Hello, hello!
It's been a really long time since I've posted anything here. I took a little longer away from the blog whilst we went off to get MARRIED! At long last we're married, and I'm so very excited to share just a handful of photographs and special moments from our day, which was over two months ago now (wow how time flies!)
Having postponed, and downsized, our wedding due to covid, it was so incredible to finally tie the knot and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect, happy day, filled with so much love. The smaller, more intimate, wedding couldn't have been more perfect for George and I, and I am so truly thrilled with how it all turned out.
We got married on 6th August 2021, in North Yorkshire, at Duncombe Park, with just 34 of our nearest and dearest. It was so truly special to have our baby girl Goldie Rae with us throughout our special day, it couldn't have been more perfect and I wish that I could go back and re live every single moment of it.

The morning of our wedding was so peaceful, exciting and beautiful, spent with my favourite ladies; Mum, Faye, Amy, Lennie and of course our little Goldie. We all wore matching pyjamas by Sleeper, accessorised with trainers and slippers ( I didn't think about footwear...but LOVE how natural and relaxed each of our morning outfits turned out regardless)
We sipped champagne and slowly got ready with the amazing Amy on makeup and Rob on hair.
My dress was by Alice Temperley; a dress I found way back in November 2019 in the very first bridal shop we visited. Typical me, apparently!
It was love at first sight having already spied it online a few days after getting engaged, I knew I had to try it and as soon as I did, I knew it was the one for me!
It was fun, it was a little bit different yet it was still super bridal and seriously special. The pink crystals lovingly sewn throughout the dress made it so very me! It was perfect, comfortable and in my opinion the most incredible dress I'd ever seen and worn. I felt beautiful in it.
I accessorised the dress with a headpiece by Simone Rocha, shoes by Attico and for the evening, a bag by Paco Rabanne, it was the most incredible outfit I had ever worn. Fragrance wise, I wore Maison Margiela's Springtime in A Park from their REPLICA family, and it was truly the most stunning scent for a Summer wedding, but more on that in a couple of posts time.
The girls wore dresses from ASOS in the most stunning pink hue and shoes from Kurt Geiger. Goldie rocked two little dresses by Stella McCartney and we kept it simple with a pair of lace socks.

I truly can't express how magic it is to have your baby girl with you on the morning of your wedding day. It was the cherry on top of the cake for me and she was sooo incredible throughout the day, as always, an absolute joy to be around. I will treasure these photos for the rest of my life.

The boys looked so gorgeous, each wearing tux's with George's being all Burberry everything, from his sunglasses to his tux and his shoes, which was a beautiful and important touch considering his history with the brand. He looked absolutely divine, it really was such a moment walking down the aisle to him.

The ceremony passed by in a blur of love and ALL THE EMOTIONS! Apparently there wasn't a dry eye in the house, as we said our own vows, with Goldie Rae in George's arms; it was a truly beautiful moment.
The flowers were a serious highlight of the entire day, and I can't quite believe just how insanely stunning they were! We enlisted the help of the amazing Aelisabet Flowers, who took my ideas and made them bigger and better than I could ever imagine! They transformed both Duncombe Park and Jimmy's York in a way that nobody saw coming, and for that I will be forever grateful to Hannah and her incredible team of florists.
Our guests arrived and took their seats to the sound of the beautiful Northern String Quartet who played a real mash up of songs from the likes of The Smiths, to Arctic Monkeys, to The Downton Abbey theme tune and a whole host of stunning classical and modern pieces mixed in along the way.
I walked down the aisle with my dad to Dusty Springfield's The Look Of Love, which was so special, and George and I danced back up the aisle, as man and wife, to Rusted Root's Send Me On My Way...perfection!
All of our stationary on the day, including our invites, were created at Papier, which was so super easy, the most gorgeous quality and certainly a place I would recommend for all your wedding stationary needs.

Originally, we had planned an outdoor ceremony, but as you can see from the image above, it rained and rained and rained all day long...! So, we transferred everything indoors and instead of having our pizza and champagne van's facing the lawn, they faced inward instead so we could enjoy them on the terrace, and inside, instead. It's funny how on the lead up to the wedding, I was SO obsessed with checking the weather, desperate for some sunshine so that the wedding I had in my head could take place. However, on the day I was calm and really unfazed by the fact that it didn't happen that way, and, in all honesty, I think it turned out sooo much better that way!

From the drinks reception/pizza party, it was time to make our way across to York for our evening party, something I was SO excited about! George and I had spent days leading up to our big day transforming the space, and I was so proud that we were able to pull it off just the two of us, it was such a fun way to lead up to our wedding, and it made everything that little more special knowing that it was all done by us.
We transported our guests over to York in a vintage bus, with a mini bottle of pink Moet for the journey, of course! That coach journey was hilarious, we spent the entire journey laughing and singing and just having the best time, whilst Goldie napped in her little car seat (angel!) The photos from this part of the day are some of the most special photos ever of our nearest and dearest, so I do hope you can understand why they're not featured here.

And it was party time!
How incredible is this space! I truly can't get over how we transformed Jimmy's York into our perfect wedding venue with some tinsel curtains, some absolutely outrageous flowers and a heck load of love! The space really felt like "ours" it was the perfect reception for "Megan & George's" wedding, which is what it's all about isn't it!
George's mum lovingly cooked spaghetti bolognese for us all, which is a really special dish for us and therefore so perfect to serve on our big day. The plates, cutlery, glassware and candlesticks were so kindly gifted to us by Made.com and which we have since donated to charity on their behalf, it was such an elegant yet relaxed affair.
My mum over at her side hustle, Pinfold Creations, whipped up a personalised bib for each guest which doubled up as a place setting and SO perfect for keeping those inevitable bolognese splashes away from my dress, they were such a hit with our guests.
The whole of Jimmy's was adorned in Maison Margiella's Springtime in a Park REPLICA candles to match the scent I'd chosen to wear on our big day. It was the most beautiful scent to fill the space. We were even lucky enough to gift our loved ones with a REPLICA candle or fragrance each as favours, which was such a gorgeous touch, so a HUGE, BIG thank you to them!
Once again the flowers were all created by Aelisabet Flowers, how truly breathtaking are they! Our cake was made by Manchester baker Palms Bakery and other finishing touches included pink neon candles, again made by George's mum, and a personalised neon to our first dance You're My Best Friend by Queen, kindly gifted to us by Daze Neon.

George and the boys performed a short set, which was a huge highlight of the day for everyone, and a really gorgeous surprise for all of our guests! And from that point it was dancing time!
And boy did I dance! I danced until I quite literally dropped and I must say, George and I made the perfect party playlist, banger after banger!!!
I truly hope you enjoyed taking a small look into our wedding day. It feels so surreal but oh so lovely to be able to share these special photos with you. It really was the most incredible day of our lives, but also the most beautiful, fun and love filled weekend of our lives. I would give anything to re-live every moment just one more time.
In case anyone is in the midst of planning a wedding, I just want you to know that I would whole heartedly recommend every single one of our suppliers mentioned, so do check them out if they sound like your cup-of-tea, they're all truly sensational.
Special HUGE shout out to Bella Howard, our incredible photographer, you made all of our wedding photo dreams come true.
x M

Beautiful! I’ve been following you on Instagram for donkeys years, and then met you & George at one of his pop ups – gosh, must be about 6 years ago now! – and you were both The Nicest. So so lovely to see this dreamy indie fairytale wedding 💕.
It reminds me a lot of mine actually, we also had a pizza van in the rain lol (and I also had been obsessing for weeks and then didn’t give a damn on the day), decorated the venue ourselves, had a lot of homemade food (the cake and deserts), weirdly similar song choices…! My first born was (and remains) a little terror, so I have to say I’m a little relieved he didn’t tornado into our lives til after the wedding 🤪. Glad Goldie behaved!
