I can't quite believe that I'm typing this, but yes, the rumours are true, I am launching my own clothing line! *HURRAH!*
After a solid year of planning, designing, fitting and sourcing I can finally reveal what I've been hinting at over the last few months and my all new clothing line Saturday By Megan Ellaby!
I am so freaking excited to be able to share with you what I've been working on for the past year and I truly, truly hope you love it, but if I know you guys as well as I think I do, I'm convinced there's going to be a piece for each and every one of you within this first collection.
Saturday By Megan Ellaby is an all new luxury clothing line and to kick things off I've designed a capsule collection of five limited edition knitted jumpers made from the finest merino wool and designed right here in the UK!
Lets start with a little background on where the name Saturday came from shall we.
The name Saturday by Megan Ellaby stems from being in education or in full time “office” work and how I would desperately wish for the weekend to come around so I could wear whatever the heck I wanted. I want our Saturday girl (you) to look forward to the weekend so she can wear her Saturday pieces and style them up in her own signature way. Each piece has been designed with my love of colour and my love for having fun with fashion without compromising on quality.
There is a piece for everyone within the collection whether you love experimenting with colour or whether you’re a little more understated with your style, there is something for each of you. Each piece comes in a slim fit to allow for ample styling opportunities whether you wear it loose over a pair of jeans for a Saturday at home or tuck it into your leather A-line mini skirt for a Saturday night out dancing with the girls, each piece works to create a multitude of different looks for all your Saturday needs.
It's been so truly amazing to work on this for the past year and i'm so excited to see where this takes us. You lot know I'm super passionate about good quality knitwear so it seemed so natural to kick things off with 5 beautiful pieces of knitwear made from the finest natural yarns. The quality is honestly INSANE and each piece has been designed to last and last, if you take care of it. Prices vary from £70-£75 with sizes from XS-XL and i'm thrilled to say we ship worldwide!
Saturday By Megan Ellaby officially launches THIS SATURDAY 27th October at 9am so do sign up to the newsletter here so you don't miss out.
So, shall I talk you through the collection then?
The Rainbow Knit
So first up we have The Rainbow Knit a piece that was an absolute no brainer for me when I set to work designing this collection. You guys know I love a good rainbow stripe and I know you lot do too so I truly hope you're excited for this baby!
A rainbow stripe made from 100% merino wool with black contrast collar, cuffs and hemline, which I feel works to toughen up the rainbow a touch. I really wanted to incorporate some lurex into the mix so added a GORGEOUS glitter yarn panel across the bust which I truly adore!
As mentioned above, all 5 of the knit's are a slim fit and each with the signature Saturday By Megan Ellaby embroidered clam design to the cuff. This is something super special to me and something that makes me truly happy whenever I look down at my arm. I've gone into more detail on what the clam means in today's YouTube video so do head on over there to take a look at the jumpers in action.
The Oh So Knit
The Oh So Knit was a design I'd had in my mind for around 2 years now after having a number of you and a number of my family members joke about how often I say the words "Oh So" when describing something. I really wanted to incorporate both a front and back slogan panel and thought this slogan was the perfect way to do so.
Once again made from merino wool with intarsia and in the most delicious cobalt blue shade with a pop of hot pink, a colour combination I am OBSESSED with!
This design is one of my absolute favourites (I say that about all of them) as the colours are just SO vibrant!
The Pop Of Colour Knit
Once again a piece that was inspired by my overused vocabulary and obsession with adding a "Pop Of Colour" to everything! This was actually an idea that my dad had so I can't take all the credit for this design, THANKS POPS!
This time with a high neck for a touch of the 1960s it's a really classic piece and one I think you're all going to love!
I decided upon navy as it's my favourite "neutral" shade and I adore how the rainbow embroidery "pops" against the navy base. The "Pop Of Colour" embroidery is actually my handwriting too which once again is such a very special touch.
The Well Good Knit
Another high neck silhouette here we have "The Well Good Knit" inspired by all things British and how we describe a whole lotta thangs as being "Well Good" I love how cheeky this slogan is.
This time in a gorgeous burnt orange shade, it's beyond perfect for all your autumn/winter styling needs and similarly to the navy knit, it's a bit of a classic for your wardrobe too.
The Star Arm Knit
And finally "The Star Arm Knit" a piece that similarly to the rainbow knit, was a bit of a no brainer of a design. It's no secret that I LOVE myself a spot of star print, so chose to combine it with my favourite colour combination of pink and red too.
This babe is a little homage to my blog design, the thing that kicked off this crazy journey, and is such a cute piece that I just know you're going to love! Layer this baby (and all of them for that matter) with a frilly blouse or white shirt underneath for a totally different look! I can't wait to see how you style it!
So yes, the secret to what Saturday By Megan Ellaby is is finally out and I can now breathe!
I am so thrilled to be able to share this with you and I really hope you're excited about it!
Saturday By Megan Ellaby officially opens on Saturday 27th October (THIS SATURDAY!) at 9am and I am so excited to see what you go for! Please do share any snaps of you rocking your pieces when they arrive and tag @Saturday_ByMeganEllaby on Instagram as I'll certainly be sharing them with the world as I am SO excited to see how you babes style them up.
ARGH this is so crazy! I hope you love it, please do let me know what you think and what you're thinking of picking up!
Loads of love to you all.
