Happy Hump Day everybody, I’m here with what I formally call Wanderlust Wednesday and boy am I wanderlusting right about now.
If you follow me over on Instagram you will most definitely know that I spent the last weekend in sunny and ever so beautiful Rome.
Rome has always been high on my hit list for places to go so I completely and utterly jumped at the chance when Rome Cavalieri invited me to stay at their oh so beautiful hotel for the weekend.
This is the first of two posts from my time in Rome. I’m going to talk you through the wonder that is the Rome Cavalieri hotel first in this post and then the second which will come towards the end of this week, potentially early next week, will be a general “What I wore in Rome” / “Rome Photo Diary” hybrid post, AND you can also see what we go up to in Rome in this week's vlog here.

So the Rome Cavalieri hotel is situated just 15 minutes outside of the city centre, providing the ultimate oasis and haven from the hustle and bustle of the Roman city. It’s one of those places you breathe a sigh of relief when you enter as it’s the ultimate comfort blanket in what is such a crazy busy European City. It provides the best of both worlds in my opinion, making city breaks all the more luxurious.
Situated in a 15 acre Mediterranean park, it completely transports you from the hectic city centre, providing the ultimate tranquility you deserve when taking a break, even despite the fact it overlooks Rome and the Vatican City.
Speaking of overlooking Rome, the view from the room was simply breathtaking, Rome in it’s entirety sitting directly behind the pool and the grounds of the hotel made waking up each and every morning pretty spectacular indeed.
The rooms were really huge, providing a wonderful spacious setting with a large, seriously comfortable bed, a living area with desk space and a beautiful marbled bathroom with the deepest bath, making it perfect for a much needed bubble bath after a long day of exploring Rome.

Throughout the hotel there are a number of pieces of art varying from paintings, tapestries, period furniture, statues and artefacts; a highly prized private collection which are guaranteed to blow your mind with every corner of the hotel you turn. The art collection truly adds to the extravagant vibe of the entire hotel, working to make your stay at the Rome Cavalieri all the more luxurious.

The food at Rome Cavalieri was simply sensational; from the breakfast buffet of dreams serving cakes and pastries, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese and of course our much loved breakfast favourites of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, French toast and more, it was impossible to stick with just the one course, let me tell you.
The Rome Cavalieri hotel also offers the most epic of Sunday Brunch experiences too. Each Sunday they transform their dining room into the ultimate global feasting destination, with everything from sushi, meats and cheese, seafood, salads and pasta to the most incredible selection of cakes and deserts I’ve ever seen all cooked right in front of you. It’s a real treat and something I urge you to check out should you be lucky enough to visit.

Not only that, the Rome Cavalieri is the only hotel in Italy to boast a three Michelin star restaurant. La Pergola by celebrated chef Heinz Beck, a wonderful man who we were lucky enough to meet as well as be fed by, is situated on the roof terrace of the hotel and is fine dining at it’s absolute finest.
We were treated to the most luxurious 10-course taster menu which offered everything from Duck Foie Gras Powder, Squid and Red Shrimp, Lamb with Goat Cheese Pearls to Iced Sphere of Red Fruit with crystallized Raspberries… Yeah I know it sounds amazing and trust me it tasted simply sensational.
But for me, the highlight of the dinner was the Fagottelli Carbonara, a signature dish at La Pergola of the most delicious pasta filled with hot pools of Beck's carbonara, rather than the traditional carbonara where the sauce is served on top of the pasta. An absolute taste sensation and something I am drooling over just thinking about.
From delicious food, to incredible wine handpicked by the in house sommelier it was an experience to remember that’s for sure. And to think I thought Wine Sommelier’s were fancy… At La Pergola there was a highly informative Water Sommelier, along with a Bread and Salt Sommelier, kerazy huh!

Within the grounds of the hotel lies The Cavalieri Grand Spa Club; Italy’s most luxurious spa and fitness facility. With ten treatment rooms offering a huge variety of spa services it truly is the ultimate place to get your relax ON!
I went for the Full Body Caviar Massage and my goodness was it incredible and quite possibly the most beautiful massage experience I’ve ever had.

So there we have it, a little over view of the awesome Rome Cavalieri hotel, a hotel that has hosted the likes of Morgan Freeman, Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas plus many, many more; which in itself shows just how luxurious this place is. It was a complete treat and privilege to stay in such a wonderful hotel and I simply cannot wait to return to both Rome and the Rome Cavalieri in the near future.
