I recently went to the coolest wedding in the world EVER! It was a rock n roll wedding like no other, the wedding of the year if you wish and that got me thinking about wedding attire.
Dressing for occasions is no mean feat. In fact, it's pretty damn difficult even at the best of times, but throw in the word wedding and watch panic wash across the faces of women the world over... WHAT THE HECK DO I WEAR!?
This was the first wedding I've been to in my adult life and to be honest, I had no clue about the ettiquette of wedding guest dressing. You see countless campaigns, imagery and magazine shoots telling you "what to wear to a wedding" but my gosh are they bland. And after delivery after delivery of potential wedding looks, I decided enough was enough.
Why should we conform to the typical "wedding guest look" of below the knee dresses, florals, hats, fascinators the works... Now that just aint me.

You guys may well have already seen what I decided to go for, but incase you missed it you can check it out on Instagram here. An assymetric colourful number, yes with florals, but with frayed edges, sans symmetry, ruffles and a fluorescent palette, now thats how I do a wedding. Combined with clashing prints with my Gucci bag and a totes comfortable but oh-so standout pair of velvet pink heels, I felt awesome with my bed-head hair, extremely like myself yet found that it was totally appropriate for a wedding.

Take this look for example, it's your stereotypical pink lace wedding number. However, who says you can't wear denim to a wedding, the wedding of the year had guests wearing printed tropical shirts, fedoras and converse for crying out loud, all of which looked totally bad ass and thankfully broke that classic wedding stereotype mould.
A cropped denim jacket teamed with this gorgeous dress by Look Magazine x Glamorous brings it back into the twenty first century. Throw in some printed snake shoes, a choker and a messy up do and it instantly becomes a wedding look that obvz took you just two minutes to decide upon that morning 😉

Love that the wedding’s so laidback! I would never be allowed to wear a denim jacket to a wedding!

Only you could get away with wearing denim to a wedding and still look rockin’, totally summer dressing nailed and love the clashing shoes.
