So I'm back from NYC! And oh what a trip it was. If you weren't keeping up-to-date with my travels over on Instagram or Twitter then Hey, Hi, How are ya? I've been in NYC for the past 5 days or so for a wonderful girlie shopping trip in my second favourite city, second of course to that of Manchester.
I visited the city with two wonderful ladies Amy and Em who I'm sure you already know but just incase let me tell you that you certainly must check them out!
I'll be divulging you with tonnes of New York goodness across the next few posts, including the real reason we were out in New York but for now I thought I'd kick things off with an outfit post from my trip... 'cause we all know they're the best bits amirite?!
Let me tell you, New York is bloody freezing at this time of year. I've visited twice previously, once in July, which was down right humid as HELL and more recently in November, when it was surprisingly warm for that time of year so I was seriously surprised with how nippy it was out there this time around.
Thankfully I bagged this totally incredible faux fur jacket in the January sales which majorly saved my ass, considering the only other jacket I packed was that of the PVC variety which is most definitely NOT a conductor of heat...

So with the bitterly chill of New York and a slight spot of snow, layers were KEY!
I packed quite well considering I did it the night before in a sheer panic with how quick the trip came around. Polo necks and base layers galore which came in oh-so terribly handy to say the least.
I layered a striped polo neck under my fave sweatshirt of all time from Wood Wood; you've totally seen this before (here) but it's always nice to show how I style up different pieces in very different ways is it not?
What you can't see is the two other layers I had underneath the coat, an oh so fetching cardigan and an orange embroidered bomber jacket were just the ticket to combat the cold whilst not affecting my carefully constructed navy ensemble... Smart ey?

I'm continuously yabbering on about my love for faux fur jackets, so when I spied this J Crew x Net-a-Porter beauty in the sale I squealed with excitement. Granted, it wasn't exactly cheap, but since I wear my Shrimps jacket to absolute DEATH I knew that investing in this piece was a no-brainer. And my goodness am I happy I took the plunge as it was the perfect piece for battling the minuses in New York.
It's a really thick faux fur, unlike that of my Shrimps coat, so meant I was completely toasty all day long... Plus it attracts A LOT of attention, with strangers from all over the city stopping to say how much they loved it... Which would always follow with a stroke... Not something I'm overly into but hey, I don't blame them, it is tres soft after all!

These shots were taken on Bleeker Street, my fave street in the WHOLE of New York. Situated in Greenwich Village aka the COOLEST place EVER and I'm so happy with how they turned out (Amy you nailed it)
The first snaps in a long time that I've taken and edited myself and I've completely got the photography bug once again, which you'll know is something I'm keen to get if you read my latest post here.
So what do you think of my seriously cosy and warm NYC get up? I hope you love it and I hope you're excited for more NYC goodies. Can't wait? Well thats all well and good as my NYC vlog went live over on my YouTube channel last night, take a look here.
Much Love
