderful and unique to you.
