You know that failsafe look, the one that you can opt for day in and day out and know that you're going to look and most importantly feel good... Well this is that look for me.
Statement blouse, printed skirt and a clashing boot, well that is just a recipe for styling happiness for me no matter what the season, mood, weather or otherwise, it's my ultimate failsafe, my safety blanket and my old favourite and I am totally not ashamed to say it.
I think we've all got that one piece or look that we always opt for to make us feel better. That beloved jumper that's like a huge fluffy cuddle on a cold winters day. That figure hugging LBD that makes us feel like we can take on the world. Or that pair of jeans that hugs our curves in all the right places. I believe it is so important to single out these pieces and shout them from the roof tops. It's so great to be able to a have foolproof combination, that recipe full of all the correct ingredients to add a spring to our step and to make us feel 100% sassy!

It's no secret that I am completely infatuated by the 1960's. No matter what current trends are taking over the fashion industry I will always work to inject a sixties touch to everything. It's a formula that I know works for me and a formula that I know I'm becoming to be known for in my line of work. Everything from the cut of the clothes, the colours and prints, and the rock and roll attitude that goes hand in hand with everything sixties related just resonates with me and is one of the many reasons that I love fashion and styling so much.
Whether it's rock and roll, grunge or totally feminine pieces that float your boat it's always good to have an idea of the kind of piece, trend or vibe you're looking for when shopping, especially when it comes to online department stores such as Zalando.
Zalando, as I've mentioned countless times before (here, here, here & here) is fast becoming my go-to for online shopping. It's the ultimate destination for finding that must-have outfit for whatever the occasion. The brands that are housed on Zalando never, ever let me down and I often find myself falling in love with a new brand each and every time I log on to the site.

Today's sixties inspired ensemble is made up of high street pieces at a range of price points.
From this totally beautiful ruffled blouse in the most stunning of blue shades by Vila or this oh-so Megan star print skirt by Pinko it just screams sixties to me, especially after a cheeky lil blow dry at Trevor Sorbie to give me the ultimate voluminous sixties do. The navy base colour of the skirt combined with the lighter blue stars tie the whole look together which then gives me the god given right to throw in the ultimate clashing pair of boots. You've probably seen these leopard print boots a heck load recently but thats because they're flipping awesome! They're by a new brand on my radar Tamaris and have got to be my most comfortable boots of the moment. They're a super soft faux suede and act as a sort of sock boot for the ultimate in comfort... plus they're leopard print and that clashed with star print is something I am TOTALLY onboard with. All I'm missing is a striped addition and I've got my three fave prints all rolled into one.

These shots were taken at one of my favourite tea joints in Manchester, Blue Daisy Cafe which is attached to Pop boutique the ultimate vintage time warp, providing the upmost perfect retro backdrop for such a sixties failsafe combination as this.
I'd really love to hear your thoughts on my little safety blanket of a look and am super intrigued to hear what your oh-so reliable combination is no matter what the weather.

I know lots of people here will be happy and maybe this was inevitable but I don’t agree with doing this yet. Has there ever been a team which replaced it’s coach mid-season and went on to win a title? Of course that doesn’t mean it’s not possible but I do think it makes things haBr7r.rdown̵e;s rotations which can only be described as bizarre have to be the chief culprit. MWP at the 2 over Meeks who was brought in just for that position was one of the weirdest decisions I’ve seen.
Megan, MATE, you look amazing (deserving of all your blog wins recently!!) and I adore the skirt – perfect winter/retro twist.
