As I've been back in the UK for over a week now (sighs), and as I'm currently in the middle of sharing the ins-and-outs of Miami, check out my first post here, I thought I'd break it up a little with some outfit loving!
I've shared a number of my looks from Miami over on Instagram and in a video dedicated to such outfits, so I simply couldn't leave my beloved blog out of the works now could I?
So even though you may well have seen some of these already, I thought I'd share my thought process for each look and just generally have a little natter about clothes, who's with me?
Miami was HOT! Like so much hotter than I had imagined and in turn packed for, so getting ready each day was a careful and SLOW operation to say the least!
Thankfully I'd packed an array of denim shorts, t-shirts, sunglasses and trainers which meant I was able to style up some form of exploring concoction! I also learnt that if in doubt, throw on some statement sunglasses... They help EVERYTHING!
TEE- NEW LOOK, WAIST COAT- FOREVER21, SHORTS- VINTAGE LEVIS, BELT- c/o BLACK & BROWN, SHOES- CONVERSE, SUNGLASSES- RAYBAN

When it comes to swimsuits, I absolutely HATE them!
I'm rather comfortable in my own skin for the most part, but as soon as I squeeze into a bikini or a swimsuit I lose all that confidence and just feel like a complete and utter blob.
I envy those who feel great flaunting their skin but that just isn't me, and even if I wasn't soft all over and didn't have ribs that protruded further than my so called bosom I still think this would be the case... I'm just not that into it and in turn not that sexy, so having skin on show just isn't pour moi.
However, since my trip to Santorini last year, I found that high-waisted bikini's and swimsuits were my jam, they made me feel more confident in my own skin, happy in the thought that all my jiggly bits were tucked away behind the layers of elastic and neoprene.
So that's exactly the route I went down for Miami too; 1950's inspired high waisted bikini's in the most gorgeous of watermelon prints... With matching towel of course, as well as Baywatch-style shape's in electric blue (below) with a little bit of flirtation in the form of side cut-outs.
And finally with Stella McCartney (below again), a leopard print bandeau swimsuit with contrasting polka-dot panels and a zip fastening that made me feel totally bad ass, especially when clashed with the most garish of Hawaiian shirts... It is me after all.

It's no secret that I really don't like dressing for warm weather!
I've never quite found my jam when it comes to exposing skin and just generally wearing a lot less clothing.
I'm a girl who loves to layer; I enjoy nothing more than creating looks with depth, with textures, with colours and patterns so the more items of clothing I can work into the look the better.
So naturally summer styling is a little trickier when it's all about wearing as few clothes as possible.
I'm also one of those weirdo's who actually enjoys being cold, so naturally the sun and I don't always see eye to eye, which makes summer dressing even harder!
So when I was thinking about my Miami looks, knowing I was going to be exploring in the sun A LOT, I styled around the shoes... Naturally.
Converse and Stan Smiths were my base pieces, with a beautiful pair of eighties style High-Vamp flats thrown in for some extra style points.
When shopping and packing for my trip to Miami I wanted to include things that I knew I felt good in and things I generally enjoy wearing. Whether that was my trusty beaten up Converse or my fail-safe band tee's, dressing for warmer climates is all about the pieces that I trust the most!
So with that, I picked up this gorgeous ruffle-trim, off-the-shoulder top from ASOS.
I love my décolletage so this top really was perfect at making me feel great, especially as ruffles are a firm friend of mine from winter, so it feels good to be able to incorporate them into summer styling too.
I've also been a HUGE advocate for the A-Line mini skirt for some time now, and to be perfectly honest I thought I was over it.
Until I popped one on whilst in Miami and fell in love all over again.
It's my little safety blanket, the one piece that I know truly flatters my shape and accentuates my best bits and when you find a fashion friend like that, you most definitely do not let it go.

And finally I simply HAD to mention this combination, a combination you may remember seeing A LOT of throughout summer.
When I find a summer combination that I totally love and feel great in, well I won't give it up all that easily.
I adore the print of these shorts, it's just too adorable, and the cut of them means they skim over my tum and come down to the perfect length across my thighs, meaning they're perfect for teaming with simple body suits and converse.
Which is your fave look? I'd love to hear. And if you want to see these looks, plus many more in action, check out the video below.
ENJOY!

I am so tempted to purchase the red D&G sunglasses but I can’t get them in Vancouver Canada, and finding a way to get them to the UK then back to me would be a hassle… BUT I LOVE THEM!!! 🙁
However, I did stumble on a bloody brilliant sunnies site called Crap Eyewear!!! They’re based in Los Angeles, but do ship to international, and I’m in HEAVEN… all the retro colours and shapes to die for. Great quality and modest prices. I’m sure you’ve already heard of them anyway, but just thought I’d mention it, as I think you would love them! Now I just need advice in deciding which ones to choose… HELP!
Thanks a bunch for sharing this with all people you really know what you’re speaking about!
