Transitional dressing is HARD OKAY! I admit that this time of year, twice a year, in that wishy washy period in-between seasons is when I have my seasonal freak out. I stand, looking at my wardrobe wondering what the heck to adorn my body with for the day.
My mind is in full blown autumn/winter mode whilst the weather seems to rebel against that and shine baby shine all day long. This, of course is great in some respects; I’m all for a longer summer but in reality, I’m just not all that big on summer gear.
From regular blog reading, magazine flicking and general chit chats I’ve had with friends, family and industry folk alike, I know that this is something a large majority of us struggle with so I’ve teamed up with Dorothy Perkins to showcase this seasons Style Heroes to get you ready for the new season whilst also knowing what to wear right now! Cost-per-wear isn’t everything but it sure as hell helps when adding some newness to your wardrobe.
Whether it’s day-to-night shirt dresses, bold colours and prints or my absolute fave statement shoes, Dorothy Perkins and I have got you covered for statement, transitional dressing must haves!

Novelty prints are my jam. You lot know this by now, so when this seriously cute patchwork shirt dress came into my life I squealed with excitement. Wear it now with bare legs and a fedora for ultimate summer bohemian vibes and for winter, layer it over a polo neck and team with straight leg jeans for a seriously bad ass layered look.
When I spy a statement dress such as this, my mind goes into overdrive filled with the styling possibilities. I personally love how the monochromatic palette brings the statement print down a notch or two making it a totally versatile little piece. Statement but oh so versatile, just how I like it, bringing that cost per wear down to simply pennies.

I’m now lucky enough to work from home and work in my pyjamas should I wish, but I’m all too aware of the work-wear woes us ladies have to go through during this transitional time. Go for a v-on-trend checked pinafore dress styling with bare legs to combat the heat, a fitted shirt for those totally workwear feels and add a scarf for an additional styling touch… Workwear doesn’t have to be dull and this is something I completely and utterly champion, offices are dull enough… AMIRITE!? And don’t forget your quilted leather look bomber, this piece takes your workwear look to after work drinks after all.

It’s super easy to fall into the monochrome trap as autumn rears it’s head, opting for all black looks with a touch of white and grey makes styling that little bit easier for some.
However that couldn’t be further from the truth for me. Take your favourite monochromatic piece and throw caution to the wind by teaming it with the boldest colour in your wardrobe. This electric blue wrap skirt is the ultimate piece for making my monochrome pop whilst also being totally flattering and seriously versatile. It’s one of those pieces that you can wear casually with a plain-white-tee, with a fancy blouse like this or with an embellished bralette or crop top for party season, it’s a win win piece thats for sure.
And before I leave you, let’s just discuss these absolutely INCREDIBLE studded boots by Dorothy Perkins. If they’re not the finishing rock and roll touch to any look then I seriously don’t know what is.

There’s no better blog to go than yours if you’re looking for some statement boots inspo. Just to underline this, I’m already having a big crush on those studded booties. I need them!
