With a very special ladies day coming up this Sunday and with international women's day a few weeks back, I wanted to share some girl love and of course some girl power with you all.
Following Tuesdays confidence post I was truly blown away by your support and love.
I received messages of positivity on Twitter and Instagram along with countless emails from girls I had no idea even read my blog, yet they go through the EXACT issues I do with self confidence or lack thereof. It was totally reassuring that SO many other girls my age are going through the same insecurities as I and it was even nicer to hear the stories of those who were a little older to insure us all that the "fuck em all" attitude comes with age... Thank goodness for that!
I was completely and utterly gob smacked by your incredible feedback and it made me so proud to have, rather accidentally, created such a buzz within our little PBM world. A buzz that prompted women to discuss their own stories, swapping tips and generally giving us a virtual hug and a "Girl you got this" pat on the back.
It really struck a chord with me, as in a world that is currently in disarray and with girl on girl beef, competition and rivalry, it was SO wonderful to have shown that we've got each other and we're still supporting, cheering and egging each other on!
I've wanted to write this post for quite a while now I must say, ever since I heard a particular song on Lady GaGa's latest album Joanna, that really and truly resonated with me.
I wanted to write down the lyrics for all to see as I think they're a powerful one to say the least, and the fact it's a duet with the glorious Florence Welch, well that's just too much girl love to handle... Ha, as if there ever could be too much girl love!
So without further ado...

Verse 1: Lady Gaga & Florence Welch]
Hey girl, can you hear me? Are you holding out your heart? Hey girl, do you feel me? Sometimes I go too far
Hey girl, it ain't easy I know it's pulling me apart
But darlin', don't you leave me
Baby, don't you leave me
[Chorus: Lady Gaga & Florence Welch]
Hey girl, hey girl
We can make it easy if we lift each other
Hey girl, hey girl
We don't need to keep on one-in' up another
Hey girl, hey girl
Hey girl, hey girl
If you lose your way
Just know that I got you
[Verse 2: Lady Gaga & Florence Welch]
Lady is it lonely? I been callin' out your name
Tell me that you need me
'Cause I need you just the same
Everyday a heartache I'm just tryin' to keep it sane
But I know you believe me
Baby don't you leave me
[Chorus: Lady Gaga & Florence Welch]
Hey girl, hey girl
We can make it easy if we lift each other
Hey girl, hey girl
We don't need to keep on one-in' up another
Hey girl, hey girl
Hey girl, hey girl
If you lose your way
Just know that I got you

The words "We can make it easy if we lift each other" and "We don't need to keep on one-in up another" particularly hit home for me and I believe are serious words to live by. Supporting and celebrating one another is something that we've all been championing lately which is truly inspiring indeed. Pushing one another to do better rather than putting one another down is the only way to go from here on out. I am so proud to be female and so proud to be living my dream amongst other incredibly talented and creative women.
So with that, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to share some girl love, women who are forever inspiring me on a daily basis, whether that be through style, words, creativity, personality, kindness or all of the above, they're a totally incredible bunch of ladies, and I hope you will love them as much as I do.

I just had to start with Freddie Harrel, someone I've mentioned on here once before. Freddie is my go-to for style inspiration, I simply adore the way she uses colour to create the most wonderfully fun and inspiring looks. She layers up, clashes and goes a lil cray-cray up on ya and I simply adore it, a girl after my own heart when it comes to styling thats for sure.
I also really adore how inspiring and empopwering she is with words, her captions always evoke thoughts within me, they get me thinking about my own attitude towards life and various other topics that I wouldn't normally have thought about that day. She's cheeky, she's witty, fun and TOTALLY intelligent, just an all round little gem that I dare you not to love!
PINS are an all girl punk band that I completely and utterly ADORE!
I first discovered them back in Brighton at The Great Escape Festival and have since been OBSESSED! They're totally bad ass in every sense of the word, from their awesome punk styling, their totally epic showmanship on stage not to mention the sheer talent of them to the fact they're from Manchester (whoop whoop) and have recently dueted with IGGY POP for goodness sake! Their music really gets to me, it's totally empowering that these 5 mega babes are making waves in the punk music scene and it's been SO exciting seeing them go from strength to strength. If you've not already checked out their tunes, PLEASE do NOW! I predict massive things for these babes.
I'm sure you saw this one coming as it's no secret that I am a HUGE fan of Helen and everything she does.
Her Instagram is one of my absolute faves due to the seriously matchy-matchy pink and blue vibes that she's got going on, but what I truly adore are her videos. From fashion hauls, to "adult shit" to her hilarious daily vlogs, Helen is always a highlight of my day.
Helen is unashamedly herself and I truly TRULY adore that about her. There's no front with her, there's no facade, no faking! She is Helen Anderz and what you see is what you get. Her stye is right up my street also and I totally adore her rock n roll vibes... BEST MUSIC TASTE EVER!

AKA my one and only!
This girl is slaying the game when it comes to photography and I don't just mean because she's the photographer behind the majority of posts here on PagesByMegan.com. Sophie wows me each and every day with her drive and commitment to her clients, not to mention her incredible and unprecedented talent and eye for all things photography. She also does everything with a smile and with grace and has THE best cackle in all the land. What a good egg and a great friend!
Oh Victoria, what a girl boss this one is! I'm always totally in awe of the quality of Victoria's content, it's literally like nothing else out there in the world of blogging. You can totally see her dedication, commitment and hard work in every single piece of content she creates, whether that be on her blog, Instagram or YouTube channel. Not only does Victoria impresses me immensely whilst inspiring me on the regular, but she is also one of the sweetest most infectious personalities I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Go on girl, you keep doing it for the Northern babes!
If you watch my videos over on YouTube you'll know how much Dusty Springfield inspires me. Her music is truly and utterly beautiful and her album Dusty In Memphis is by far my favourite and most played album EVER! Her voice is like velvet and the way in which she sings those beautiful lyrics always completely touches me deeply. Surprisingly Dusty had no self confidence in her vocal abilities and would record her tracks with the sound completely mute in ears, this is something that truly resonates within me, as you'll know if you caught my last post on my issues with confidence.
She is a true inspiration for me on a daily basis and the Dusty In Memphis album is my go-to for times of relaxation, times of happiness and times of sadness, it is truly, truly beautiful and I would URGE you to have a listen.

I really hope you enjoyed this little girl power post. I hope I've introduced you to some awesome females that you can also go and champion! Let's all be mates and share the love more regularly.
x M

In all honesty, I would’ve never thought of pairing that skirt with a pink lace shirt but…it works! How? You pull it off so well!
I’m all about that girl power. I am definitely new to the blogging world, however I find so many inspiring people every day which I would love to know on a personal, friend level. It was awesome to read some nice, inspiring comments about your friends. I love positivity.

Aside from the absolutely bloomin’ gorgeous outfit here, this post has got me raising my arms in the air and shouting PREACH SISTER!
It saddens me how many gals I see competing with each other or putting others down whether it’s based on looks, success or just for who they are. We’re all different, all striving to be the best version of ourselves, but above all else, we’re all ladies and we should just support each other.
Everyday I’m proud to be a girl, proud of what our gender has fought through, been through, and continues to go through but sometimes I feel downhearted with the actions of others.
Let’s live each day with an immense amount of girl power!
Thanks for the lush ladies you’ve mentioned Megs! 🙂

YAS! Love this song and couldn’t agree more to this article! We’re all on the same team girls, let’s lift each others up
I really loved reading this post, so inspirational and different to all of the other generic ‘This is what I’m wearing blog posts’ that a lot of us (including me) get stuck in. You inspire me so much x
