RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH!
That's what I like to call this time of the year.
It's that time where the inevitable style rut sets in, the shops are brimming with AW wear and the weather is having a meltdown not knowing whether to obey us with sunshine or rebel against and rain baby rain.
With this time of year comes a heck load of research. Researching into the season ahead, looking at trends, street style and celebrities to inject some AW sass into our worn and totes over it summer wardrobes.
This is a process that naturally comes seasonally when our tired, well loved pieces cry out for a refresh and our wardrobes champion the new additions.
One of the many things I love about living in the UK is that we have very diverse and different seasons that really allow us to make the most out of the latest fashion trends. By the time summer is up I'm always desperate for textures and layers and vice verse towards the end of winter, my legs are pining to be aired sans tights and trousers.

It's this wishy-washy time of the year where we slowly begin to add AW pieces to our summer wardrobes and have to work out how the heck we're going to make them seasonally appropriate now!
Grunge styling is HUGE this season, as it has been for many an Autumn/Winter now. With the likes of Vetements, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga and No.21 all championing the trend.
Grunge spirit is something I regularly dip in and out of, selecting prints, finishes and silhouettes that reflect the nineties in more of a now way.
For grunge, I of course look to the catwalks, but I tend to take much of my inspiration from Kurt Cobain, Chloe Sevingy and obvz Alexa Chung, however more recently have been looking to the likes of Helen Anderson, Leanne Woodfull and Hannah Louise Farringdon for my daily dose of grunge on a more wearable, day-to-day level... Go on girls!

This entire look was sourced via the wonders at Luisa Via Roma, my go-to for designer items with a twist. LVR tend to select the most rad pieces from the catwalks, more trend based, quirky items that you wouldn't always find on competitor websites.
That being said, they do have style faves such as the Gucci Dionysus bag along with other classic pieces, but take these down right awesome Mexicana boots. A brand I've not actually heard of before, but a brand that are well and truly on my radar now; Cowboy boots with a cosmic twist... HELLO NEIGHBOUR!
That's what I love so much about Luisa Via Roma, it is a website that is always educating me on the must have, up and coming designers and brands and I always find myself with a lust list the size of my arm when arriving on site.
However, the grunge look is all-the-more grunge worthy thanks to this little checked dress by Diesel, again at LVR. It's a seriously lightweight piece that makes it totes approz for Summer, however is bang on the money for AW16. I plan to rock it with a polo neck knit, fish net tights and an oversized aviator jacket throughout winter, making the cost per wear on such a trend focused piece, out of this world amazing!

You look bloody amazing Megan! I cannot wait for it to be Autumn, I love summer but hate summer clothes, they’re just not as exciting as long sleeves, layers and coats. x
