A week or so ago, George and I packed up the car and headed on a mini road trip to Worcestershire for a very exciting and very much needed mini break away.
Both George and I are both self employed, we’re our own bosses and therefore struggle to take some well deserved time off.
With my blogging and video making, and George’s recent project of opening a bar in Manchester’s Northern Quarter amongst many other things, it’s safe to say that we both needed some R&R, some time out and some much needed alone time together.
George has been working relentlessly since October last year to secure, transform and launch Jimmy’s Bar to Manchester’s drinking and live music scene and my goodness has he done a stellar job. However, naturally it’s eaten into every aspect of our lives and I knew that he could do with some time out and some time away.
So, with that, for Christmas I booked us two nights away in a treehouse, Lime Treehouse in Little Comberton for three days of “Us Time” and three days of total relaxation.
You may have seen some cheeky snaps, boomerangs and stories over on our socials, and after SO many of you wanted to know some further details about our stay, I thought I’d put together a little photo diary with tonnes of information should you fancy stay-cation-ing in a treehouse yourself.

Lime Treehouse is situated in the picturesque town of Little Comberton in Worcestershire, just a 2.5 hour drive from Manchester, the perfect distance for a mini-break in the UK, in my opinion.
It was really easy for us to find thanks to the lovely owners Richard and Emma's email detailing exactly how to find it and what to do once we had arrived.
Thankfully, we arrived on a truly beautiful mild Spring day and we were greeted by the most wonderful of welcome packs which combined a bottle of champagne, bacon, eggs, fresh bread, granola, milk, crisps and cookies, a really lovely touch indeed and the perfect combination of treats for a few days away in the country.

Whilst George started up the log fire, I popped open the complimentary champagne and we settled down for a night in front of the fire with countless board games and even more countless bubbles.
The Treehouse was incredibly decorated, with a real shabby-chic meets French Armoir meets Scandi-Ski-Lodge vibe to it. The striped bed sheets were the softest I have EVER experienced and the bed, oh the bed, for the both of us it was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, making our stay at The Lime Treehouse all the more wonderful indeed.
The Treehouse was decked out with a fully working kitchen with microwave, hob-stove, fridge and dishwasher, a free standing bath at the end of the bed, along with a seating area, two single beds (in addition to the AMAZING double) and a private hot tub.

Whilst searching for the perfect accommodation for our quirky weekend away, I knew I wanted to find something really out of the ordinary accommodation wise, and I knew I wanted it to have it’s own hot-tub. The two of those elements, for me, made it all the more special for George and I and therefore the epitome of the perfect Christmas gift.
I quickly stumbled upon the website Canopy & Stars, an incredible website full of the most weird and wonderful of accommodation, whether it was Treehouse's, Yurts or Lodges, it featured the most interesting of holiday homes.
When I found The Lime Treehouse, fit with it’s own hot tub, just 2.5 hours away and with THAT decor, I knew it was the one!

We spent our first night in the hot-tub, chatting, laughing and drinking the night away. After three bottles of bubbles and feeling suitably tipsy drunk we retreated back inside the treehouse and George knocked up Steak and Veg for our dinner, it was such a treat to essentially be “on holiday” but to have the facilities to cook for ourselves.
Three bottles of bubbles and a glass of red wine down, we found ourselves fast asleep at 830pm, sleeping RIGHT THE WAY THROUGH until 11:30am… WHAT THE!?
I simply cannot tell you how magical our first night at the treehouse was.
It was the most relaxing and the most romantic night of my life, seated, in a hot tub under the stars, with champagne and the man of my dreams… It’s a night I will want to relive for the rest of my life.
The following day, having woke up to the most incredible of views and the birds tweeting, we slowly got ready and headed out to explore Chipping Campden, a seriously cute town that my parents suggested we check out. We spent a few hours out and about before desperately wanting to get back to our little haven in the tree.
A quick dip in the hot tub and then it was time for a movie marathon.
The treehouse has a HUGE array of awesome DVD’s which meant we were set for the night.
Four films down and a delicious pasta dish cooked by yours truly and we were out for the count once more.

I’ve never, in my entire life been on a trip and felt so relaxed.
Usually I’m up at the crack of dawn, ready to explore our surroundings, constantly researching things to do, see and places to eat; whereas this time around our trip was all about making the most of our accommodation, in this case an incredible wooden house in a tree.
It’s made me look again and think twice about trips from now on, to really think about the accommodation I’m booking rather than the location and the things to do; I have honestly never felt relaxation quite like it and am already craving peace and quiet, R&R and quality time just like that.

George and I both had the most magical time and really felt that we fell in love with one another all over again whilst also falling in love with the UK and all the hidden gems it has to offer.
Here’s to more stay-cations, to exploring this wonderful country, to having time out from work and reconnecting with the ones you love the most. To slowing down, unwinding and stepping away from our phones and laptops to truly take in every single moment.
The Lime Treehouse will forever more be a very special place for us. We’re already thinking about returning in the summer, perhaps with a group of friends in tow? Who knows, but what I do know is that if you haven’t already gathered,we had the BEST most beautiful time at The Lime Treehouse and I simply could not recommend this hidden gem more.
