Repetition is not something I'm very good at.
Anything of a repetitive nature seems to annoy the living daylights out of me and is a sure fired way of sending me into the depths of a girl mood, you feel me ladies?
I think that's why I find myself being quite the chameleon when it comes to styling myself on a day-to-day basis, I simply find myself getting bored of the repetition that can come with life. Whether that be in the form of the daily tasks we as adults go through, relationships with others or our jobs; repetition is something that is all too normal with us millennial's so why let it be that way when it comes to dressing our bodies each and every day?
Working from home is something I've always loved and something I feel completely and utterly thankful for. However, recently I've become bored of spending all day and most evenings cooped up in our small flat, only venturing out for coffee or to take my daily outfit snaps. I'm trying to think of ways to mix this up a bit, whether that be working from a new environment or changing up my daily routine, It's all trial and error, and always has been since I went full time into this crazy industry early this year, and let me tell you, it's still something I'm getting to grips with.
An average and normal day of mine would consist of emails, get ready, shoot, write, draft, emails and usually the same the following day. All of which takes place from my dining room table that resides in my open plan living space which is the same table I eat my evening meal on. I'm finding myself going a little bit stir crazy lately but it's something I'm working on I promise, I know deep down that this is something I have brought on myself and something only I can change, and let me tell you, I intend to. Please don't take this as an ungrateful thing, but as I'm sure you've heard all too much, full time blogging can get lonely and definitely has some downsides to it. Alas, until I'm able to buy a small house with an office space, my little dining room set up will have to do.
But anyway, small life story over lets get on with the outfit, however, if you have any tips for working from home then do leave them in the comments below, I am certainly all ears!

Repetition, as I was saying, happens all too often in life that I find it a duty to myself and to others to insist that this does not happen when it comes to styling. Why succumb to the power of your plain white tee and black jean combo when there are SO many other options out there. I say this, when wearing a very monochromatic look and I know what you're thinking "What is this girl talking about with this oh-so-wearable get up!?"
Wearable it is, but rocking monochrome in this way is something very different for me as of late and something that is a little out of character I must say.
I've mentioned in a few posts lately (see here & here) how blending into a crowd is not something I step into all too lightly, however, sometimes it's nice to rock your newest styling basics together to create something totally cool, yet totally wearable to many a person.

JACKET, SHIRT & BOOTS- MAISON MARGIELA c/o HERVIA, JEANS- c/o CHEAP MONDAY, SUNGLASSES- CELINE c/o SUNGLASSES SHOP

These styling necessities are each by MM6 Maison Margiela via Hervia, a designer boutique that I've mentioned on PBM before (here & here) and you guys know I simply ADORE! It's becomming my go-to for my designer basics, those pieces that I can style up, style down, style round and round to make completely different looks.
The bomber x puffa hybrid is a particular favourite of mine right now as it's perfectly on trend for AW16 (which I discussed further in this video) making it the perfect piece to throw on with absolutely anything to add a serious bad ass nature to a look. It's reversible too, with an all black finish on the reverse side so it's a two-in-one little baby which brings that cost per wear down a shed load.
The checked shirt is like nothing I've ever owned before; what with the asymmetric hem line and the exaggerated billowing detailing , it's a pretty spectacular piece and something I plan on getting a lot of wear out of this season whether that be with seriously skinny jeans such as these Cheap Monday beauties, or with straight leg indigo wash denim or even tailored trousers with a pop of colour, the styling opportunities are going off in my head right now!
And finally the boots, oh the boots! These boots are quite possibly the most beautiful boots I have ever owned. A set of boots that cause me to seize up at the thought of wearing them, they're simply far too beautiful.
The seriously luxe velvet base combined with the mirrored chunky heel make them the perfect smart/caje shoe option and that kind of boot option isn't something I've had in my obscene ankle boot collection before... I know shock horror right!?

So that's it. Life ruts and style ruts of the world unite and then banish themselves to a place far, far away are you with me!?
I'm learning that life is too short to be stuck in a rut and I'm going to take some of my own styling advice and channel it into my day-to-day to give myself that ultimate #LifeGoals moment, who's with me?

I’m in a major life rut at the moment – a terrible nightmare of a situation at work I just cannot seem to catch a break and be able to get out of.I am concentrating on myself and finding small pleasures to help get me through and one of the ways is to actually concentrate on my style more. It’s tempting to slob about in sweat pants and an old sweater and tee but I am trying to make more of an effort and take more time to put makeup on even when I am only going round the corner to take my books back to the library or post my dvds back to Lovefilm. it’s a small thing but taking the time to appear more stylish brings me back to myself and makes me feel a little better. Hope you break out of yours soon xxx
Beautiful look , love the boots 🙂

That bomber looks lush! So comfy and warm in this weather and with the shirt, jeans and boots it’s a combination I wouldn’t put together but really works!!

The bomber is so cool. I’m a bit of an opposite when it comes to styling as I live in basics and neutral shades, and I’m quite minimal but I still enjoy your blog 🙂 This look though is my fave! Monochrome suits you 😉

I completely feel you (in both life rut and monochrome!) staying stagnant in one place really makes me feel sad about myself and what I do, but since getting office space it’s allowed me to separate my life plus allows me to relax. If you can only sit at the dining table, maybe make it look different during the day? I’m lucky now I go out on shoots so that there’s always change, but now nothing makes me happier than my bed or desk, feels amazing.
