Jeans have got to be my absolute favourite item of clothing.
Now is that a bold statement, or is that a bold statement?
I've not always loved them though. In fact I can recall two times in my teenage-adult life where I completely abandoned them all together vowing that they just didn't suit me, didn't fit me and therefore simply weren't for me.
In recent years and more specifically recent months, I've found a real love for them all over again. A love that has quite honestly got out of control. A love that requires a one-in-one-out system as seriously, how many light wash jeans does a girl really need?
Finding the perfect pair of jeans in each shape and in each wash is a mission that many of us will take on for the rest of our lives. It's a mission that isn't always enjoyable and a mission that is bloody hard indeed.
Light wash denim is my wash of choice right now and I find myself adding to my collection on a monthly basis... Seriously somebody stop me!
If you've been following me for a couple of months you will have seen the serious love affair I've been having with my straight leg Gap Jeans or more recently my GRLFRND denim step-hem jeans, however my fight for finding the perfect kick flare has been that of a hard one I must say.
I've been a huge advocate for the power of the kick flare for around two years now, however they can often be too short or too tight round the old thigh region for all 5ft4 of me, so when I quite literally stumbled upon this STUNNING pair of Maje kick flares in the sought-after bleach denim wash one afternoon, I hop footed straight into the fitting rooms to explore the sizing.

I tried two on for size and opted for the size 8 which fit like a complete and utter DREAM!
They seem to be extremely flattering on the waist and thigh areas too, which for me is HARD to find as I have a small-ish waist and curvier thighs so usually one or the other has to suffer.
This almost-bleached wash is extremely big right now in the old trend-world and I knew it was something I wanted to get on board with as it is not to dissimilar to my beloved seventies style light wash blue denim that I love oh so dearly.
The frayed hems to the kick flares are also a pleasant update to the other styles in my wardrobe and are very reminiscent to the whole deconstructed trend that Vetements made oh-so chic.

BOMBER JACKET- c/o TOMMY HILFIGER, TOP- TOPSHOP, JEANS- MAJE, BOOTS- c/o & OTHER STORIES, SUNGLASSES- RAYBAN, BAG- c/o MCM

And the rest as they say, is history!
They're probably one of the best purchases I've made in some time and to be perfectly honest, my first denim splurge piece, which is absolutely ridiculous considering my HUGE collection and MASSIVE love for jeans.
But hey, better late than never ey.
They work wonderfully with absolutely everything and when styling them I treat them just as I would a black jean, which means they're pretty much a failsafe for me.
Here I teamed them with a bold high neck red top and my favourite faux fur bomber by Tommy Hilfiger. Adding some sass factor with my & Other Stories glitter boots and MCM box bag.
HELLO DREAM OUTFIT ALERT!

What do you think? Worth the splurge? Do you have any favourite jean brands? I'd love to hear about them if so as I deffo have the denim bug and it ain't going anywhere fast.

These jeans looks amazing, I love the outfit too 🙂 I’m so happy skinny jeans aren’t fashionable anymore, but unfortunately the basic mainstream world haven’t fully caught on.. Although mom jeans and straight legs are fairly accepted, I always get “looks” when wearing flares. You inspire me to wear them anyway!
