So on Friday 18th July 2014 I officially became a Fashion Communication & Promotion Graduate from the University of Huddersfield…Whoop Whoop!
I had one of the best days spent with incredible friends and my perfect family and I couldn’t have asked for a better day!
My course at university really was incredible, I studied a whole host of fashion related topics including, PR, marketing, journalism, photography, styling and trend forecasting; I really feel it has fully equipped me for the life of a fashion professional, allowing me to go into a number of fields which is always a bonus when jobs are few and far between.
My course also had the option of a placement year which was vital when making my university decision 4 years ago now. I would whole heartedly reccomend taking full advantage of a placement year, I got to work at some incredible brands including House of Holland, ASOS, Alexander McQueen, JD Sports and Bank Fashion, which, more than anything truly helped me to thrive and gain the most amazing experience and knowledge that I was able to take through to my final year and now my job as a Personal Stylist at ASOS (The dream)
For the graduation itself I decided to go for typical Megan dress with stripes, a red lip and some statement accessories; I can’t get enough of the structure of this dress teamed with the most comfortable and beautiful 60’s inspired platform shoes and the most gorgeous bag I could ever wish for from the sweeties over at Daniel Footwear…THANK YOU!
University was the best life decision I have ever made, 4 of the best years of my life and I genuinely don’t think i’d be where I am today without it.
I am so proud of myself, my boyfriend (who I met 2 weeks into uni…) and all the incredible friends I made at uni; Class of 2014 WE DID IT!
