Back in December, I made my last journey into London for 2016, equipped for a week of very exciting events.
Events consisting of the highly prestigious Fashion Awards, which might I add was a dream come true to have attended, along with the InStyle Project 13 Awards and the Gleam Christmas party. Whilst in London I was kindly put up for a night at the K West Hotel and Spa in Shepherds Bush, a hotel known for it's Rock & Roll history.
Over the years the K West Hotel has become known as the hangout for musicians alike. Once the home of the BBC recording studios it has seen the likes of David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix pass through it's doors and has continued to be a hotel favoured by musicians and bands due to this history and of course being just a stones throw away from Shepherds Bush Empire and Hammersmith Apollo.
Even my boyfriend George, the frontman of indie band One Night Only, spent the start of his musical career living in the hotel several years ago whist the band wrote their very first album, so it really was a blast from the past for him when we rocked up, suitcases in tow.
We chose to stay at the K West Hotel on the evening of the InStyle Project 13 Awards and the hotel provided the most perfect venue in which to get ready for such an exciting event in my career.
We were kindly offered the Embassy Suite which was a rather HUGE room to say the least, consisting of a beautifully contemporary bedroom, with a large living area and office space.

I truly loved the lime and aubergine colour scheme of the room, it was really vibrant and bright when combined with the crisp white of the walls. The contemporary, modern and airy decor was a pleasant relief from the usual industrial haunts I've visited of late and it was really nice to get ready in a truly spacious and bright room. Finding a spacious room for the night is something I've found difficult when selecting hotel's in London, so if like me, you like enough space to swing a cat then I would totally recommend this hotel.
The bed was completely to my taste, firm yet oh-so comfortable meaning a good nights sleep was had by all, but what really did it for me with this room was the truly BAD ASS and soooo on trend, crushed velvet corner suite sofa! I walked in and literally squealed with excitement... I mean c'mon how often do you come across a sofa of such beauty!?
I took residence at the desk for a couple of hours and found it to be the perfect space to get my head down and girl boss a few hours of work before hitting up the bathroom to doll myself up ready for an evening out in London, I mean, with White Company toiletries, it really was such a treat!

For the very exciting Project 13 Awards I decided to rock a suit, something I've been absolutely loving lately. It's something that totally empowers me and makes me feel like the ultimate BOSS LADY! This one is by Sister Jane aka the mother of all brands and is made from the most beautiful thick gold and emerald green jacquard. It was the perfect combo for the night and I felt truly awesome, especially when teamed with metallic heels and my beloved Gucci Soho Disco Bag... Plus, I matched the decor of our room too, the velvet sofa doing all kinds of wonders for the backdrop of these snaps.

Unfortunately, we didn't get chance to take advantage of the spa as we were short for time, however there are a number of awesome reviews online that I'd highly suggest you check out if you're looking for a relaxing spa weekend away in London, away from the hustle and bustle of course.
The bar area was another area of the hotel that really worked to impress me, with an electric atmosphere and a somewhat New York style to it, it was a great place to have a pre drink before heading into the city. The music on offer was in keeping with it's rock & roll history which was of course up mine and George's street.

Following our evening out and a very late night indeed, breakfast was high on our agenda the morning after, to which we were pleasantly surprised by what was on offer at The K West Hotel and Spa.
A waiter served dining area with made to order breakfast was such a treat compared to the usual buffet style selections at the majority of London based hotels. Featuring breakfast favourites such as Smashed Avocado and Eggs Benedict which was once again a pleasing change from the continental or fry up situations on offer at other hotels across the city.
All in all we had a really great stay at The K West Hotel and Spa and I would most definitely recommend it as a must have place to stay in the big smoke should you be looking for spacious rooms, contemporary decor and an electric atmosphere in the big smoke... Oh and of course a damn right beautiful sofa situation 😉

Yep, wow that sofa is a total dream! I will certainly be seeking out one like that when I eventually buy my own home! And I absolutely love the Sister Jane suit – I hope this wasn’t also in your lost suitcase? XX
