HAVE THE CONFIDENCE TO COLOUR CLASH

Bloody hell what a week it’s been ey?!
London Fashion Week, followed by a rather exciting campaign photo shoot AND THEN the BRIT awards, but more on that coming up in Sunday’s post. It’s been a week full of pinch me moments and I for one am totally blown away by all your wonderful support, you guys really are the best in the bizz!

But in true Megan style, I was brought straight back down to reality when good ole Storm Doris decided to strike her ugly head and cause destruction on the railway lines meaning we were stranded in London. Even after an incredible week away in London there really is nothing quite like getting back home to Manchester. Only then to learn that all the trains were cancelled was quite typically “The Story Of My Life” ha!

But hey, I’m writing this from the comfort of our hire car on the M6 listening to Spotify’s Throwback Thursday playlist, and it feels good to be writing again, good to be sat down and good to have my George by my side. 
I have a number of things I want to talk about in today's post so do excuse me if it seems a little disjointed in parts, I am writing from the passenger seat of a car after all...

So anyway, now for the outfit in question.
This is the look I wore for my second day at LFW, specifically for that of the Topshop Unique and Temperley shows, my only two of the day.
I truly enjoyed rocking a rather girlie ensemble after the previous day’s tailored get-up, which, if you missed it you can catch up with here.
I clashed all my favourite colours; green, blue and pink, and felt that some way and some how it all worked rather well together.
You lot seemed to enjoy the combination too, if the comments on Instagram were anything to go by, so thanks so much for that, although many were questioning “How’ it worked and “Why” I was the only person that could pull off such a colour clash, but let me tell you honey’s we can all do it!

There’s no rhyme or reason as to why I can pull it off and you “can’t” I guess it’s just having the confidence to do such a thing. I lack confidence in many areas of my life, which I promise I’ll get around to writing about soon, but when it comes to my style, I like to think that, that is something I can confidently nail and feel pretty damn great about.

The green of this incredible Topshop Boutique cashmere knit complimented the flowers within the satin oriental print skirt from New Look, so to me, that was a no brainer of a pairing.
And to be quite honest, when I was conjuring up this look, I doubted whether the pink Kurt Geiger boots with ruffle detailing and the Cocinelle bag would be “a bit much” but was pleasantly surprised when I looked at my reflection in the mirror. It all worked like a little match made in heaven and was suitably toned down thanks to the mother of all black coats, the PVC trench coat and of course a pair of micro fish net tights.

You’ve just gotta do you. Have complete confidence in your choices and know that you look MINT! You’re the one wearing it after all, it shouldn’t matter what others think, say or side eye about the look you’ve dreamt up.

But, saying that, I have to admit that after receiving some rather nasty trolling on a recent project, and from women AND men in their mid-late 40’s, I must confess I did a little cry. I’m only human after all. They just didn’t get it. They didn’t understand my outfit choices and couldn’t possibly call that “fashion”
It hurt to be bullied once again, it hurt to have my craft ripped in to and it hurt to be shamed publicly. Trolling isn't something I have ever had to endure before so to see this kind of online bullying from those old enough to be my parents was really rather shocking indeed. HOWEVER, I gave myself a good talking to and after a cuddle from Sophie and George, I was back on top, giving them one almighty middle finger, and vowing that their mean words would only make me stronger and more daring with my outfit choices, after all, they should know better at their age and, well, what do they know about style?

So there we go, it’s all about having the confidence in yourself when it comes to colour clashing. And even people like me, who frolic around in bright-ass combo’s without a care in the world,  still get a little stung when trolling strikes, we just need to learn to be strong and essentially just serve an almighty FU to the haters.
Another whirlwind pinch me week all wrapped up. Now for another 3.5 hour drive back to the motherland, my beloved Manchester <3
