Hello you lovely bunch, I do hope your week is off to a good start.
I'm currently knee deep in deadlines before a week away in Santorini with George and I honestly cannot quite express just how much this is needed.
I've been blogging now for three years and in that time I've only really had one holiday where I didn't feel like work was overly neccessary. This was at the beginning of my blogging career and when I was in full time university education but still, I shot my outfits every evening and compiled a "week in outfits" style blog post at the end of my trip.
Since then I've blogged, Instagrammed, tweeted and vlogged my way through each trip, and don't get me wrong I've absolutely LOVED every second of sharing my trips with you all, but now, three years in I need a break.

I'm heading to Santorini for a week of relaxation. I'm shutting up shop here on pagesbymegan and on my YouTube channel for just one week. I need to reevaluate my blog and my channels and really work out what it is that makes me and my blog so different, I need some fresh inspiration and creativity pumped into me and I feel a little break is just the ticket to have me at my best once again. I love what I do, completely and utterly so; but it's a full time job to the highest degree, no evenings, no weekends and no holidays and when you're feeling tres uninspired, this does nothing for your creativity, your peace of mind or your stress levels... Until now.
I plan to sit in the sunshine with my gorgeous boyfriend and just enjoy life as and when it happens. No doubt they'll be an Instagram or snapchat along the way but I feel completely and utterly drained right now, I've never really felt like this towards my work and I think it has something to do with the fact that I've very recently (February) turned my hobby into my full time job and like everyone, I need a break.
So with that, I hope you'll be kind and understanding, as I know you always are, and let me have my week in the sun, with my boyfriend to just do me, do us and do a holiday, the way any other normal twenty something would.
Hopefully I'll be back, rejuvenated, revitalised and brimming with ideas for PBM, my YouTube channel and more but please, as always if you have any ideas, criticism good and bad I am all ears.

So with that out of the way I thought what better way to leave you all than with a pretty marvellous outfit, if I do say so myself. The entire get-up is from Zalando, the mecca of all branded websites, albeit a naughty one for my bank balance. Every time I log onto the Zalando website I head straight for Sister Jane; a brand I like to think personifies me and my style and a brand that I know I can always rely on when it comes to that must have sixties inspired ensemble.
This dress is certainly no exception, what with it's beautiful shift shape, it's flowing fabric and it's highly extravagant neck detailing. The lace, combined with the ruffles is something I am totally into right now as my ruffled blouse and shirt collection is increasingly on the up.
Sister Jane combined with the mother of all shoe brands Vagabond, another brand you can get on Zalando, is pretty much a match made in heaven in my eyes; a truly sixties inspired dress with a totally chunky and in-yo-face seventies-esque boot; juxtaposition-ing at it's absolute finest.

So there we have it, one awesome dress, a pair of incredible boots and a Megan who's batteries need recharging. I really hope you enjoyed this post, as always a huge thank you to you all for reading and being so supportive.
Thanks also for letting me have this short break away and I shall see you next week with a whole new head.

I’m new to your blog and I already love what you do. Matter of fact fashion, I love your delivery. Hope the creative break helps. Look forward to future posts.
Hey Megan, I’ve been reading you for a while and I like your style and the way you express yourself. If you need to recharge -absolutely normal- just do it but don’t call it for a week, maybe you need more. And that’s fine. To make a project like PBM and all it’s platforms -IG, Y, S- move you need a lot of time of thinking about your strategy, your objetives, and not only yours but the brand, because you have created a brand. If you want to chat about this matter send me an email when your back from your holidays. Have fun and enjoy the beauty of Santorini!
xx, M.
Love the ruffle detail on this dress, so pretty. Very Alexa Chung. Have an amazing holiday. Santorini is gorgeous. x
Good for you Megan! You work so hard and you so deserve a proper holiday with George without having to worry about vlogging etc. I hope you come back feeling refreshed and inspired – take as long as you need! Looking forward to future posts whenever you’re ready x

I LOVE that dress!
I get so much outfit inspiration from your posts and always look forward to seeing what’s coming next. I firmly believe you could make any outfit work! 🙂
Have an amazing holiday! Everyone deserves time off! Looking forward to what’s ahead on PBM when you’re recharged and rejuvenated X
Have a good time off Megan! There are lots of things I’d love to see on PBM/the YT channel like a wardrobe tour of some of your fav pieces or most special pieces (a bit like those vogue videos), along with that your vintage pieces because I think you’d have an amazing and interesting collection, Lizzy had a style-off video with her boyfriend and I thought it’d be so cool to see you two do that together; and a Ask Megan type where people ask styling tips (ex: how do I pull off a bomber jacket, how do I wear a midi skirt without looking dumpy, etc) and you could answer or style up some ideas. That was probably way too many ideas to throw out all at once but I do love all of your inspiring content! Much love, xoxo.
Yes girl you take that time off! I just finished school and I feel like I am constantly on vacation right now so I can’t even imagine working for three years straight. Have an amazing time in Santorini, I’m so jealous! Gorgeous look as always. You make me want to cut my hair like every time I see you ahah.

Bloggers often feel the need to apologise for taking time off and having a few content-free days and I think it’s absolute bullsh**. When you’re your own boss, and originally writing a blog for yourself, then your readers will understand. Hope you have all the fun and sun on your trip!
ps. Looking super lovely! Love the socks an boots combo 🙂

Have a fab holiday!! PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY!!!! Haha! Love your rings! Where are they from?! xx
Enjoy your holiday guys! Love your blog and YouTube channel 🙂 Personal favourite posts/videos are ‘Ways to Style’ like the M&S collaboration video (those culottes though..!!) and your hauls. I’m not usually that bothered about haul videos as the clothing is rarely to my taste; but you select pieces that I would actually wear & style them up in freaking awesome ways. Hope you come back feeling inspired and can’t wait to see your next content!

Glad you had such a great time and a well deserved break! Regarding your reevaluation, I honestly wouldn’t think into it too much. I know it’s hard to see from the inside, but trust me from the outside I feel like you definitely stand out and always put your own twist on everything you do- which is why we all come back! You’ve definitely already got your own thing going on, even if you can’t see that! X
If you decide to go the splash page route, make sure the design, copy, and feel correspond with your regular homepage – you don’t want users to wonder where you are. Also add a cookie so that when they visit your site a second time they go straight to your homepage rather than dealing with the splash page again.
That hits the target dead cetnre! Great answer!
