It all started in January this year when Rose Quartz was named the colour of the year for 2016, since then we’ve all been going mad for the girlish hue. Thanks to the likes of Alexander McQueen and their ballerina-esque pink frocks, Shearling edged pink jacquard bombers at Holly Fulton or head-to-toe magenta at Gucci, pink is going nowhere this Autumn/Winter and I for one am rather happy about that indeed.
Whether your taking on the colour of the year in a Scandinavian, minimalist way or championing it through and through with your very own head-to-toe pink look,we’ve all succumbed to shades of pink, no more so than myself.
I’ve bossed pink in many ways already this year, but none am I loving more so than through my make up. Pink lined eyes were seen at Versace, Fuchsia lips at Jeremy Scott or flushed cheeks and rose tinted lips at Tanya Taylor; pink is the colour of the season for make up too and if you’ve seen my latest every day make up video you’ll know that all too well.
I’ve been adding a few bits here and there to my make up collection recently, some of which have made it into my daily make up looks so with that, I thought I’d share some current faves that have seen me through late summer and will continue to see me through the colder months.

First up on my rosy hit list is a product that I’ve loved for some time. One of those products that you use religiously for months on end, before discarding it for something new until rekindling your love for it some time later. The Nars Copacobana Illuminator was my first ever piece of the dewy variety. Something I found through countless YouTube research and something that set my heart alight when it comes to all things dewy faced.
Applying it before my foundation or with a small amount amongst my foundation, I find it adds the most incredible glow to your make up. What initially leaves you resembling The Tin Man works with your foundation to leave a truly wonderful natural glow, something I’m forever striving for. This little baby and I go way back and I’m sure will have many more adventures to come together.
Now for foundation and funnily enough this is another piece of the rekindling of love variety. My first ever high-end foundation came in the form of Illamasqua’s Skin Base foundation, a truly wonderful high coverage foundation that leaves my skin looking absolutely flawless with the sweep of a damp beauty blender.
Blending magically into my skin, it’s a foundation that I love just as much now as I did back then, a foundation I can totally rely on no matter what I have planned for the day.
I repurchased this along with a few other Illamasqua pieces (keep on reading to find out what else) whilst visiting Liverpool a couple of weeks ago. I headed straight for The MetQuarter and left Illamasqua goodies in hand and my god does it feel good to have this foundation back in my stash.
I’m a sucker for a bronzed look no matter what the time of year and shockingly only discovered the wonder that is Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess bronzer early this summer. It’s a complete cult classic and one I knew about for many years before I eventually succumbed and purchased it. But by goodness has it changed my make up habits for good. It’s a really subtle yet oh-so-wonderful bronzer that blends seamlessly across the skin and leaves that oh-so-beautiful just back from holiday, sun kissed finish. With it’s huge pan and even bigger mirror it’s something that I already know will be seeing me through many make up days, months, even years to come.
Another Nars product that I’ve been loving now for the past few months is Nars Orgasm Blush. I’ve honestly never, ever been a fan of blusher, usually opting for bronze, more sculptured cheeks and that natural, sun kissed look. However, early this year I was introduced to Nars Orgasm and have since never looked back. It’s a subtle blush that packs a punch and you can quite easily build it up, should you require a more intense flush to the cheek.
Since discovering this Nars classic, I’ve certainly learnt that you can be both bronzed and sculpted yet still throw in a nice, natural flush of rose to the cheek, bringing my make up to life and looking all the more glowy than my usual self.
Now for eyes. You guys know by now that my eye look is probably my most statement of all other parts of my make up routine; what with my spider lashes, winged eye liner and bronzed eye lids. However, here comes the pink shades in full force; those I’ve been loving oh so much throughout summer and those that I'll continue to champion when it comes to the pink eye colour department.
Whilst I was in Liverpool I also picked up the latest eye shadow palette from Illamasqua; from their extinct collection and THAT.WINE.SHADE.IS.EVERYTHING!!! It’s a really great shade to build up to a dark and deep burgundy eye look, however I like to combine it with the ivory shade within the palette to create something of a dusty rose eye look.
That, combined with the Wanton Rose lipstick also from Illamasqua work to give me a catwalk worthy pink make up look and something I simply cannot get enough of.
The Wanton Rose Lipstick shade is one of those that I find myself reaching for every day with it’s stunning rose gold packaging, it’s matte yet totally moisturising formula and the pretty pink shade, it’s a really wearable every day shade and one that I would repurchase in a heart beat.

So it's all about Pink; pink to make the boys wink... Or just to make us feel wonderfully sassy more like! Pink is the colour of the season for both clothing and make up and I am clearly all about it. What are your thoughts? I'd love to know if you have any make up recommendations that I just simply must have as I'm all about adding to my collection right about now.
