On a rainy Monday evening in London and after a long day working away, a delicious meal is always on the cards.
So G and I hopped in the car to Liverpool Street to sample a new restaurant on our radar, Fish Market.
Situated just off Liverpool Street it’s in an awesome location, but due to the many back streets of the area it’s lovely and quiet on a week day evening.
A cosy, candlelit restaurant suitably decked out in a modern yet rustic way was the perfect destination for our rainy Monday evening pick me up.
To start with, we went for the seafood platter; a delicious plate full of the best seafood the ocean has to offer.
Fish goujons, huge king prawns, salt and pepper squid and scallops, we were totally in our element, all complimented perfectly by the best chunky tartare sauce I’ve ever tasted and the most delicious white wine.
Once we’d made our way through the platter it was time for our mains. G opted for the lobster, which was cooked in garlic butter and served with chips; I managed to have a cheeky taste and I can assure you, it was garlic, seafood heaven!
I however, chose the haddock fish cake with poached egg and wilted spinach which was completely delicious and extremely light, which was definitely the right move as desert was also on the cards…
In celebration of National Chocolate Week which ran throughout last week until today, The Fish Market had designed the most perfect of chocolate puddings. A pot filled with the most deliciously gooey chocolate and served with homemade shortbread!!!!! My kinda desert completely and one that left me wanting more for sure!
So if you’re looking for a scrummy fish restaurant, that won’t necessarily break the bank and is a super cosy, relaxed vibe then I wouldn’t totally suggest Fish Market. I’ve already recommended it to a number of my foodie friends and now of course you guys.
